By god you’ve done it again. The new real time note names are fantastic for ear training. Btw I love these baritenor videos. I thought I was a tenor because of my high notes but I’m finding myself to actually be a high range baritone. These are so perfect for me, I almost feel like a wasted a couple years doing purely tenor videos. Thanks again!

Glad to hear it! Allergies can be a pain. If they're seasonal, keep in mind that they'll pass, and be gentle with yourself, and your voice!
One of the shorter exercises from Jeff but quite effective!
Thanks Jeff, I like the exercise singing over the chords. It's a different feel to zero in on the notes without the direct reference from your right hand doubling the line.

wonderful, i use your warmups every day! the keyboard is cool, i cant decide if its better to see your fingers or the keyboard image. fingers feels more human and i can still make out where we are, but keyboard image is super easy to just know. both are great!

Definitely like the keyboard. I was doing this myself following with my own keyboard and now with your overlay keyboard, it's just nice to see the notes. Not sure why but it is. Also I really like the addition of chords to sing over. I realize that it helps me hear my tone better. Scale then chords. Always singing the notes you are playing masks my tone and singing over the chords leaves my voice alone, without the piano notes. So I can hear my voice tone better. Very helpful videos!

Awesome, Jeff! I too enjoy the keyboard on the screen. And, also, the exercises with just chords at the end is so very helpful for being intentional with the notes. As a guitar player, that is still my struggle in maintaining pitch consistently.

Wanted to know if you might be able to make a gentle warm-up for baritenor? Lately, I have been just sticking to the one for tenor, and that always seems to help out, but if you happen to have one for baritenor, that would work just as well. Just a thought.

The digital keyboard in the wrong octave, a tenor would never seen a C2 not to be disrespectful. Love you Jeff.
There are different labelling systems for octaves in use. In the case of the software that I used for this, it labels middle c as c3. It through me off at first, but it's not uncommon.

I really enjoyed the chord-part at the end. The progression ( 15:50 ) reminde me of "How to train your dragon". Jeff, did you have anything in mind while choosing the chord progression ?

Well spotted! These are warm ups, sure, but they are also technical exercises that I put together to help with specific goals. Each video is its own little lesson really.

hi jeff. i was wondering as I come close to my secondo passaggio for my voice, roughly somewhere between E flat to E4 ,should I try to widen the pharyngeal space in my throat?, such as lowering the larynx, widening the pharynx and the spreading of the soft palate. I have noticed if I don't do this my throat tends to tighten up slightly and I cant reach the D4 in this exercise consistently. I'm just curious if you have any thoughts on this?.
Try monitoring the position of your larynx by watching yourself in a mirror while singing the exercises. See if it lifts during the ascending phrases. If so, try to keep it in a neutral position. Let me know how that turns out for you!

Are the "C" keys marked correctly? This does not feel like the "C2" to "C3" octave to me. Oh, I came back to edit my comment and say I like the key labels. Helps me work on my ear training, I think.
Thank you, David! Some MIDI systems label their octaves off by an octave, so c3 on this software is what we would think of as c4. A little confusing, but once you know that, you can trust your ears when the label seems off from what you would normally expect! Isn't the labeling on the on-screen keyboard one octave too low?
In this video I had the labeling set to a different system that labels middle c as c3. It's taken from MIDI, where the first c is c0, instead of c1, as it's labeled on a piano. I've fixed it in more recent videos.
