I've been in Mexico a little over a month now, and this is why I like Mexico over the USA:
    Food: better and more affordable
Healthcare: just as good as in the US and actually affordably and transparently priced - haven't had to use my insurance
Housing: far more affordable than in the US
Job opportunities: now that I'm about to be TEFL certified and nearly 50 years old, more opportunities in MX and less ageism
Safety: I feel safer here in downtown Guadalajara than I did in Phoenix, AZ - no “active shooters” where I live
Transportation: more affordable in the US - and safer too

One of the things that has been more difficult since Covid is to get and renew passports inside the USA. Even long after the lockdowns were lifted, they claimed that they were too understaffed to renew passport to a timely manner. I kept that in the back of my head, so I have renewed my US passport here in Mexico with no problem. I still had three years left on it, but something told me I should renew it and get another 10 years instead of waiting till the last minute to renew it when time was almost out, and they remote possibility that it might be impossible from the USA. If Trump is elected, I think the wall he wants to build is to keep us in more than to keep people out. All I want is my freedom and I’d rather live in a tent by the river than to lose that. I’ve also pled to my friends and family even three years ago when I was moving to Mexico to get their passports in order so if something happened, they could come stay with me. The why can often be lower cost of living or healthier food choice or less crazy less expensive medical care. Better weather. When people get gentrified out of a neighborhood they go somewhere else. But many states in the US make crazy choices if you dont agree you accept it as majority rules. At some you look around. US is just hard to retire in.

Also, I wanted to mention a think that most people overlook, it is called URBAN PLANNING. Urban planning can make life much easier when well done. Urban planning is much better in Mexico for many reasons. It would be long to mention everything here and you can read books like Strong Towns by Charles Maroon. The USA has changed their ways of developing their cities after the second world war, ignoring everything that human learned so far, all the downtowns were destroyed and the suburban experiment started, developing only for cars and the oil industry. Segregating everything to make sure we all use cars and gas. Mexico did not do so much of that, the mixed used neighborhood and the houses built near the street with a sidewalk is a better urban environment for humans and this is what we love but most of us dont see this.

Excellent video guys! Things truly are getting a bit too much to handle in the US again. I'm so glad that I got my Mexican Permanent Resident Visa 7 years ago. Buying beachfront property in Mazatlán was affordable back then and prices have gone up 2 - 3 times since then.
As you know quite well, many Americans are virtually permanent tourists in Mexico. They come for 180 days under a tourist permit, leave for a week and come right back in for 180 days. Things did tighten up a couple of years ago, but the pendulum has swung back again. It's not so easy to qualify for a Permanent Resident Visa any more (Temporary isn't that easy either), so many folks will continue to do their border runs every 180 days and the current government seems to be okay with that. We shall have to wait and see what Claudia Sheinbaum wants going forward. Keep up the good work guys!😉😊💓

      @destinationmax 2 месяца назад

My gut is telling me that Mexican govt knows exactly what’s coming for the USA on all levels and in time they may even change the tourist policies like other countries have. There’s actually not that many countries that allow for 180 day tourist visit. Most are 30, 60 or 90 days. There’s also a few like Brazil that require an actual visa application, bank statements and a fee to even be able to visit. The last four or so years Brazil has not required it, but they’re bringing it back at the beginning of 2025. They tried to bring it back this year, but they delayed it.
During a true crisis, I believe Mexico would offer asylum for people, but it would be for a limited time because Mexico is not equipped the way that the USA is with infrastructure, water, etc. There are also not enough or feasible jobs here for the average American.

It’s interesting to me that we haven’t seen Trump complaining about his security. It’s a well documented fact that the security in Mar a Lago was super lax when he was Potus so it could be that the Secret Service relaxed their security practices which would be a dereliction of duty. I am trying to be hopeful. There are a lot of good reasons to question and be cynical but I choose to hope that in November, most of us Americans in the middle will choose common sense. I follow politics and I research so that I make an informed decision. But…I am also looking at options as well. I’m not young so for me to make a move to Mexico, it would be for quality of life. We hope most Americans choose common sense as well. Unfortunately even if they do it looks like it's going to be ugly for a while. We didn't even go into the stuff going on OUTSIDE of the U.S. that affects America's position in the world.

Hello, thank you for your videos, I appreciate your work. We are a gay couple in Clearwater Florida and we are thinking about moving to Mexico, we like Puerto Vallarta. I am a home designer and I work for a small company where I do structural design, I work mostly from home but I still have to go to the client and measure their home. You suggested that you may have some ideas to help find work online. Would you have some suggestions for me. Regards.

Yes actually we do! We've actually worked with clients in the home decluttering space where they too had to go in person and there are things you can do based on your experience to become location independent. You can book a time on our calendar here: www.makemoneyyourhoney.com/strategy or if you prefer shoot us an email at community@entrepreneurexpat.com

México not an option, think twice if you do. Here in Mexico it's getting worse and worse, too much crime, everything is getting more expensive i would never recommend México as an option.

At least 1.2M Americans disagree with you on it being worse. But yes, it has gotten more expensive than what it once was.

I wondered what it would take for you to become political.
I just wish more ppl would wake the f*ck up 🤦
As i've told you and many of my other friends & family before, even if you don't believe in politics, politics believes, and affects, you.

Sometimes, we laugh to keep from us crying. The political situation is disheartening to say the least.

If you aren't happy about staying in the states, where would you go? Mexico has serious problems, but it's being built up, not torn down like the US and Canada. Central America is too tiny and vulnerable, imo.
I've considered Asia, but that's a big move and the cultures there are very different. If you live in the US, Mexico is close in many ways.
