The WDR Big Band features the American singer Kandace Springs with the song "People Make The World Go Round", composed by Thomas Bell and Linda Creed. Vince Mendoza arranged the tune and leads the WDR Big Band at the 39th "International Leverkusener Jazztage". Johan Hörlén plays solo on alto saxophone.

First and foremost, Kandace is unbelievably beautiful and talented to boot! She's also "My Peeps" (biracial like me) :) Second, Thom Bell is why I'm an arranger. He's my #1 all time favorite composer/arranger of this genre. Third, the arrangement was superbly done, (glad you kept the meter changes throughout). Fourth, I love the choice of two bass clarinets and flutes (Eric Dolphy is smiling). And last but not least, the alto sax player's solo was smoking! I've already played it five times!!!!!

Great song, interesting arrangement (per usual) from Vince Mendoza, and lovely lady with a fine, fine voice! Thanks for bringing this performance back.
It says written by Thomas Bell and Linda Creed but it could almost be Bacharach/Hal David. Just looked it up to jog my old memory - The Sylistics from 1971. I wish there were more songs like this still being written.
