      Agreed, and that's a real shame... That fact, among other things, made me record these videos and share them with all of you!

    That's brilliant. Thank you very much. I have the GT-100 hooked up to my Marshall DSL20CR via the four cable method. What I've been looking to do is to be able to switch the preamp in the GT-100 on and off, or the S/R on and off with the press of one pedal. This looks like the perfect way to do it. Whilst the GT-100 has some great sounding amp models built in, so does my DSL sound great too both on the classic gain and ultra gain channels. It's great to be able to simply switch between the two.

    Great info! I wish there was a way to have one patch so in manual mode the phrase loop was a phrase loop, and on another it was just another assign (like a/b). Maybe there is... :) Thanks again! When I mess around I like to use phrase loop, but when jamming I like having an extra pedal for fuzz or something.

    • @GuitarNTabs
      @GuitarNTabs  4 года назад

      Hi!
      If you're in Manual Mode, then you can set up the ACCEL/CTL to control Assigns. You just have to scroll and find the parameter called CTL ASGN or ASGN CTL, something along those lines. Then you can have your Phrase Loop, and the ACCEL/CTL for adding another effect, or several others, if you want that.
      Let me know if you have further questions.
      All the best.

  • @poinkero
    @poinkero 3 года назад +1

    Nice! I hope they also added for Source in the assigns Num Pedal 1, 2, 3, 4 so users can use them to change parameters in Manual Mode, and not just to turn on-off effects. Like if you want lesser Chorus level when turning on the OD. Or you want to change the Comp parameters when the OD is on.

    • @GuitarNTabs
      @GuitarNTabs  3 года назад

      You have the Assigns available for that, you just have to set them up on the Accel or Phrase Loop pedals.

    • @GuitarNTabs
      @GuitarNTabs  2 года назад

      Hi Aldo Gulino.
      Thanks for your comment and question.
      Sure, I'd be happy to.
      In general both the Phrase Loop and Accel/CTL can be used to set up and control Assigns, within all patches on the GT-100. This will allow you to do a great number of things, for example, control different FX parameters, switch several FX on/off as well as engage boosts and lead/solo parameters. By default the Phrase Loop footswitch is set to operate the Looper, but this can easily be turned off, in one of the menus.
      You have a total of 8 available Assigns, which can pretty much be set to do anything - then you also have the CTL1 and CTL2, which can be "unlocked" if you add an external footswitch, like the FS-6 or FS-7 to the GT-100.
      These are the main points, and I moght have forgotten af few things, so please ask away, if you have any further questions.
      Looking forward to hear from you.
      Best regards.

    • @GuitarNTabs
      @GuitarNTabs  3 года назад +2

      Hi there, twoputt5.
      Thank you, I appreciate that.
      That's because there's another effect already assigned to the Phrase Loop pedal, and when you then engage the octave, the already assigned effect is taken out, and therefore the light goes off.
      You need to go into the Assign menu, and see which effect is already assigned to the Phrase Loop as well.
      I hope this makes sense.

      Hello there,
      Thank you, I appreciate the kind words.
      On your amp there should be an input called FOOTSWITCH, and your dedicated Fender amp switcher pedal should be plugged in there.
      Make sure to read the manual for your amp as well, in order to make sure of proper connections.

    Very helpful video! I'm actually using the Num pedal for tuner because it's much easier than using the 1 and 2 switches together.
    I have a question, how to assign the Phrase Loop switch to control the effects or something? There is no such option in CTL/EXP menu.

      @GuitarNTabs  4 года назад +2

      Hey there, Tomasz.
      Thanks for your comment and kind words, I appreciate it!
      Exactly, having to press 2 switches, at the same time, to activate the tuner isn't right.. It's too hard!
      This solution solves that - excellent!
      To activate the Phrase Loop pedal for assigns, you need to make the following adjustments:
      First, press the SYSTEM-buttin, and head to PHRASE LOOP-menu. On the right screen set the PEDAL FUNC from PHRASE LOOP to OFF. This has now disabled the Looper function.
      Now you can use the Phrase Loop Pedal for assigns. Next, press the CTL/EXP-button, and head to your first available assign. Set the SOURCE to P. LOOP PEDAL - this is the Phrase Loop pedal. Now you're able to carry on with setting up your assign(s) for the Phrase Loop Pedal.
      The Phrase Loop Pedal doesn't have a dedicated assign footswitch, like the Accel, for example, but will have to be set in the available assigns - A1 to A8. I hope all of this makes sense.
      Let me know if not!
      Best regards.

    First off great videos have been a huge help in navigating a gt100 and its possibilities I have a gt 100 katana 100 with ga fc foot switch , and have been considering buying a fs6 foot switch and extra expression pedal for extra assigns ie, one switch for tuner and into manual mode, but I was thinking roland fc 300( or something you can think of maybe behringer fcb 1010) or another gt 100 may be another option with more possibilities with more bang for buck. Any thoughts ?

      Hmm, I'm not sure I quite follow... The GT-100 should be plenty filled with possibilities - also for what you need.
      An extra footswitch like the FS-6 would be a good thing, but I'd recommend the FS-7 instead. An extra EXP pedal could be good as well. I don't think the FC-300 or FCB1010 would do any good.. It would probably take up more space than necessary.
      An extra footswitch and EXP would do good.

      @@GuitarNTabs I mainly use it in manual mode I set it up as you have shown fx 1, 2, compressor, od, delay, chorus, phrase loop off replaced with channel a/b, pre amp, so I can use the channels on katana amp. I was thinking about getting a foot switch for extra assigns maybe for tuner, manual mode or as you know any number of parameters that could be used. Use an extra fx pedal as a wah. Where im from the fs 7 costs $90 and a roland or boss exp pedal $100 to $150 respectively new maybe cheaper second hand, but a roland fc $420 Or behringer pc $300 New, so for a bit extra I have 2 expression pedals and probably 8 switches. And then I could switch the banks and patches in manual mode, have phrase loop pedal on in the gt 100 , use 3 rd exo pedal to increase od drive level or anything else my crazy brain can think of, do I need it probably not to be honest but i thought it be more bang for buck and way to access more effects at once at your feet.

      An extra footswitch is always a good idea - it's a good investment!
      I hear what you're saying, and in that sense, then I get it, but.. Going with the Behringer or Roland board, it won't give you more assigns - you still only have 8 in total, per patch... Of course, you could use the FC-300's MIDI controls, and let that help you switch presets - I've seen other players do that, and that's quite smart. I'm just not sure it will make things easier.. But I totally get where you're coming from and your thoughts!

      The patches displayed with a "P" are the Factory Presets, and the ones displayed with a "U" are the User Presets.
      The Factory Presets can be altered and adjusted, but the settings can't be saved.
      The User Patches can be altered and adjusted, and the settings CAN be saved, and stored to the desired location you want.
      You can take a Factory Preset and save it to a User Patch location, and edit it from there, also being able to save the adjustments.
      In the Manual the patches are the same, the difference is just that the Factory Presets can't be saved.
      I hope this makes sense.

      Greetings, Gaurav and a Merry Christmas to you 🎄
      Sorry for the late reply, but I've been without internet for a few days...
      Thanks for your comment and question, I really appreciate it.
      Sure, what you're asking is indeed possible. By using the GT-100's Assigns you're able to set up and control up to 8 effects or parameters, on each patch. I actually have some Assign videos on my Channel - links here:
      GT-100 - How To Assign - ruclips.net/video/wx62AsOYdfo/видео.html
      GT-100 - How To Assign Multiple Effects - ruclips.net/video/-AwR5c_VapM/видео.html
      GT-100 - How To Assign In Tone Studio - ruclips.net/video/1hEQXn1qnOI/видео.html
      Take a look at the videos above - that will probably give you a better understanding of the Assigns.
      The way you would do it, could look something like this:
      Start by setting up your "base" sound - so in your case, start by setting up the clean channel and activate the Delay effect. Once that is done, press the CTL/EXP button and find the ACCEL-icon. Then, on the right-hand screen, you should be able to scroll through different effect options, so scroll until you find OD/DS and then press EXIT until you return to the standard screen. Then make sure to save your settings, by pressing the WRITE button.
      That should prety much be it. Let me know if this makes sense.
      Best regards.

    • @GuitarNTabs
      @GuitarNTabs  5 лет назад +1

      Hey there, Jamie 😊
      Thanks for your comment and question - I appreciate it!
      Well.. the simplest setup would be to connect the GT-1 via USB, to your PC. This enables the GT-1's onboard preamps/cabinets, along with its effects, of course. I generally use it that way - it sounds great, and it's quite simple to get going.
      There's also the option of running the GT-1 in front of an amplifier, disabling its onboard preamps/cabinets, only using it for effects, and recording the speaker of your amplifier, like it's always been done. However, that's a hard task, and it will require more equipment than the above solution...
      What are your thoughts? Let me know.

    • @GuitarNTabs
      @GuitarNTabs  5 лет назад

      @@VASIJAS7 - Hey there 😊
      You're welcome! It's quite simple.
      You'll need a USB cable, connect it to the GT-1's USB out and then to your PC's USB in.
      Then, make sure to have the Boss GT-1 Driver installed. You can find the driver on the Boss webpage, under the Drivers & Updates tab - just Google search it.
      Once the Driver is installed, the PC will recognize the GT-1, once it's connected.
      You then have the option to also install the Boss Tone Studio for the GT-1. Tone Studio lets you edit, save and export patches on the PC, instaed of doing it on the unit itself. But, you don't need that to just connect the GT-1 to your computer.
      For the actual recording you'll need a recording software program - I would recommend Audacity, which is FREE.
      It's easy and great to navigate through, so Google search that as well.
      Are there anything more you would like to know, or need? Please let me know, I'm happy to assist.
