FNAF 1 Foxy essentially. Which if you seen my lore video, all the animatronics used in FNAF1 location, where indeed the OG's from an original location. Pre Dating 1987 FNAF2. Hence whey they are withered in 1987 FNAF2, then refurbed for FNAF1 location. The video part shows comparison from the FNAF1 design, to FNAF2

Plot twist: Foxy just really hates Freddy and attacks anyone with a Freddy head on sight. This is why Toy Freddy stays inside his gamer room in UCN.

Phone guy kinda explains why, I think its night 2 or one of the nights, he explains that the company originally wanted to reuse the withereds and began retrofitting them with newer technology but ditched the idea, so all the withereds may have some sort of facial recognition system just like the toys making them think you are Freddy with the mask on. But phone guy also said that Foxy was always twitchy, so Foxy must've had alot of problems, so the company most likely always had a plan to replace him, so they did not give him any newer technology, which means he doesn't have the facial recognition software the other animatronics have, allowing him to see through the mask. And the puppet is for obvious reasons since the puppet isn't actually a animatronic and was never supposed to move so the puppet doesn't have the software either.
the last statement is untrue because of the security puppet, they were an animatronic, and could move.

@GladSC the puppet can only use strings to move around the building, it only broke free to get out of the building to get to Charlie somehow when it wasn't designed to move freely.
Actually it's established you can trick the animatronics into thinking your one of them by wearing an animatronic suit. It's what William Afton did in the novels and tried to do in the games only for it to fail spectacularly and cause his springlock failure. However, Foxy isn't fooled by this trick he can clearly see the player is only wearing a mask and he probably thought, "Dude seriously you didn't even even try to disguise yourself properly"
Foxy didn't get facial recognition scanners. The phone guy says they started to give the old ones but gave up, meaning they probably never gave them to foxy.
That actually makes sense lol. I mean clearly the facial recognition never worked well, but it did require the animatronics to distinguish a human face from a mask. So without that, Foxy could deduce that someone wearing a mask could still be a human.
Imagine if their facial recognition was tied to a network that sends and receives orders but Foxy isn't connected to the network. Others would receive orders not to attack the Freddy mask but Foxy wouldn't receive the orders.
Is foxy the only one who doesn't have it?

@@NuclearN Exactly. Depending on the night the AI (which works the same way as custom night, 0-20) will go up for certain characters typically only by one or two points. For example, night 1 of FNaF 1, at 12 am all four are set to 0. At 2 am Bonnie goes up to a 1. There’s a channel I believe called “Tech Rules” that has a good video breakdown of it, and ChickenNinja42 made a video completing the entire game without lights, and did the same for FNaF 2 where he breaks down each night as he plays.

Look at what Foxy looks like when he's alone in Parts and Service. That's the look of boredom, irritation, and misery. He doesn't have any reason to play by the rules of the others. He just says, "Fuck it, we move." whether it be in FNaF 1 or 2. The light mechanic is likely effective because Foxy is already irritated, so the annoying flashy light just pisses him off to the point where he just fucks off.
He's just like "yeah I just don't give a shit anymore fuck this" but then keeps coming back cuz he views the office like we view the fridge at 3 AM when there isn't anything we want to eat

Here's my thoughts on things: we know according to the phone guy that "some of the older models got fitted with the new technology" key word *some*. I simply think withered foxy just never got the facial recognition technology needed to be fooled by the mask

I really like how intense the final night is because you're playing as Mike. Not only are you wearing the suit and head, you even LOOK like him. If Foxy was after Jeremy before there's no way Mike's getting off the "hook"

Thanks for pointing the other stuff out about Foxy - I didnt realise his AI was so high he still turned up during custom night at 0 lol. Maybe Foxy can also see through the disguise of the Freddy head because he was in the Safe Room because FNAF World (Which is semi-canon because of UCN) says “out of order SINCE FNAF 1”, implying that in the other 3 games, he has been out of order. Employees in the Springlock Suits go into the Safe Room before bleeding out like Phone Guy said in FNAF 3. Maybe at one point, Foxy was a Springlock Suit and when the murder happened, he was being stored in the Safe Room while in animatronic mode.

my theory is that he just didn't have most of the new stuff added to him aka facial recognition and most likely the whole patch out the flashing lights thing, in fnaf 1/2 and the extras menu for fnaf 4 the order of the animatronics is always "Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, then Foxy." (there might be more stuff that proves/disproves this but this is just what i remember.) witch this is the order im assuming that the animatronics started to have the new stuff added then that would mean that foxy was last to be worked on. (i haven't read the books in a long time so i dont remember if this is true or not) if the date of the mci is 1985 as said (possibly) in the books then that most likely means that the building as stated in the fnaf one newspapers "will shut down by year's end" witch means 1986, witch would leave a year for them to work on the fnaf 2 building with takes place in 1987, and as i said before, the people working on the animatronics from the 1985 Freddy's (possibly) were working on the animatronics from Freddy - Foxy, would be working on foxy last, and they also stopped working on the animatronics before they were finished retrofitting them with the newer technology. witch is even more proof that they most likely foxy had the least amount of stuff added to him. but thats just what i think. please correct me if im wrong about something that i said, any way's, think you for reading.

Also a theory to back this up! Puppet is a security bot as well made to protect kids (especially Charlie) so if your theory about foxy also being a security bot is true then both he and puppet would need a different form of programming and protocols to be able to tell real animatronics from let’s say a human in an animatronic suite? Or robbers from normal guests. So while the others would all have that “robot mask=robot=friendly” the puppet and foxy would both need a more in-depth scan then the others so they can properly protect and do security jobs
What if Foxy just hates Freddy?
My headcanon is that foxy's endo has really bad eyesight which doesn't let him your face only your figure which would also make him more prone to the flashlight. Tldr foxy has a stigmatism in his only usable eye

@@IAlwaysComeBack412 No, its the same one. AFter FNAF 2, the withered animatronics were reused for FNAF 1. When they were reused, they were given new costumes.
@@IAlwaysComeBack412 Yeah, also to further add on to the convo, the differences are chocked up to the different years these animatronics were produced. Basically FNAF 2 takes place before FNAF 1. The Animatronics in FNAF 2 are based on 80's Animatronics, while the FNAF 1 Animatronics are based on Animatronics from the 90's.

In Security Breach Roxy has diffrent eyes, and is a replacement of Foxy (not saying that its 100% related) maybe foxy's eyes can see through the mask and see a human, like maybe heat vision.

Light truth: the foxy in fnaf two is from the time that fredbear and springbonnie were around with Fredbear and friends being the version you see. Fnaf 1 foxy is a different foxy from the 1990’s, so that comes later. Fnaf 2 foxy is an earlier iteration

Finally, some old school theory. No books, no ""thriller"" movie, just 2015 vids
Here's what's most likely going on: Phoneguy says the Withered animatronics where being retrofitted with newer technology. That being advanced mobility, and more importantly, facial recognition., and then Fasbear Untertainment decided to make the toys because the old models wher, and I quote: ugly and smelled"
So... what's going on? The facial recognition is what allows the mask to work in the first place, issue here is because he either didn't received facial recognition, or he's just "twichy" as Phoneguy puts it. Meaning he's bugging out.
As for the Puppet? Well. People seemed to have forgotten that up until Pizza simulator the puppet wasn't an animatronic, but as it's name suggest, a puppet. There's even strings on it's png image in game that you don't see because of lightning. There's even an unused "puppet in office" image with said strings. So the company wouldn't have bothered with it, and then decided to lock it in a box via rigging a music box once they realised it was "alive" and moved around.
I'm not trying to get technical right now but withered foxy is renovated and reused in fnaf 1 which canonically takes place after fnaf 2😅, but your theories are interesting to hear out and listen to, keep up the good work

Plot twist: if you didn't hear what phone guy says, "they see you as a metal endoskeleton and will forcefully stuff you inside a suit" so when you wear the mask the other animatronics will leave because you were already suited up, but for foxy, he doesn't like any ordinary head he needs the guard to be stuffed fully inside full suit, not only a head. Quick fact check: The foxy in fnaf 2 IS different than the one in fnaf 1. It's really complicated, but put simply, fredbear's family diner was open before the fnaf 1 location, but it closed after the bite of 87. Afton was desperate to re-brand (and to kill again), so he opened another location where he began his killing spree again, putting kids bodies into the suits just like in the original location. So they are different foxys from different times, which is why they look slightly different. Fnaf 1 foxy looks more cartoonish and rounded, while fnaf 2's foxy looks more slender and acrid. Great video, btw.

It may not be a case of Foxy seeing through the mask, but a case of Foxy being too impulsive to notice the mask. (He attacks from the hall, the others from the security room)

Another thing to keep in mind is that the eyesight of the Withered animatronics isn't nearly as sophisticated as it is for the Toy animatronics. Going off of what phone guy tells us, the Toys are the first animatronics to have integrated facial recognition systems.
It may very well be the case that the Withered/FNAF 1 animatronics don't recognize individual people but instead see people based on the color they're wearing the most of. It would also explain why the animatronics attack anyone wearing the guard uniform. To them, all of the security guards are one and the same.
Foxy in fnaf 2 is the embodinment of a slow disappointed head shake accompanied by the "Really.." look in his eyes

Foxy didn't get the new technology the others got. Foxy was a bit twitchy and they probably had trouble with him, so they didn't put the new technology in him.

Anyone noticing when foxy turns into ''Withered foxy'' Many things change about his appearance. His ears change shape , at first it is wide and contains a sharp top , then it changes to thin and rough top and it also becomes slightly taller. His eyes change their size,At first theyre small , Then they become bigger and wider. His jaw is at first circled,Then it turns to triangle-like. His hook seems to be normal at first,But then the hook becomes thicker and has to spots at the top. At first he has eyebrows then they magically disappear. Look at his toes at 0:55 you might notice at first he has two fingers on each toe,Then when he becomes withered he has Three fingers on each toe. You can also notice foxy at first is a little short,When he becomes withered he gets a power up,And becomes taller. Beautiful explenation but I can answer why foxy attacs the freddy mask. Do you remember the first minigame of fnaf 1? William is wearing the freddy costume instead of the sprigbonny one. This means that if Withered Foxy is Foxy from fnaf one, then he has seen Purple Guy with the Freddy costume on. The rest can be deducted by your video.

I remember phone guy explaining Foxy though, Scott did a great job with it cuz he really sounds like he's just remembered something different about Foxy.
"I loved those old characters. Uh, did you ever see Foxy the Pirate? Oh wait, Foxy... Oh yeah, Foxy. Uh, hey listen! Uhh, that one was always a bit twitchy. Uh... I'm not sure if the Freddy head trick will work on Foxy."
This is also different from how he talks about the puppet, not just because he doesn't like it, he also describes it as "thinking"

So I'd think that Foxy simply works differently than the others, while the puppet is smarter. there's also the fact that Foxy just sprints down the hallway and dives at you, so maybe he's just jumping at movement regardless of context lol

I always figured that Foxy didn't get the chance to be retrofitted with facial recognition. Due to being a sideshow, they started to repair the main band first, then, before getting to Foxy, they decided to go in the direction of the toys. So, instead of seeing Freddy via facial recognition, he just sees a dude in a Freddy head.
I remember back in the old days, it was 2014 and the first fnaf game was such a phenomenon. It was a cheap, short, jumpscare game and yet the gameplay was so fun and ingenius at the time, everybody loved it. Despite gradually losing quality as all long term franchises inevitably do. I'm still so happy Scott Cawthon didn't decide to not expand on the first game. Back then, I thought it was gonna be a standalone game leaving the story and mysteries unsolved.

Similar to what another user commented, I always thought that they W. Freddy, W. Bonnie, and W. Chica the new software in order to retrofit them, but not Foxy, because he was "too scary" for the kids (He does remind me of Nightmare Foxy.)
