Can't believe you went with a leverless keyboard.

This is a risky rabbit hole to fall into. I circled the edge of it when I was building my current pc setup and spent way more than I should have on two keyboards, one of which I don't even use in favor of a split ergonomic columnar keyboard. Tried out two sets of switches for the ergonomic and a set of mt3 keycaps for both keyboards, and I felt a bit of buyer's remorse for the one I don't use. Thankfully, I haven't delved any deeper.

How hard is the learning curve on the split ergo columnar keyboard? Do I have to hate myself for the next 2 months or it isn't that bad

@@kavik1 It took me about two or three months to really get used to it to where I was able to type at about my usual speed, but part of the reason I don't use the second keyboard I bought is because it's a standard layout and I'm now too used to the ergonomic. Your mileage may vary, though, as I'm no spring chicken anymore. I can't see myself going back to a standard layout, though

Personally, I like the sound of the old keyboard, which is deeper and more marbly sounding. The new one seems to sound a bit thin, in comparison... probably a combination of the switches, the keycap material, the plate material, and the wooden case.

The build is foamless and the keycap set is cherry profile which explains why it sounds clacky (which is my sound btw). Less volume too because it''s flex cut pcb which allows more flex and bounce at the cost of thinner sounding rather than naturally full and crisp. The Epomaker one (old one) is full of foams internally which is why it's marbly and it has an xda profile keycap set which makes it sound deeper

You didn't take your switches apart and lube them first?
