So rad to hear the shout out to “the world has turned”. It was one of my favorite tracks in middle school and remains potent and powerfully relatable today.
Listened to this on repeat during my first break up.
“Music that plays in the background when Rivers is my sleep paralysis demon” - as someone who intermittently experiences sleep paralysis I fully and deeply appreciate this line.
One of the best and most nuanced takes on Weezer I've heard. Also nice to find a good list that has OK Human and Van Weezer included. Most Weezer rankings occurred around 2019, so seeing one after is a nice change of pace.

We are halfway through SZNZ so far and it's been a big mixed bag quality wise, but I'm hopeful. Summer was definitely an improvement over Spring, so Autumn might be really good if the quality continues to rise.
The red album is WAY TOO underrated and I’m not afraid to say it and the fact that you said troublemaker is a heinous POS is an actual travesty

RE: Maldroit sounding like Pinkerton. Rivers actually developed the Maladroit tracklist based on fan input - releasing demos and interacting with fans on their message boards. At this point, The Blue Album, Pinkerton, and The Green Album were their entire discography, so you can imagine the sound fans were expecting.

I love The Greatest Man that Ever Lived! One of my favorite Weezer songs along with Burndt Jamb, Keep Fishing, The Good Life, and Holiday. Also, Troublemaker is not a heinous POS. Beverly Hills is a fine pop song that you can put on in the background while driving to work or school or the school you work at or wherever and not think about it too much.
Also Pinkerton > Blue, and, as always Christmas with Weezer is my favorite Weezer album *ka bum ts’sss* (I do genuinely believe everything other than that Christmas with Weezer is my favorite weerez album)

Spot on with the rankings, mine is fairly similar. I oscillate between Raditude and The Black Album as my least favorite. Teal album is the album no Weezer fan asked for.......
I still look at Teal the same way I looked at it in 2017. With confusion and disgust.

No judgement on your list here. Will say Make Believe is on my top, minus the garbage track Beverly Hills. I actually forget that songs on the album cuase i skip it immediately. “Freak me out” is one of my all time favorites. Its so chill and really smooths me out.

Raditude is not a great album by any means, but I'd rather listen to it any day than fanboy favorite EWBAITE! The only greatest hits type song on that album is Back To The Shack. I've Had It Up To Here took me a minute to get used to but is a really great song. Lonely Girl is a solid song. The rest is pretty much trash! I'm a big history buff, but when I listen to music I'm really not wanting to hear anything about how The British Are Coming or Cleopatra. I don't understand the love people have for this album. Makes Raditude look like a masterpiece!
