I Tried Building A Keyboard For The First Time..

In this video I attempt to build a keyboard for the first time. Giving tips and walking you through my whole process step by step.

If you want to add more thock, you can use tape mods or foam mods. Hand-Lubing and ceramic keycaps can make it sound better but I'm not very experienced either.

I def think the tape mod would make the board sound nicer and lubing the space bar stabs would help reduce the rattle. I recorded the original audio with my condenser mic backwards def didn't help 😆

The keyboard sounded fine overall. The space bar was the only thing ticking me off a bit 😭

the keychron Q2 is a OK keyboard but the NEO 65 is better and cheaper.

Love the Vid i actually did a similar keyboard and started the same way with Hipyo , but i went a little simpler for my first one, i got a Keychron C2 (100%) with Red Linears and all i did was swap the keycaps with the same ones you got but for a 100% board. I'm building another one soon for my home office and i plan on building it from scratch this time, i got the GMK Red samurai keycaps, but not sure which board or switched yet.

I don't understand the Keychron purchase. This is why I stopped watching THAT guy. So many kits are much better for the price.
