  • While exploring Singapore and its cycling culture I saw many amazing bikes. Gordon was watching events of the TDF Prudential Singapore Criterium and his Helix folding bike, with 24-inch wheels and a glorious titanium frame, caught my attention.
We spoke a little about his bike and he agreed to explain more of it in a most impromptu interview.
This is the story of Gordon's Helix folding bike, as he explained it to me on 30 October 2022.

Lucky enough to have one of these. Best folder I've had (have had Brompton, Bike Friday, Bickerton, Dahon, etc). The wheel size make for a better ride. Instead of riding my past folders to the train for my commute, I ride the Helix all 20 miles instead.

Very cool bike. I notice on their website that it can fit in luggage that is standard cost on airlines. If I got one, I would have a custom backpack made for it so I can take it on city transit, which where I live only allows bikes at certain hours of the day.

Just got my Helix. How about the two green roller wheels. Where can I find that setup?

I had an Airnimal Chameleon that had a similar USP. But apart from having 24 inch wheels it’s very different. The way the wheels ‘fold’ actually resembles the Vello. The Helix’s steerer is certainly unique. An interesting design.

@@wyetuck88How did you join the larger diameter bar to the two halves of the jones bar so that they don’t turn independently of one another? Is it all glued together?
