Blonde hair and glasses is Cynthia Erivo. Please please please react to her, her voice is out of this world!
The woman doing the ad libs is the amazing cynthia erivo
IIRC Hugh Jackman actually had a malignant tumor removed from his sinus cavity and was on a strict no singing ban. I think when interviewed he said after it was done he had popped a few stitches and had a massive nosebleed. Jeremey was brought in to help the pitch to producers b/c his style and range was similar to Jackman.
Oh God I didn't realize the tumor was removed from his sinus cavity, I for some reason thought it had been on the outside of his nose
It was skin cancer, he's had several removed since.... that's why he keeps saying to be very careful with the sun now.... he had several removed then and was forbidden to sing to stop the stitches coming apart...which they did and he gad to go back to have them redone
I had no idea he went through that hell! My nose sinus issues affected my voice especially my range, which might be only a couple octaves (very low bass only). Damn it! Was a Tenor/Baritone. But, that was then.
Yes. Hugh Jackman is a good looking dude.
He was like “I showed up and let them know I wasn’t supposed to sing today. And they told everyone I’d be here and Jeremy would sing for me while I stand here and act out the scenes.” And this song has been my FAVORITE since watching this interview.
I honestly think the reason Jeremy looks a little peeved is because he knew Jackman was supposed to sing and was potentially damaging his nose.
Cynthia Erivo and Keala Settle living their best lives during the repeated chorus section is always my favorite part
Can’t wait for Cynthia’s blue fairy in Pinocchio
Mine too. Goosebumps. Just goosebumps.
Was that Cynthia??? Didn't notice
Yes! Cynthia and Keala are powerhouses!
Yes yes yes!!!! This whole video has me in the happiest tears every time!!!! I NEED TO BE IN THIS ROOM!!!!
You should react to "this is me" when they rehearse. I cry every time i listen to it
It’s in her patreon. YT won’t let it go so it’s blocked :(
Me too!!
me too! It is raw and emotional, get's me every time.
Same!!!!
@@KhailSOLO Hopefully it'll be out soon! Never know, could be.
That girl is Cynthia Erivo. She can literally do everything with her voice, low and high notes, every type of songs. In 2019, she sung a masterpiece called "Stand Up" for the movie HARRIET. She's such a great singer, you probably should listen to her after this!
She also was recently announced as getting the role of Elphaba in the theatrical release of Wicked!!!
Yes, after knocking it out of the part in The Color of Purple!
How did I miss that.
Yes. Her live performance of Stand Up is just amazing
I would be *CRYING* in that room!!! They straight up took us to *CHURCH* !!!!!
You should react to Jeremy Jordan telling the story of this day… it’s hilarious! But you feel for poor old Jeremy… as wonderful as Hugh is
ruclips.net/video/08AGzOmCk-s/видео.html
Was this the presentation he mentioned in that video?
@@lalachristy5581 yes
@@bbeachley1293 ok thanks
Phillipes part was stolen from Jeremy Jordan
Cynthia Erivo is doing those adlibs and she is amazing!!!! A song I recommend her doing is I Am Here from the Color Purple I believe.
Oh Audrey reacted to that one!!! She knows Cynthia's work Im surprised she didnt recognize her lol. Although she IS in her street clothes 🤣
@@lau2616 haha maybe! Thanks. I will check it out!
I believe it was split between Cynthia and Keala Settle, the adlibs that is
@@kodakohl it is but the one leading and the loudest is Cynthia , she recognizes keala
She is freaking incredible!
That is Cynthia Erivo. She can sing anything in any style from Opera to the Blues to Ella infused jazz. Check out You're Not Here or I'm still Hurting by Jason Robert Brown or anything from The Color Purple.
He tore the stitches in his nose doing this song 🤣
I love Hugh so much! He was told he wasn't allowed to sing, but this song is just one he couldn't not sing!
I recently saw Seal who said his performances are not about him standing up and singing a song, or selling a record, it’s about the shared experience.
This damn movie is incredibly underrated. My favorite musical of all time. These songs make me so emotional.
I’m a 65 year old trumpet player and have enjoyed supporting musicals. But this movie is the first musical I’ve been passionate about. And the more I delve into it, the more passionate I become.
Choir nerds can't help but freak out during watching this video. The pure raw energy taking place in that room is electric. Just people that appreciate music and love to sing and make music, making amazingness together. Gives me chills every time I've seen it
I rear up on every watch. But it’s not just singing, it’s all of the performing arts. I’ve been in a room like that with an orchestra (at a public performance.)
Poor Jeremy i feel so bad for him he was so hoping to get the role that Zach got. You need to watch the video of his greatest showman dream. He explains this video as he sings songs from the show. He was actually asked to sing Zac's parts for the studio execs he had to fly to New York and the day before he was told he also had to sing hughs part as well. All while he was sick and had lost his voice. He basically got the movie greenlit and they didn't even give him a role. I hope they fix that for the 2nd film bc its the right thing to do.
I would have thought that Hugh Jackman pushing for the project the past 7 or 8 yrs prior, as well as the songwriters, had something more to do with it getting greenlit. I must have been mistaken .~
@@cissyiniguez yes but Jeremy played a big part too, it basically all came down to that day. It ain't easy to get films greenlit because 1 they cost a ton to make second studios are in the business of making money not losing money.
I still think they should have offered him something anything as a thankyou for helping them get it off the ground.
sorry but he did the right thing, doesn’t mean he’s some kind of victim or something. people in any collaborative effort put in important work and get no shine, but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t worth it
@@jakekunz5168 i completely understand that every little part brings a film together no matter how small it is. But if I eas the director and I knew that Jeremy wanted the part. I would have apologised to him saying I'm sorry I already have someone else in talks but as a thankyou I would like to offer you a small part. That is the right thing to do , if Jeremy didn't want any role thats fine I would have thanked him and have him credit for his help in getting the film greenlighted.
@@suesue5142 I’m sorry but if would have been wrong to give him the role of P.T Barnum, because Hugh was the one who pushed this movie for like 10 years. He was the only choice for P.T. They could have given him Phillip tho.
OMG the adlibs are Keala Settle she is amazing. You've GOT to react to her singing "This is me" from this session you will LOVE it. I know someone else commented this but it needs to be said again lol.
Edit: Wait you said blonde hair are you talking about the girl with the short blonde hair standing on the table with the glasses?? 🤣🤣 Cynthia Erivo!!!
For an explanation of Jeremy’s expression, you’ve gotta watch his video on “How I Saved The Greatest Showman”!
Also, THANK YOU FOR THE NATALIE WEISS SHOUTOUT! No one ever recognizes her or points her out in this but she is worth the mention/plug!
I can't imagine being in that room. You can't script that! It took on a life of its own. That was an amazing reaction to an amazing video!
As a pianist, the pianist here sparks such joy. He gets so into the music, and you can see and feel the joy!
I agree 100%. The nuance and passion from Justin definitely belongs in that room. Btw, that’s Justin Paul, half of the songwriting duo “Pasek & Paul.”
That is Cynthia Erivo doing them Adlibs but Keala keeping up with her for sure!!!! Proving that both are amazing vocalists and that they both are powerhouse divas!!!!
The amazing Cynthia Erivo did about half of the adlibs, Keala Settle did the other half.Cynthia is now shooting the movie version of Wicked, where she will play Elphaba with Ariana Grande as Galinda/Glinda.
YES YES YES, more Greatest Showman please! I loved this movie so much I saw it in the theater SIX TIMES! The songs were so inspiring and uplifting, my heart felt full every time I saw it. And as others have mentioned, that's Cynthia Erivo, who is amazing in everything she's in, that's doing the ad libs.
The one you loved is Cynthia Erivo, she played Harriet in the movie, Celie in The Color Purple and has done movie soundtracks as well. I recommend listening to Stand Up, I’m Here and Fly Before You Fall to get different sounds and understand her variety
There are so many amazing voices in this video, Cynthia Erivo, Loren Allred, Natalie Weiss, Jeremy Jordan, Keala Settle e the list goes on 😂😂 please react to all of them, you’ll love it ❤️❤️❤️
Good eye catching Loren Allred. And having Justin Paul on piano only added to the magic.
High-pitched nasal adlibs are mostly Keala Settle, who played the bearded lady in the film and sang"This is Me". There's also Cynthia Erivo, and the woman with the dark, curly hair next to Natalie Weiss is Loren Allred, who is the actual singing voice for the film in the song "Never Enough".
Loren was there?!!!!!!!!!!
That girl is the queen tony award winner and Oscar nominated Cynthia Erivo herself. She's friend with Pasek and Paul the composers and also Jeremy. She did this while she was doing the color purple on Broadway. Please react to more of her. She's brilliant.
Jeremy was filming supergirl and went to do this as a favor for his friends pasek and Paul and did this workshop while being super sick.
Also, hugh had skin cancer and had a checkup the day before the workshop, where he had like 8 stitches on his noise ND wasn't supposed to sing but he couldn't help himself lol.
Jeremy told the story of how he got involved in this workshop and all of that called "the day I saved the greatest showman" is so good, def should watch that full video 🙏🏻.
And please more of jeremy 🙏🏻
I love his emotions in the newsies its fantastic
Also, that’s Loren Allred next to Natalie Weiss.
That would be Cynthia Erivo AKA our movie Elphaba. She's also playing the Blue Fairy in the new Live Action Pinnochio.
This video is so bitter-sweet. Because they are all amazing, but Jeremy was done so dirty that it just hurts to see it happen. He truly is a class act and a "Show must go on" kind of guy.
The original video was massively popular .
There was about 50 thousand comments on it before they closed the comment section for some stupid reason. It was one of the most positive message sections ever. The video has something like 55 million views. I play it every single day of my life. It easily shows just how powerful music is. In my life, this clip is the most important and greatest thing ever.
I literally get CHILLS. EVERY. DAMN. TIME.
Jeremy was brought in to sing the part that ultimately went to Zac Efron. When the producers found out that Hugh wasn't supposed to sing they asked him to also sing "From Now On"
They asked him to sing everything essentially both PT Barnum and the Phillip Carlyle parts.
what i love about this is that I think that a lot of people dont know about the significance of this moment. The singing isnt Perfect due to the circumstances of the environment and such but what people dont know is that, this meeting of all these people was just to get the green light for the movie to even go ahead. So there was a lot hanging on this moment and especially since Hugh wasnt supposed to sing for this there was already a lot of nervousness but you can tell how emotional all of them are hanging on a moment in time. Great review, love the vids
This will always be one of the most neat spiritual rehearsals of a song I’ve ever seen. If you haven’t done This is Me from this same workshop with Keala Settle singing it for the first time you really need to, it’s possibly even more mind blowing than this.
You HAVE to react to “The day I saved The Greatest Showman” from Jeremy Jordan’s solo show at 54 Below.
The name of the girl is Cynthia Erivo, an actress/singer who won a Grammy and a Tony and will play the role of Elphaba in the Wicked movie.
Pretty sure she was talking about Keala Settle
This has to be one of the best songs I’ve ever heard legit in my entire life and I don’t say that easily and the fact it comes from The Wolverine just makes this all the better lol. Hugh Jackman is a legend.
It’s Cynthia Erivo! She has soooo many amazing ones that you can react to. Especially with Shoshana Bean, live at the Oscars and I’m Here live! X
I absolutely love those Videos. I always get goosebumps from head to toe and get tears in my eyes🥺. This energy from everyone in the room. I kinda like those Videos even more then the originals from the movie/recordings.
in this video hugh jackman sings shortly after an op. he had a tumor removed from his nose. He actually had an absolute singing ban. But he just had to sing this song. The emotions are really palpable. You can even see the nose starting to bleed at the seams. Sorry i come from Germay and hope you know what I mean.
I love your Videos and I'm a hughe Fan.
Best wishes
You should watch jeremy jordans video "how i saved the greatest showman"😅
04:16- The young lady in the ensemble, with the curly hair in the front row, wearing black and burgundy is Loren Allred- the original singer of Never Enough. She just sang a new version of Never Enough on AGT Fantasy League in January. Quite a story on her.
A story that was embellished, but yes a story.
@@jaimemactx These shows always do that, including taking clips from other performances and sticking them in her clip. And she already was part of the Ensemble for the movie, which is obvious from this video, when they asked her to sing the demo. But, still an outstanding performance on AGT.
The energy in that room during that song must have been incredible! I don't know what I wouldn't give to be there during that performance!
That video made me cry a bunch of times...I'd say every first rewatch
Songs that are both heartfelt and strongly rhythmed just get me (the feels and extreme joy)!
There's something truly spiritual coming together and singing like this, just goosebumps, all the way around. I enjoyed listening to your react, thank you.
Hugh had skin cancer removed. He did end up popping his stitches.
Jeremy was brought in to sing for hugh because Hugh wasn’t supposed to. This was to get the show approved.
I have watched this video many times!!
His nose isn’t broken. He had an operation to remove skin cancer in his nose. He wasn’t supposed to be singing otherwise it would rupture his stitches, but…this video is the result.
This song and this performance in particular is my happy place. I love to see someone to be as excited watching this as I am.
One guy that doesn't get credit enough is the guy playing the piano! In this one he is literally bouncing while playing! And in "This is me" he stands up, carried away by the moment and I love it!
I believe that is one of the song writers, Justin Paul.
Jeremy IS disappointed!! You should watch his performance of this, he talks about everything that's happened
This link ruclips.net/video/08AGzOmCk-s/видео.html
Came here to say the same thing!
She already reacts to it in separate video
@@Intersectingstuff oh really? Didn't watch it. Guess she just didn't connect the dots then 😅
@@Intersectingstuff can't see it have you got the link?
Not to sound lame but I said the exact same thing. I so wanted to be in there and what an amazing jam session! How awesome the video did that.
This video always gives me goosebumps!! You can just feel the ENERGY and PASSION!!! 💖💖💖
Hugh Jackman is amazing! Have you seen Eddie The Eagle. It’s amazing. Highly recommend.
His voice gives me goosebumps. He’s so incredibly talented (and handsome!)
You should watch Keala Settle do This is me with this same setup. The studio version is good but the version where they’re pitching the movie is so much more emotional and just gives me chills every time I watch it.
goosebumps all OVER my body!! i love this!!!
I mean, Jeremy was thinking NOOOOO, he talked about it in a video called the day I saved the greatest showman or something like that
ruclips.net/video/08AGzOmCk-s/видео.html here it is
i love this reaction. because that was literally me when i first saw this. such an amazing and talented group of people making amazing music because it's fun - watching sth like this makes me so happy. music is great :D
the amazing singer doing the adlibs was Cynthia erivo she is so great, her voice is literally perfect, you should whatch a video of her singing "I´m here" from the color purple
I love how excited you get with your reaction to good singers. I saw Hugh Jackman in The Boy From Oz on Broadway years ago and he is just an amazing entertainer. I will also add myself to the list of people who would love to see you react to Jeremy Jordan "The day I saved the Greatest Showman".
I love his passion he is such an amazing actor and singer.
I always love when the guy in the red sweatshirt claps the beat in, they just kicked it up to another level after that.
I've always been attracted to Hugh Jackman, ever since I saw/heard his recording of Oklahoma. (Also a massive fan of Shuler Hensley who plays Jud in that recording). People with musical talent immediately are 1000% more attractive to me.
If you'd like to know how Jeremy Jordan felt at this moment, before, and after, you should watch, listen, and react to Jeremy singing this:
ruclips.net/video/08AGzOmCk-s/видео.html
Yup that's the one I'm talking about
Definitely worth watching. Love that video
Need to watch!
Great, now i can't unsee what's really happening at this performance 😆. Hugh stole the moment from Jeremy 😫.
I love how it's played off like he stole the moment then wasn't cast etc. He wasn't promised anything. I'm so over that dude
OH MY Goodness! I've watched this clip for probably hundreds of times. It's a great pick-me-up, and your reaction video brings a huge smile to my face because we have so many same reactions like how I want to be in the room so bad, and I've also followed Natalie's page for many years. Just some other things you might or might not notice.
At 4:36, Hugh probably felt something came out of his noise.
At 4:55, Natalie, being a true youtube, was filming the session on her phone, haha.
There's so much going on here. Thank you for doing this reaction video!
I want to blast this song when I get one year sober
I almost start yelling this song back at them every time I watch this because the way that they sang it, just can feel every word.
A whole vibe
I love the Greatest Showman and your videos!!!!
Oh my gosh pleaseee watch Keala Settle's rehearsal performance too, it's absolutely incredible. She was so nervous on the day and Hugh Jackman was hyping her up for it and he ended up crying during it, it's just such a lovely video and her voice is INCREDIBLE!
The talent in that room is off the charts:
Jeremy Jordan
Natalie Weiss
Loren Allred
Keala Settle
Cynthia Erivo
Justin Paul (half of Pasek and Paul)
Reminds me of that bit from the blues brothers at the church. Everyone joking in having fun ect
Knowing her voice, the adlibber is probably Keala Seattle. She got hella famous for her powerful voice and how she used it in “This Is Me.”
I loved the green Lid Videos too. So so so Great ❤
Cynthia Erivo is doing the Singing! she is just AMAZING
Love this so much
Jeremy was supposed to be cast in the movie, but after he helped out they decided to go with Zac Efron. There is a whole Video of Jeremy singing and telling the story of how he ”saved” the Gratest Showman. I highly recommend Watching it. It’s sad but soooooo good.
That's sad. Zac can't sing so they should have went with Jeremy
@@ForeverSweetx3 zac can sing relatively well, but he’s definitely not on the level of Jeremy or Hugh
Blond hair woman is Cynthia Erivo 😍😍😍😍😍😍 I love her! She was Harriet Tubman in the movie Harriet. And now recently she played the fairy and the new movie Pinocchio!!!!
Jeremy is me when my friends are singing XD, but Jackman, that man is unstoppable.
I wish I could have been in the room to hear this live. SOMETHING powerful happened there, and god to see and FEEL that energy would have been insane
For those who loves music / loves to sing will, i mean WILL love these 2 vids.. The vibe of the room damn..
Cynthia Erivo is the one taking you to church right there. Hopefully joining the EGOT club this year. She’s basically royalty.
That is the amazing Cynthia Erivo! Color purple!!!! I’m sure you’ve already seen some of her work, she is truly a blessing!
Instant chills
"Ouuuu the hell there'' 🤣🤣🤣🤣 you are in love in fact! I don't even here what he sings...
He had had a tumour removed from his nose and was told not to sing. However, he did and his stitches burst. He then had to go to hospital to have them put back in. That is dedication for you.
I am always crying when i watch this performance 😍 i react just the same as you haha
If you don't already know it was a skin cancer. I fell in love with this movie within the first minute of the first song. I knew Hugh could sing I just never heard him until then.
You are saying hoo hoo and I'm thinking Hugh, Hugh! 😄😆😋
I love Jeremy Jordan.. been on a newsie kick lately every since rac is in west side..
There's a video with Jeremy where he says the time I saves the greatest showman
My favorite movie and love this song.
This presentation to the producers and studio folks for sure got the "green light" and got the movie made.
I believe what he's singing. Man crushworthy
this song never fails to make me emotional, its so full of life and this makes me think of what will happen when i turn 18 and finally get to take control of my life
So good! This video makes me so happy and jealous bc I’m not there and I wish I could sing half as good as them. Also I wish high would do another one man show, i missed the first one bc I didn’t know he was doing it until it was over. I would die a happy woman lol. He’s so talented and hot!
I saw hugh live in brisbane Australia on his tour he was so good
oh my god i loved your energy
That’s the one and only Cynthia doing the adlibs! I’m so glad she has a name for herself now a days.
These videos are from the workshop presentation for the Executive Producers and Studio Executives hoping to get the project greenlit. There were only 3 people that knew the male leads: 1) Hugh; 2) Justin (songwriter;) 3) Jeremy (Pasek & Paul had Jeremy record reference tracks for the male lead parts.)
There was no understudy for Hugh because at that point there was no film.
Cynthia Arrivo is the blonde. English Broadway actress and actress in many movies. She was nominated for and Oscar and has an album out. Love her voice
Wow ❤❤❤
you should for sure react to “the other side” from the greatest showman! its my personal favourite
I never watched Les Misérables so this was my introduction to Hugh Jackmans singing voice... and my first thought was omg wolverine can sing
His career started on Broadway ❤
Seeing the Jeremy Jordan story behind this really changes the moment completely
What happened
