Glad you liked it! I've been meaning to do it for quite some time (I've had both kits for months now, ha!) so I'm glad I finally got this recorded too.
I love how you compare to the early sets because that’s what I grew up with, then I dropped out of lego and got back into it recently, so big on that nostalgia of old sets and discovering all the new designs lego can come up with now!
Neat video! I’m enjoying these Harry Potter comparisons! But I have a question, is the “as seen on tv” sign above your head marketing you? 🤪 because you were on TV? If so that’s genius and hilarious lol.
Those 4 stud long bars have always been irrationally huge. They were even used for the 2011 wave, from which I own all the sets. The new wands are a very welcome change, but they could have easily used a screwdriver piece. They were never produced in brown, but, come on, they easily could have. They even produced a dark purple one exclusively for a 2012 small Friends set.
This is actually quite a good question that I don't think I've given enough thought too. The first one that came to mind is the 2019 Hogwarts Clock Tower, which harkens back to my favorite LEGO set of all time - the 2004 Hogwarts Castle. 2020's "Attack on the Burrow" and 2021's "Hogsmeade Village Visit" are real standouts of the reboot as well. What's your favorite (or favorites)?
ah yes, slytherin. Truly an iconic name. I want them to start naming lego sets one word phrases that don't relate to the set at all, I'd lowkey be down for that. But hey, Slytherin is what it is, and the name works perfectly fine. also the dog thingy, or the fur head, looks fricking amazing, I love it. Also do Harry Potter like sets come together to form something, or is this the only set that can be connected? (from what I understand it connects to the chamber of secrets set if you'd like it to)
Yeah, most of the early Harry Potter sets connect to something. Many used the same 8x8 system which LEGO has been repurposing for the theme today. But then there's sets like this with irregular baseplates which are a bit tougher to work with. If I'm not mistaken, this can be stacked with the Troll on the Loose set. At one point I plan on doing a "Revisiting" video for each wave of Harry Potter, I'll definitely combine them all together then!
Another excellent video. I thought I heard that your brother hadn’t been actively building for quite some time when you went on Lego Masters. Did being on the show get him back into building at home?
It definitely helped rekindle his interest a bit! I don't think he'll be doing a lot of MOCs or anything, but he's been buying more kits which is really fun to see again.
Old 90 pcs. 10$ set: two stellar prints, one of wich is absolutely huge Equivalent to a months rent huge Star Wars set: Stickers! Everyone in the family gets a sticker!
cheesey back at it with the comparison vids
That Slytherin set is honestly so amazing
I know, right? So many amazing pieces and colors!
"Peace and chicken grease" - that's gotta be a Midwestern saying. Excellent detailed comparison as always. Epic job.

Thank you for this comparison!

@@CheeseyStudios Truthfully I didn't even know either sets existed so I say keep up with these 2001-2002 comparison videos.

Glad you enjoy these! The early Harry Potter sets were such an important part of my LEGO journey. It's always fun to revisit them!
Its a really good set for the price. Great review, keep up the amazing work.
I have the slythern wall and shield from when my cousin gave me a box of Legos years ago
Nice! You'll have to see if you can make the whole set. It's too many pieces!

That was a wedding gift from a classmate from college. It was very very funny so I had to put it on display lol

The new wands have been such a delight. The Harry Potter reboot has proved to be fantastic!
What is your favorite 2018-now harry potter set

@@CheeseyStudios this my be cheating, but if the golden figs and the stand were a set on it own, it'll be on top

In fact it is. Slitherin house. Room vs poision wc
Hi Caleb, the set number in the description is incorrect; it's 76386 instead of 78386.
it's such a shame moaning myrtle isn't part of the new set!
That would have been perfect!
I have 3 of the new ones 😅😅😅
I need to stop spending money on plastic
lol niceeee xD
