Thanks! Yeah, it definitely went to the right person. He joined the rc10talk forum shortly after I started gathering parts for the build, so he was able to help me from the start. He had been wanting to build a replica for himself, so I had both of our chassis sets anodized at the same time, and the bodies were painted at the same time. He still has his original body from the race, so that was an invaluable resource. Once I decided to move mine along, I gave him first right of refusal. So he got the car from me. When I wanted to build this car, since he already had the replica I built, he really didn't need to build the one he was planning. So he sold me his painted body that he no longer needed.
The big tires and wheels will never look right on a vintage car. They need to make some modern tires in the appropriate size. 1.7R an 1.9F I think it was?
Those tires were gone in 1988 with the short arm rc10. This era of rc10 had a 2.1/2.0 or 2.1/2.175 wheels. Jconcepts does offer modern 1.9/1.7 wheels and tires though.
Very nice set up there. The body paint colors, the decals, the purple chassis, Jconcepts wheels...etc. Clean. 👍🏼
Thanks!
Sweet looking build!! It is kind of cool the first one you built went back to the original driver of it! That purple chassis pan looks sweet!!!
