I ran a two frame plastic extractor with a bucket as an uncapping bucket and did it all in the kitchen up until 20 hives. It was work, but was able to get it done on a dime. Worked for me for years. Very good advice Tim.

That hand cranking is tough but it gets the job done. We do what we have to do. It has been a pretty good season up here , hope things are going well down there. Thanks for watching Mike, take care and God bless you brother.

Place you a paint strainer bag under your sieve. Save you from straining twice, plus frees up the other bucket. Two holding tanks are better than one Brother.

Awesome 😄 New subscriber from central Otago southern New Zealand 👋 im a beekeeper, our main honey flow is Thyme honey in the middle of your winter, January and February. Its the only place in New Zealand where Thyme grows. Great advice for new beekeepers, you don't need a uncapping machine , a forty frame extractor and an capping spinner to get a great result, but you do need to be absolutely clean. I don't think double straining is overdoing it, it pays to get the best results by being diligent 👍👋

Good stuff man. We extracted hundreds if not thousands of pounds of honey using a little 3 frame hand crank extractor. We used a yellow combcapper on a 5 gallon bucket with a serrated knife. Did it in our one car garage. Now we have grown and have some nicer fancier stuff. Really nice video with some good advice. You have the perfect setup for your situation. And you are smart by growing into your equipment as you can afford it.

Thanks Bruce, I think a lot of times people want to put to much pressure on themselves with stuff. This is beekeeping, it is supposed to be fun. Looks like you had a great harvest. Congrats. Thanks for watching and God bless you.

I loved watching you up close & personal & loved hearing how you upgraded (sell it - use profit to buy) & appreciated your ingenious improvisation getting there. I read others comments & hope they further help you too. Your video gives new meaning to cleanliness is next to Godliness. Love & God Bless You.

I just switched from a 3/6 manual to 9/18 hillco. Save dollar until they add up and buy quality when you spend. Good advice. Grow slow is the way to go.

Ha enjoyed your video I used a 4 frame hand crank extractor until last year Then I was able to buy a electric extractor. I use a 5-gal bucket for uncapping and i got a hive butler like u got there. but I use the butler to hold the frames after i uncap them. I use my kitchen for extracting the honey, I want to use the garage. I got 318 lb of honey this year and sold it all. I am now able to start letting the bees pay for the new equipment and the sugar and mite treatments. Took a while but that is ok. I love being a keeper of the bees. I increased my apairy this year by 20 looking to have 40 production hives, for next spring. I would like to get 600 lb of honey that is the goal. Maybe 1 day. The bees can be doing great and the weather just be so poor anyway again the video was good hope u have a blessed week

Sounds a lot like me, it took a while but it starts paying off after a while. I love keeping bees as well, they are smart for sure. I have 8 and that is about my limit for now, but they sure can multiply. Good luck and thanks so much for watching. Where are you located at?

Im from South Carolina and i am new to bee keeping but i love it. I started with 2 wild caught swarms and now im up to 4 hives after splitting one of the hives down into 3 hives. It is a very productive hive and i would love to graft off of the queen next year.

Hi from southern New Zealand 👋 if you're interested in learning Queen grafting, a north american beekeeper Kamon Reynolds has some excellent RUclips videos for the beginner. It's not hard to learn, but you're picking up tiny little bee grubs, a magnifying glass really helps,😂 once you've got the hang of it you can graft your own queens till the cows come home so it's a really great skill to have and can save you a lot of money and time.👍
