Final golden MTV era for music. It was always interesting coming from High School and tuning into TRL and seeing Limp Bizkit & Korn music videos along the likes of Backstreet Boys and Britney. 1997-2001 may have been the best era to see those 'heavier' bands on mainstream.
Man MTV back then seemed to really know how to connect with the younger/teen era. The most popular music combined with a highly energetic spring break location was absolute marketing GENIUS! What happened??
This is the gig that broke LB into the mainstream. I recall watching it at the time & digging it, as I was already into rap/rock bands like 311, Korn, & RATM. It’s hard to believe now, but at one time MTV was actually about music and not un-reality shows. They could have a huge impact on a band making it or not. Bizkit caught the tail end of that era.
