- This is an update from the previous video "How to Make a Living Wall From a Pothos Plant"
Watch Part 1: • Make a Living Wall fro...
After 7 months, my living wallpaper is going strong and integrated it into a bookshelf so that I can also use that space for storage.
Why organize a living wall and then hide the beauty of the arrangement with a bookshelf?
Debbie Excell I was thinking the same. To each their own I quess.🤔
I like the bends in the stems, looks more natural ☺️
I created a similar living WINDOW with ivy. I found small suction cups with zip ties on Amazon and use the cups to train the stems as I want. No issue with light, they get plenty. And in winter the stems do get cold but have not lost any in 2 years (zone 5B). It's gorgeous and brings nature right in the window which was my goal. I'm sure this would work with pothos too. My pothos are growing fast nut are still too short to "window garden" them. Wish I could share a photo.
Those bends make it look natural 🌿🌿🌿
can u show the current update, its been more than 1 year after 2nd video. love to see the update
or post a photo
Yeah
The bends make it real though so it all looks great! :-) gonna do this with my regular ivy that I have in wall planters - going to train them all over the place! Thanks!
Michael Pollan's How to Change Your Mind got a cameo! Great book!
I love your cadence

Hi Sir, I have read somewhere they damage walls because the roots will stick to it.
Pothos roots will not root into the wall, it's not like mortar. It's most likely acrylic paint which has nothing to offer the plant beneficially.
Why not pinch at the base to get more vines? It's very cool but much fuller would be amazing...fill the whole wall.
yeah he could take some of the bendy bits and cut those to propagate them and then replant the young plants into a larger pot together with the photos it would make it really bushey
I have mine hung up in the corner of my bedroom, then trailing along both sides of my walls, and draped over the canopy of my bed. When I tried going from floor to ceiling I struggled with getting it enough light.
pothos like to be up high and im thinking maybe the sun isn't hitting the soil properly, and a bigger pot please :)
Looks great !
i am going to do this myself but slightly different / on a larger scale
i am going to make a square wooden frame on the wall where i then put a trellis from
concrete reinforcement ( large iron square grid )
then cover the grid with some moss so the plants have something to grow into
lastly for the plants i am just going to make / use a large planter that fits along the whole thing and then fill the planter with plants (duh)
planter would be filled with like :
Monstera deliciosa
Monstera adansonii
varied types of photos ( i have a silvery ann and i am waiting for a marbled queen to come in )
Rhaphidophora Tetrasperma
Hoya Carnosa Tricolor
and maybe some other large plants
it will take a lot of pruning to keep the plants in order and i might put the monstera deliciosa the furthest away from the window compared to the rest since its leaves might block a LOT of light
that or i might put a grow light above it
i may also fill the grid with some pots here and there so i can put in orchids or something to give the wall some color if i feel the need to / when the wall isnt fully grown yet.
large plan to do but i am waiting till i get a house first xD
( i even have the idea of putting some LED strips behind the grid for fun/weird light options that between the vines a light shines through but not sure yet )
Wow! Sounds great. Hope it works out.
Why you covering up the beautiful plants?.3-23-19
They've grown so much in 7 months! I just got a pothos in September. It had a vine that was longer than the others so I pinned that to the wall above the doorway. It's been stuck in the same spot since I put it there. There's a couple new leaves but no new stem length. Do you recommend anything? Thanks!
They slow down quite a bit in winter so expect them to get moving now that it's spring! Otherwise give them as much light as possible and that will speed them up (but the changing season should do the trick on its own) . Good luck!
Ned's Garden thanks(:
to add on to ned's comment hte moment you see a LOT of new growth you could try to give the photos some liquid fertilizer to boost it a little ( like once a month )
and with most plants you can repot it every 2 years o3o
mine grow large, long roots on each node and it kind of make the vines look ugly. Do you have the same problem? I guess it's ok to cut away the roots
Is this the brightest this room gets during the day? I’m really wanting to make my own pothos wall but I get about as much light as you do in this video on a sunny day. What direction do your windows face?
Mynamebecameryn I would recommend getting the green pothos because those can take the lowest amount of light. They won’t die with low light, they will just grow a little slower
The vines are very leggy. Do they get enough bright light?
Wow!
Why did you put a bookshelf in that corner in the first place?
Need another update woohoo
Could you do another update ?
How do you repot this plant?
What kind of tool did you use to stick the plant on the wall?
I used clear plastic Command Hooks
@@nedsgarden7066 is it a kind of double tape?
@@idawatiidawati9438 It's a plastic hook that uses a double tape to attch. Search for "3M Command Decorating Clips"
