Ben: "John Bartholomew is trying to get a GM norm, and he's still trying. The truth hurts. Do you know what the problem with trying is, Oliver?"
Oliver: "Trying is the first step to failure."
Ben: "There you go, that's my student!"

Wow. I'm old enough that the date mentioned seems oddly specific. Stuff from 30-40 years ago would be easier to remember. Not many can do the things Anand has been doing lately.
11:28 Wiki says this variant is named "Monster Chess" or "Super King Chess". Beyond that and its rules, it doesnt show or say much. I think this is pretty interesting and should be more widely known to show how devastating initiative is.
Interesting. I was in the "I don't know" camp, then he explained it and it became obvious. The example : "You can take a piece, hanging your queen and then move it away" is simple and makes a lot of sense.
Yeah the player with two moves would be able to pass by moving a piece and moving it back.
Problem being you would almost never want to do that. 2 moves is a ridiculous amount of initiative.

A bacon guzzling troglodyte's heart gives out. Who wins? The animals.
Was that supposed to be funny?
