You can refill water buckets inside the washtub! Put a tub outside your tavern and you can quickly refill your buckets. Bread made with dirty bathwater LOL
You can tell how production works because its indicated on the right. For instance, if your fisher is fishing and you have 50% on fishing and 50% on dried fish your production numbers will represent that percentage. This can be checked by simply putting 100% on fishing and noting the increase in fish received.
Yeah, I mentioned that a few day ago as well, he will eventually find the house across from him home and do it, I hope. Think he looked one time but not at the correct house.
@Kage848 have you tried storing the rot in the food resource and seeing if that's where the peons pull the rot from rather than you always transfering it from the barn and into the resource storage. also where peons get their resources from is fairly basic, you are confusing it by making it convoluted and then getting lost by making threads that aren't there. when making stuff yourself you need it on your person so when you looked at the flour you couldn't just make it, a peon will take food based products from the food resource shed, or from their operating chest. aka grains from the food storage shed will be used by your peons when making flour in the barn, no transfer necessary, also your peons have a preference of placing items they have gathered/made food goes to the food resource shed, and if that fills up it will then go to their work place chest. the problems you always had before the experimental version, is that your food chest was always over capacity which you then lost track of where gathered food resources were stored.
Great vid as always Kage. If you can't get to your chests or anywhere because the npcs are blocking it, you can use the dialogue options to ask them to move a little. It works 99% of the time for me, only fails when the other npcs block the npc I ask to move lol.
the fence actually makes the farms more historical, large farmarea's didn't excist (these were the times they had to harvest by hand) so it were all 'small' field that were seperated by eather a small stone fence or wooden sticks like your, and also, it was to keep animals out... you didn't want anymals (domestic or wild) to feed on your crops...
You can use the L-Alt vision to see inside your farms - what's ploughed, fertilized, seeded and grown. One thing I like is I built a bunch of stone campfires (not the lower tier ones) around all my buildings and streets. Then every night just light them all with the torch and you get this glowing lantern look to your settlement. Makes it look so much better and "lived in" at night!
Does this affect your firewood stores, I had the same idea to lay stone fires around the village to provide some much needed light at night but not if it drains my firewood reserves.
@@Quint1975 I think it does a bit, but once you daub your houses they barely use firewood anyway. In the early years it would be a problem, but I'm in year 6 now. I have about 8 houses all daubed up and they use 1.8 firewood per hour, which is less than my 1 lone lumberjack produces. So once you get the daub done you will have firewood to burn! Let's just say I have 25-30 fires, and it's not causing me any issues.
@@5thPlatoon interesting, I have 5 daubed stone small houses and still the firewood is a factor for me, I'm not sure why exactly.. I'm keeping the npcs in small houses so they don't start babying out my village and destroying my workforce. Still my firewood consumption is way too much for the amount of daubed houses I have built. I'll need to spend more time pinpointing the problem. Of course if we were to get floor mounted standing torches to light at night then I wouldn't need to build loads of stone campfires..
@@Quint1975 Agreed re: standing torches. However, I quite like that of all the villages I visit, only mine has that lit, lived-in feel after dusk. Makes it kind of quaint! Not sure if moving away from thatched roof might help insulate them also. I have wooden tiles on all.
@@5thPlatoon yes I have tiled roofs on them as well, I might have missed a house somewhere, although I'm trying to keep housing all together and separate from crafting.
If you are thinking of visiting Alwin, I found him walking around Gostovia in his new hunter threads, looking all boss after completing his quest. I didnt think to stop and talk to him as I was busy with trade.
Just thought it sounded funny with your road naming, but then again I have only lived in about 6 states. But I seem to notice that Avenues and Streets, usually intersect with each other, and do not run parallel with each other. (Basically most Ave's run in one direction(ex North - South), and street, road, drive, etc run in the other direction(ex East - West). Please keep in mind, that you can and should keep it the way you want, I do like some quirkiness in gameplay.
i like that they are adding new quests that are unique to people and their jobs... but they are kinda silly... girl at the mine says she is scared of the bear, but the mine is the one up north not centre.... the guy in the fishing hut wanted something fancy to eat, and asked for fish.... the person in smithy asked for iron... literally on the ground beside her at anvil....
Hey Kage, here's a tip that will hopefully turn you from a 7 coin Andy to a multimillionaire. Get yourself a good blacksmith and have them turn that 600 iron sitting in your storage into some iron arrows. As you know, they're super lightweight and sell for 350 a stack. All you need to do go on a trip visiting villages, as you already do for quests, every season and you can easily get 10-15K per season. One thing worth mentioning is that you need to control your stick situation so pumping that production up a bit will be necessary. And an easy way to do that is just comparing the incoming sticks to incoming iron, make the stick production a bit higher then that of iron and you're good. PS. I haven't tested this with blacksmiths yet so they might not be able to produce as much as 10-15K worth of arrows per season but it will definitely help your money situation, that is if the devs fixed the NPC crafting for items crafted in stacks of course. I craft my iron arrows myself in the background whilst watching your vids :D
@Nefaryus Drake Oh, you don't need to manually put iron and sticks in the smithy storage anymore. They take resources from the main storage now which is a real blessing for ease of management.
in a way, the amount you set not being filtered to the other one when there's no resources isn't that bad, because say your miner has you overflowing with iron. Or your lumberjack has you with way too much wood.. Rather than yoinking them off the workstation and making them do something else, you can set it at 10% while things get under control. I'm so OCD about watching things like supply for threshing, I switch it soon as it runs out anyway. Things don't need to be totalling 100% all the time, that's why we get way more than we need and bursting storages.
Instead of % on each, use a priority system! Prio 1 on fishing and salting causes 50% on each as long as resources available - prio 1 salting Prio 2 fishing - salt until no resources, then fish ....
Thanks for the video. You were pretty plain about the percentage of work load. I’m not sure how it works, but like you I think it should/ assume it does use that time if there isn’t other stuff to do.
Thx kage for the fishing hut but I asked to place it in the Ave not street u know it has a down river bed and the hut would be more visible... Well whatever thx for that and I would really love to see the Palisades around the town so ur call do what ever u like cause v will surely love it......keep up the good work...🤘 U rock bro.
I think you need to re-start and play the game with the nerfs to spears and NPC's at the new levels. You'll not have the luxury of receiving all the lovely mats quite as quickly and is a truer depiction of what the game is like to play currently. It would be more of a challenge than visiting the resource storage or watching the NPC field workers harvest.
Okay, look at it this way. If you only wanted to produce one thing at the barn but not so much or so fast, if you put it at 10%, then it would produce 100% if you want it your way
Not sure I agree with your take on managing production. It takes like two seconds to manage it and if you tell an npc to thresh flax and wheat 50/50 without having one or both of them available to be threshed then that is your own fault. Just like real life, if I am a bad manager and tell my employee to do something that is impossible then the employee will probably try to do it for eight hours and then go home while getting nothing at all accomplished. 😫

I have already tried the "change their job" approach, i might have to try the exit and load approach. Thank you both for taking time to come up with solutions :)

You missed a daub spot at the peak for one of the houses!!!
Silos would be awesome they used to have stone silos and having individual silos for each grain would be epic
Silo's would be great, as would having a well we could place anywhere.
Fishing, drying, good question for the devs.
I assume you can respec once you reach skill cap, you no longer need the knowledge skill at cap, so that's 3 points to put somewhere more useful.
There doesn't seem to be any difference between rye flour or wheat flour, so any recipe calling for wheat needs the grain and not just the flour
food goes into food storage, gains are considered edible. Flax is not edible so it goes to general storage.
I know what you mean, the devs would need to clarify or something how power is used in those cases
A market would be cool or the tavern can sell to the villagers maybe wonderers or just be able to sell to a world market
Been watching you since Forest. Keep the good work up🤝💯
