  • Hydroponics is a method of growing plants, usually crops, without soil. In this method, the crops/plants are grown on water, rich in essential nutrients. According to studies, plants grown hydroponically grow faster and healthier than plants in the soil since they are being provided with required nutrients directly to their roots through the water.

    Government should start providing incentives to hydroponics agriculture. India's average farmland size and irrigation coverage are more than that of China but at the end of the day China produces 3 times more food crops than India. This high yield in China is due to novel methods like hydroponics and heavy investments in the R&D while India seems to be comfortable with traditional farming. We need to step up guys.

      Hydroponics is future of mankind atleast in India where arable land is depleting at rapid pace, on an avg 2000 farmers per day are quitting farming, micro organims are dying in soil due to excess use of pesticides and very less sustainable practices.

    Even though it is an innovative substitute to traditional agriculture, I still prefer the latter. Traditional methods ensured the continuation of the biological soil cycles that allowed proper aeration and revival of nutrition in the soil, which in turn prepared the soil to grow crops once again. Plants grown by this method will be naturally more expensive as this is unnatural.

      @@snaeem agreed, but it’s not always about being cost effective. There are a lot of useless schemes running that are just eating up public taxes and need to be shut down, but the government won’t for the fear of being called a failure. Traditional farming cares about the entire environment the plants grow in, from the microorganisms in the soils to the birds and animals in the fields. It even helps replenish minerals in the soil, and water ultimately returns to the ground. In drought prone areas, hydroponics is definitely a viable option, but otherwise I still believe traditional farming is superior.

    Whatever techniques we identified to raise the plants are not equal to natural raise by the plant because you have to keep the plant in some special atmospheric conditions for the above said process and processes but in the natural vegetation such as forests those plants have to face various rough conditions such as over rain, sunlight, smog, rocky places, non availability of water etc in this case the plant which seems to be very healthy only sustained the above rough conditions so it is nutritional rich than ever and at the long time that when we go seed by seed we have the very strong plant groups which available in all environmental conditions so please give a voice to afforestation to have the healthy ecosystem.

    • @sumanmanna8887
      @sumanmanna8887 3 года назад +1

      Do you know anything about ecosystem?. Many plants are very sensitive to environment. Most of high end plants produce need specific conditions to grow. If there is miss match they will simply die or not able to grow fully. For eg wasabi. It doesn't grow if it doesn't get continuous spring water of higher temp. The price of such plants depends on limited time of harvest or very specific environmental conditions . Higher difficulty higher price. Keep a marine aquarium with difficult fish you will understand. Not everything survive in harsh conditions. If it does People are not fool in providing specific conditions and wasting time and money.

    Only capitalists and industrialist can afford such kind of farming. They will produce and will sell it in mega markets on higher price, poor and illiterate formers would suffer more if this kind of forming will introduce in india.
    Govt will have to hire scientist and spend more money to spread awareness program in country like india and also have to provide sufficient amount of subsidies and farm loans.
