This is great. I’ve had my GT100 3 years and wasn’t getting the sounds that I wanted, and never thought to change this. It’s now firing up huge tones :)
OMG this is great!! The sound is really different!!!! It let me add gain without loosing tonality and colour. I have to have it on -11 with my humbuckers... Thank you
Yes that is true, this is the very importend thing to get the best posible sound! And it is the very first step to manage the board and style the sound patches!
Excellent!!! Thanks a great needed calibration for my GT-100. My signal was clipping 😮. Also, it improved the swell of my passive external volume pedal in front of the GT-100 (Ernie Ball VP Jr 250k) 👍
OK, thanks - I think...Just got my GT-100, am only a half-hour in, but noticed it's like there's a threshold my guitar pickup has to get over before the sound emits - noticeable particularly with a tremolo sound patch. Fades in and out, unless I have the gain pot turned fairly high. This would seem like the most likely suspect - the previous owner (a day ago!) demo'd it to me with a dual humbucker Chapman guitar. Will get on it, great tip thanks.
As soon as I stop laughing from the voice over I am going to start using my Boss like A Fudgin' Boss \o_, Thanks Gabriel, the dust was starting to settle !!!
Its Boss Tone Studio. Download from Boss site directly for your product. In this case www.boss.info/us/products/gt-100/downloads/ Scroll down to find the version for you. There you will also find updates for the unit.
Should you also max out your volume on the guitar? Or just leave the GT100 input at 0, and bump up the guitar til it hits the threshold, and should at max on pick up, it never hits the threshold, then increase the GT100 input level?
Or better question, is it better to leave the GT100 input at 0, then increase the input til its at threshold. And if there is room on the pick up volume, is it better to not be at max on the guitar, and then increase the input on the GT100 instead? Or max on the guitar, but forcing the GT100 input to be lower to compensate?
Gabriel Chaheen I guess the problem is I use an acoustic guitar so I need that extra space for when I do solos to bump the volume on the fly. I'll probably mark on my knob where it hits the peak so I know cause my pickup has no numbers on it haha. Thanks this was an awesome help. I can tell if it peaks on the output with the rc20 visual Que but it's good to know it's not clipping in the pedal too!!
@@rythmandblooze8937 Lol, damn, thanks. It's been years I put out this video. Ok, well, are you trying with the software? It doesn't make a difference, but just coz it's so much easier to see what's happening. Completely blank patch, erase everything. Just activate the way it's said. Now, are you plugging directly right? Guitar-GT. Cable/wireless ok? Now, man, which caps do you have? Could simply be you have very old vintage single coils that have a very low output. Not a problem, good I guess, you can leave at max and just keep doing your sound. Chill that it's not gonna clip and it's receiving a decent amount of input. Cheers
@@GabrielAngelfire Thanks for the reply Gabriel , the problem is solved i had ACCEL/CTL set to SYSTEM needs to be on PATCH that way it works like yau explained . I set it back to PATCH afterwords 👋
Sorry for the delay. I think it should be better to calibrate without the preamp. Since it's only for solos you're not gonna be hitting it hard. Single notes on high strings send a much lower signal already. Probably won't get even near as the heavy strum without it. Tip: Compare. Calibrate without boost, heavy strumming. Then activate and play a solo.
Gabriel... Can you tell me if the Gt can have as many stomp units in front of the amp or even after as you like... i.e Two EQ's , two OD or Three T screamers if I wanted that......... Great vid by the way..
You mean real pedals or the programmable blocs? Real pedals you can do whatever you want. I had a hardwired overdrive pedal in front it coz I loved it and there was nothing like it, but ended up just using the Gt. Maybe you want to put a specific delay pedal after it? Sure. I'd understand about the EQ, the GT lacks a bit in it. Sure, put EQ pedals wherever you feel should be. In front, after, in the loop. You could have an EQ right after the GT, making it kinda a "global" EQ you can easily change, in fact that's actually a great idea. In professional mixes you usually have a "final" eq anyways in the late stage.
Buzzing could be a million different things. Could be the signal? Could be, but I'd check cables, pedals, power plugs and interference with other electronic stuff first (like it's right next to your pc, tv or something). Thanks a lot for watching.
Man, don´t use one of your playing patches to do this. Use a "spare" patch, like, the last number or something, it´s just to calibrate input level, it´s a general setting (basically, per guitar, if they have very different pickups) and it´s applied to the entire system. Don´t use a playing patch to do this. Reserve one just for these kind of stuffs. Cheers!
Most excellent video my man!! Thank you very much. I so agree with you Boss should have included a Calibration Patch as the GT-100 has way to many levels to adjust and you can easily have it setup in correctly. This really changed my sound as now all my guitars sound much clearer and not fuzzy which I didn't know they where until I used this. Man your awesome!!! So now there is another level adjustment that needs to be attended to that I wish/hope there is something like this to adjust. The Send and return levels. When using the 4CM , I would love to know where to set the send and return levels correctly. I have tried levels from 94 to 106 and I'm never sure what is right for my rig. I have the output level set to +4 as my effect loop was designed for Rack effects and not -10 Pedals. Any videos or tips on how to get the send and return levels correct?
You can use whatever speakers you normally use to plug your gt in. In fact, you could do it without even a speaker and just watching the red light, it's measuring the input signal, not the output. But, you gotta plug your gt somewhere to play right? lol
I haven't found yet the need for the Accel button setting. The calibration is performed IMHO just within the Assign to input level. It should trigger the Pedal FX (and its light) if signal is hot (between 126 and 127) Am I right? Thanks
Put it after a delay. Cut your volume knob and hit the accel with delaying into it. You can get a cool effect of the delays going higher and higher in pitch. All I can find for it really . Lol
it's always good to know. Now why didn't Boss simply place a f**** meter on the front like Rocktron Prophesy? 2 f**** screens wasted with huge bank number and name.. could've used one to show how's the input level.
I think this is the only automated voice I've heard on RUclips that I actually liked

Never thought I'd still get comments on this, lol. Much glad I could help. Thanks for checking out.
Please I have Gt100 but cannot download the boss on my computer as shown on your. What to do??
WOW Was ready to get rid of my GT-100 then I discovered this. What a difference. Good Job.
Very much glad it helped.
Don't even have my Gt-100 anymore, but I still watch this, lol. All tutorials should be like this.
lol, thanks

great stuff man, i had to set my strat +5 and my schecter -11 , they sound great , gave -me way more control over my pedalboard, thanks a lot

Great tutorial. Thanks my friend.
Thanks I'll try this approach, with my insane D activator pickups
This is a great one! Thanks!

Gabriel Chaheen and thanks for the subscribe! Most new stuff is through the gt so hoping to dive deeper into the Pedal!
I tried this step by step but even with the input level all the way up the red light isn't flashing ....

Phew... I know that my EMG guitar has alot of output, but I have to set the unit to -16dB... Is this possible?
Same issue (EMG81-85) have you tried it on the stage or while recording? if you tried how was it?
Wah auto-engage as a reference... Nice tip!
Hello.
This Video helped me. Question, how did you blank all the Presets?
Thank you
Sorry for the delay. To be honest, I don't remember, so long ago. I probably just deleted one by one. A few patches everyday until it was clean.

Send them to a board so you can read the signal strength from them. You may want setting more than just a clipping light
What kind of speakers are you using to do this? Do you need monitors for this?
You can use whatever speakers you normally use to plug your gt in. In fact, you could do it without even a speaker and just watching the red light, it's measuring the input signal, not the output. But, you gotta plug your gt somewhere to play right? lol

Duuudeee you R a genius !!!!!!!!
how do you hook it up to the computer and get a screen like that? it's possible to control and save everything from the computer?
***** thank you so much
Is that a dalek I hear?
Do I do this for each guitar I have?
If they are very different (different output pickups) it's a good idea yeah. Input level is easy to change.
thanks man
I recently got a BOSS GT-10 ver 2.03, does it work with Windows 10? still not being detected by the pc for TOne studio... anyone can help?thanks!
