I'm glad Omega is giving George Daniels his much deserved credit, but also hats off to Omega for putting this design into mass production. I love my Speedmaster Racing with the MC caliber 9900. It's never slowed down or sped up or stopped in the 6 months that I've owned it. I work around large magnetic fields also. This thing is a beast of a watch.
Sounds like a watch that gets put to good use! Thanks for the comment Jonathan.
Me too.
I've always been a massive fan of Omega but its amazing to see how well they are doing now, they along with Seiko have left Rolex in the dust.
I have both Rolex and Omega and my go to is Omega.
same
Same for me...
Have both, love both
Wow, why?
@@jeffreylondongolf3448 I like Omegas style
I must admit I was more drawn to the seamaster than any other watch out there. I couldn't be happier with my 2022 white dial seamaster. Just a stunning thing to have on your wrist. It will be worn every day
Fantastic presentation! Great insights into Omega’s coaxial movement, have the 2022 38 mm Connie and it’s the best I have had.
I just bought the blue Seamaster 300 professional from 2018 and I'm in love with it!
Great review of the Omega Co Axial - one of the most significant advances in horology, a brave move by Omega. As owners of three examples in this house we can testify to the accuracy, anti magnetism and quality you outline in the video. They are exceptional pieces.
Spring drive.
@@misteratoz Great movement. Not truly mechanical though.
@@daved1823 Why do you say it's NOT truly mechanical . It IS 100% MECHANICAL.
@@738polarbear it’s regulated by a quartz, so no, it’s not a mechanical movement.
@@diavalusco axial is not regulated by quartz
I just bought my first Omega, an Aqua Terra Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics edition after lusting for an Aqua Terra since it's first launch. Beautiful dial and lovely colour scheme. Definitely one of my happiest days and knowing it has one the best innovations in watchmaking on my wrist.
Good choice!
Truly incredible video. Loved the pride you could see from Petros. And the explanation on the friction savings and impulse distribution of the co-axial escapement vs the Swiss lever is greatly appreciated. Currently waiting for my Super Racing to arrive and would love to see this depth on the spirate system.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for the compliments and enjoy the Super Racing when it has arrived!
It was the golden age of mechanical engineering. As a mechanical engineer, I am astonish by an all this ingeniousity of the past. Nowadays the mechanical design as simpler and we use a lot of electronic to replace and remove a lot of mechanical complexity. His book George Daniels Watchmaking is a real horlogical bible. Not really interesting by the big advertissement, but the model are cool.
Thanks for the video! Omega is a great brand with great technology. I love my Seamaster 300m Professional.
2264.50.00
@@zillsburyy1 Nice! The 2264.50.00 is an awesome watch from the 90's. I like the hour markers and non-skeletonized sword hands on it. I discovered Omega in the decade of your timepiece, when I was a teenager and it became the watch of James Bond in GoldenEye (1995). The Seamaster in that movie had a quartz movement too, like your 2264.50.00. Mine has the Co-Axial escapement and is reference number 212.30.41.20.01.003.
Thanks Monochrome team for making this great video. What a great story to tell! Loved it
Thanks!
Terrific presentation, an excellent insight into Omega's professionalism indeed. One would expect nothing less by any measure!
Thank you for the compliments.
All stars of Omega came together!
Superb video, should be on TV.
Thank you 👍🏻👍🏻
Fantastic video, and succint explanation of the Omega/Daniels industrial development of the revolution Co-Axial escapement.
Love the iconic work of Dr George Daniels, and I have adored Omega for most of my life, especially through the lens of NASA/Space and 007!
In late 2017 I purchased my very first Omega, the Constellation Globemaster Co-Axial Master Chronometer in blue dial and stainless steel case with matching bracelet, and a year after was gifted the official blue leather strap; the watch on leather strap is my most worn timepiece and favourite watch!
It will remain a part of my personal collection for the rest of my life 😊
Awesome video, just subscribed. I sure love both of my Omegas
I love my Broad Arrow Speedmaster, it will never leave my collection. I have a 3313 automatic movement in it with exhibition case back. Hard to beat
OMEGA has always been light years ahead of rolex
It isn't even close. Omega for life.
Rolex will forever be the No.1.

I’ve had the smp diver metas certified and have been amazed of accuracy so when they came out with the new speedmaster 3861 metas certified i had to get it.
thank you guy ! I'm subscribed ! NICE WORK !
Wonderful presentation. So happy to find out my orange bezel Seamaster Planet Ocean Chronograph carries Mr. George Daniels' amazing legacy
What a great explanation of the Co-axial escapement. A truly great watch 🙏🏻
Glad it was helpful!
I’m happy with my limited James Bond blue dial yellow arrows Aqua terra, and getting Seamaster 300m also limited James Bond version. These are wonderful watches. I’ve Breitling B01 Chronomat, Rado, but I am always with Aqua terra. Love this watch.
What a great video. Excellent thanks for sharing that with us.
Much appreciated!
Thatnks for the explanation, I now get why the value for the coaxial movement
You'rer welcome!
Amazing stuff you guys, I am sold on Omega until I hit the dirt.
I love my Omega Seamaster 300 42m blue dail it keeps perfect timing definitely need a Omega in your watch collection am going to add the Omega Moonwatch in my watch Collection Soon ⌚️
I love wearing a perfect time machine on my wrist. Planet ocean 600...
Seiko started catching up under watch accuracy so they stop doing it. And made it only Swiss only
Have a Omega Seamaster very happy with it .
But my Selko LX titanium spring drive Is just as good
Plus great video
5:39 What is the specific name of this pocket watch? I would like to know more about it. Looks like an even more unusual escapement that the coaxial, but it's hard to tell what he's calling it because I think youtube captions is spelling it wrong.
beautiful, Omega is my watch, and will always be
2264.50.00 here
The co-axial escapement is the reason why I acquired my Omega Constellation.
I wish Omega's great inspiration and technology combines with Rolex design! What a great DNA it would be for watch lovers... Till then, Omega and Rolex forever for me, which I love both so much!!
Omegas design language is more dynamic than Rolex by far. Rolexes success is due to consumerism and branding. loom for a ceramic ROLEX look for a Rolex tourbillon. There is no comparison. I will always have several Omegas in my collection.
@@finished6267 well said mate
Both great brands. Almost anybody can afford both if they are determined in life and shop around with patience. Omega = Cutting edge engineering. Rolex = Timeless, classic luxury.
Nice ⌚
seiko answered it with 9SA5 caliber after being more than 20 years behind from omega
it's just simpler with all the advantages of omega's coaxial escapement
I mean a watch is more than just an escapement. How does the accuracy or antimagnetism compare?
I wish they would stop calling it the ' Swiss Lever'. Its correct name is the 'Sliding Lever' and just like the Coaxial escapement, is an English matchmakers (Thomas Mudge) invention. The Swiss simply adapted it as their own.
Great article, considering the testing , R & D and heritage, Omega watches are good value I think. Maybe one day I'll buy one.
Thank you very much!
The style of my GENEVE is what I like
My next OMEGA with co axial
what is the old movement that still today hold the record of precision? 30T2 ? 286?
I'm serioulsy considering a home improvemement loan to buy the new 007 seamaster. They dont need the know the improvement is an Omega in my collection xD
We won't tell anyone!
My constellation is now -4 seconds per day, one year still left for the warranty to expire. Do you think i send it for service or a simple regulation?
It's best to contact Omega, or a certified dealer, for that.
I love my omega seamaster smp 300
Sometimes i cant believe the accuracy of my Seamaster with the 8912 co axial it gains less than 1 sec a week
I love Omega Watches... I fact I have trusted them with my life BUT would any of those gentlemen join me for a pulled pork BBQ? Ribs, pork chops, pigs feet and the classic a beef bacon and cheese burger?
The only thing I hate about omega is that they tend to change the look of each generation for each model drastically. They should implement smaller changes between generations in order to maintain the value of their watches.
I'll be trading my GENEVE' in for a co axial escapement
I really want to soon buy a blue faced Seamaster 300 Co-axial Master Chronometer in 41 MM, but I've heard a number of complaints from various Omega customers about debris on the dial, hands and underneath the crystal.
Then I watch this video and see debris or discolouration on watch hands and dial within this *_promotional_* video and even a sizeable chunk of debris at 15:40 on the dial underneath the shaft for the hands.
Does Omega need to up their clean-room game?
All I can see is the scratches on my screen
That is a spec of dust on the outside part of the crystal, not on the dial
can you do ORIS one day ?
Rolex? Omega. Beautiful. Dollar for dollar the best Swiss horology in the world.
Credit to George daniels🥰 invented the mecha watch more accurate than quartz
I didn't know Bill Pullman was the CEO of Omega
Omega is the cool brother of very serious Rolex.
That sounds about right ;)
@@Monochrome-watches ofcourse I do own an Omega. And not a Rolex. :)
But why are all omega watches so thicccc.
The DE VILLE
would be my best bet ?
Where's any refererence to caliber 2500?
The calibre co-axial 2500 can also be found in Seamaster 300m diver (casino royal James Bond version). Hope this helps:-)
What if you sneeze and inhale the small parts?
That would a bit of an issue :P
@@Monochrome-watches an issue, that likely would
Require more than a single tissue. .
Your internal chronometer would get a boost until the pieces naturally left your body
What is omega ceo wear
watch? -anyone knew?
Our best guess would be a Globemaster, but it is hard to tell.
My guess would be whatever the hell he wants
Grand seiko and omega are only true watch innovation company
Beautiful timepieces, beautiful technology and sadly Rolex continues to kick their derrières in public demand

Thank me later.😊
Nice watch price in pakistan
Sorry we don’t sell watches. And what watch are you talking about? There are dozens of watches in the video ;)
@@Monochrome-watches ok
For movement and technology, omega is far beyond rolex. However, in most of normal environment and daily use, rolex is more durable than omega based my own experience
Not when it comes to antimagnetic properties. The Rolex Milgaus, which is touted as the brand choice for engineering, where resistance to magnetic fields can be most impactful, is rated to 1,000 gaus resistance. With Omega’s silicone hairspring technology almost all of their watches are rated at 15,000 gaus resistance.
how many of these parts are from China? The industry seems to try to suppress this topic.
Greetings from Dubai
I love Omega.
But omega do not respect customers. I mean for sake of sanity STOP issuing same watches multiple times
There is seamaster professional for Bond , then for James Bond, then for 007 and finally for Bonds anniversary 🤔
Same ongoing now for Olympics
Follow Apple and Porsche NOT Samsung and Toyota
Have to agree, less is more
Price in pakstan
After seeing the new Frederique Constant Oscillator Escapement, this looks primitive.
FC makes good watches but the brand, the pedigree, technology and finish is nowhere near OMEGA.
Time to get rid of the wart Omega.
I see. Omega feels the Grand Seiko's 9SA5 threat.
Too little, too late. The new 9SA5 caliber is great, but it's still not as accurate (+5 / -3, vs Omega's 0 / +5), not as magnetic resistant (60 Gauss vs Omega's 15000) and not as affordable (GS starting around 10k vs Omega around 5k). Moreover, Omega's current gen Master Chronometers (i.e. 8900) are in production for 6 years already, so you can expect another evolution far sooner than GS, further extending their lead. Big love for both brands though!
@@stefanlazaralexandru I do get your point but this argumentation sounds pretty much like that it comes from well established car brands like Merceds, BMW etc. when talking about the threat of Tesla. I do not want to start a discussion on comparing car brands with watch brands but history showed that egocentricity in business causes brands to loose significant market share.
@@jeffjenco8009 Your comparison makes sense if you compare the Spring Drive to a traditional mechanical, but the discussion here was about 2 traditional mechanical movements from 2 competing brands. As an owner of both Omega and GS, I have a soft spot for both, but you can't deny the facts, that Omega's 8* and 9* series movements outperform the GS' in many respects. What is so special about the new 9SA5? Antimagnetic? Yes, but barely. Co Axial escapement? Ok cool, but Omega is at it for 12 years already and have gone through several iterations. Full balance bridge, free sprung balance? Rolex and Omega are doing this for over a decade or two. Accuracy? Barely better than COSC. Oh it's well finished and has 36k BPH? Not enough to justify the price if you ask me and definitely not enough to stand up to Rolex or Omega.
It's the Daniels Co-axial Escapement not the Omega Co-axial Escapement. It took George Daniels a long time to come up with this design. Please don't water down his achievements.
Ok then same goes for Rolex having Aegler movements. Let's not forget the Aegler family and company suppling Rolex their movements for many decades
Fruition…..frutation doesn’t work
Such a pity they were absorbed by Swatch and now make plastic watches
