you think Ashoka didn't know what Sabine would do? she's a Jedi trained force sensitive that can read echoes ... she knows and let it happen because she trusts the force and believes in the idea that a student must learn from their mistakes (though she should have been closer cuz she should have known Sabine could be in danger - but Masters aren't infallible and have learning of their own to do)

    • @keithredacted8154

Ahsoka and Sabine literally are not at fault and it was the enemy's. If Ahsoka really was that adamant on keeping the ball on the ship, she would have not took her eyes away from Sabine and would have immediately went after her. Ahsoka just let Sabine do her thing since she was too undecided what the best course of action was.

@@Xenophrenia not trust the force at all. both Hera and Sabine stated that Sabine needs to not be here to work on the map, and Ahsoka and Sabine's difficult relationship means Having her hover over Sabine's shoulder would not help. Without the mad open, they'd go nowhere, so Ahsoka trusted that Sabine, who has been involved in such situations before, would act according to the danger.
while Ahsoka is a force user, she isn't the type to leave everything to the force. and just because you can learn from a mistake does not mean that you have to let your student do every serious mistake.

@@mcanta2898 given the danger factor and the importance of this map - Ashoka positioning herself closer to the situation would have been ideal ... but there is a level in trusting in the force that seems to pervade all the force users we have seen ... she trusted Sabine but also knew there were 2 Jedi type users that had broken Morgan out of the transport - she knew Morgan would pursue the map and that Sabine has very little force abilities and may not be a match for these individuals ... there was enough lack of judgement to be shared with all parties really but there seems to be (at least in these 2 episodes) a level of hands-off that Ashoka takes when the stakes warrant a bit more attention ;-)

    • @mcanta2898

@@Xenophrenia it's the trusting in the force that I don't believe. Sabine is a trained and experienced mando, who knows both the mando fighting style and the jedi, and has trained with and against both. she is a great and experienced figher, and though fighting agaist someone force sensitive is an added challenge, she is far frm the first mandolorian we have seen fight against a force user and provide a challenge. I rater think it is less trust in the force, but trust in sabine. the force can be a great guide and all, but ultimatly it is the decisions people make that determines what happens.

To be fair, this is a post-Empire time period, there's no looming threat to Ahsoka or Sabine's knowledge that would be after the witch ball. The only one to Ahsoka's knowledge who knew about the witch ball was Morgan Elsbeth but for all Ahsoka knows she's on a transport ship headed towards prison. She also knows Sabine isn't going anywhere far because (spoiler but not really) she always stays on Lothal. It's an important arc in her story that's explained in Rebels. Additionally, I personally think Ahsoka was testing Sabine in this moment. There is a lack of trust implied by their standoffish chemistry and I think this was just a test of trust between master and apprentice. Nevertheless, they are both at fault for their carelessness considering how important the witch ball artifact was to them.

The character's name is Shinn Hati, and her master is Baylan Skoll. Skol and Hati are wolves from Norse mythology that chase the sun and moon and, during Ragnarok, are supposed to eat the sun and moon to bring darkness to the world. They're children of Fenris wolf, the wolf who's supposed to start Ragnarok. Fenris is one of Loki's children, so, *TECHNICALLY* Shin is *kinda* like Loki's grandchild.

Can’t find anything about the actor name thing. For Hera’s father Cham Syndulla, a clone wars episode writer said his first and last names are derived from the words "charm" and "sin," to hint that he could be good or bad
I’ve been iffy about establishing Sabine as force sensitive when there’s been no indication of it, but then I was reminded that Leia was also force sensitive and barely started sensing things by EpV, and that was just bc Luke reached out to her. It can remain dormant from lack of training, knowledge, or faith. Plus Huyang said her force aptitude falls short of all the younglings he’s known, and he must’ve known hundreds of thousands at least. There is a character with light force sensitivity who can sense the force but isn’t strong enough to use it.
There’s no such thing as grey jedi btw. That’s mainly a fan thing. At least in the sense of using both light and dark
