Only little boys don't love their parents, when they go through the early puberty phase. Part of maturing and becoming an adult is about recognising how much your parents did for you, and loving them for it openly and proudly. Again unless they were awful and/or abusive to you of course, in which case then obviously you don't have to do that but should cut them out of your life. But yeah.

For all those saying the Gulf of Mexico question is so easy, it’s like asking which county doesn’t border the Irish Sea? I’d like to see the majority of Americans get that confidently. Would most Americans even be able to name more than a few counties in the UK/Republic of Ireland? I wouldn’t expect them to have any knowledge, so the Yanks should stop pretending the world should know every scrap of knowledge about their nation/geography etc.
Edit: I know it’s the British version for the people in the replies - that’s the point. In the UK the example I gave would be a sub £1,000 question, in America I can confidently say it wouldn’t be. It’s all relative, but don’t be so shocked that people here don’t immediately know their American geography.
