I just stumbled across your RUclips channel today. Your production quality and content is superb. I liked the mix of voice over and music on this one. Most importantly, you cut to natural sound on take off. Whenever I am not flying, I am watching RUclips videos about flying. Can't wait to see you hit 10K subscribers, which I think you will very soon!
I've been eyeing to do a trip report on this route but STS is just too much of a logistical nightmare trying to plan flights going to or back from, to supplement the United segment, from someone based in a medium-hub airport in the Midwest. Cool trip though! - Red
Awesome video! STS is my home airport so it's nice to see more flight reviews on it. I've flown this route a few times. I prefer going from STS to a hub and connecting to my destination from there. With United not serving Santa Rosa anymore, I tend to go through SEA or LAX. The new terminal is due to open in a couple weeks! If you get around to doing a video on it when it opens hit me up! I love our small but mighty airport (their words, not mine)!
I totally plan on checking out the new terminal soon. I may give it a month or so in order for them to work out the kinks. I am sad to see the SFO-STS route die. I've driven that route enough to know full and well how justified the flight is, even though it isn't abundantly clear to the general public.
Oh wow... it's soooo different than when I flew in with Horizon Air from LAX quite a while ago!! It looked like El Centro's IPL (kinda rudimentary haha). But yeah, a flight from SR into SF feels like a "luxury trip" as they are close. I flew SF to Eugene with American once as well... that sense of small airports is another experience!
First of all I enjoy the voice over videos the best. I also enjoy the impartial reviews. That out of the way, I was going to say how lazy are people that they would rather catch a flight from Santa Rosa to SFO then double back to San Francisco itself. Then I remembered how much I hated my 15 mile drive from Santa Monica to just south of downtown L.A. The drive that frequently took over an hour and shut my inner voice up! Now that I'm done with this overly long comment I'm going to watch this vid again.
Lol! Yes totally, Santa Rosa to San Francisco sounds easy enough until you remember all that traffic. It is also mostly connecting passengers. Very few of those passengers are ending their journey in SFO
Hey Patrick, my advice on doing your videos is that if you're doing a flight review, I would axe the music and go voiceover. If you're just doing a video to commemorate a really cool trip you did, then add the music. I am not a fan of the crj-200 and I think it is the worse aircraft in passenger service today, even worse than the RJ-145.. It is an absolute deal breaker for me, I won't book a trip where it is utilized. Having said all that, I think flying SFO to STS would be cool to do 1 time just for the novelty.
Yea I too avoid the CRJ of any kind whenever possible, but when you have a flight that only covers this much time, it’s gotta be hard to justify anything else. Then again, United uses E175 between SFO and Sacramento which isn’t much further so 🤷♂️🤷♂️

I appreciate the kind words! Thanks so much! Tailwinds, Patrick

It’s a fun one. Looks like United it planning to suspend it soon. Wouldn’t be surprised if it came back soon, but only time will tell I guess
Love flying out of STS. Beats having to drive down to SFO or OAK. The new terminal is also very spacious and feels more like an airport now.
I am hoping to see the new terminal soon!
This route is amazingly short. Very high quality video with clear narration and nice music.
Thanks!

when Northwest Airlines was still around, they operated Ontario-Santa Ana on an MD80, which probably no time to use the restroom
That sounds about right. Same kinda thing here on this flight

The archives bro
sadly united airlines got rid of this route and all routes to sts
STS just put a new terminal and is trying to expand. I wonder if we will get it back?
It does seem like sts is trying to be more passenger than GA also I never knew there was a new terminal
Nice content but terrible music.
