As a guitar player I spend most of my time in minor keys, and ironically most of my time practicing singing is in major keys. Throwing a minor exercise in there always feels like coming home for me. Thanks for that!

Thank you so much for everything, Jeff. This is exactly what I needed. I started watching your lessons a long time ago, always thinking I was a tenor. Over time you helped me create a wider register, and while I do have a light tenor-like voice color, I also have resonant notes on E2, D2. My lowest note is a B1, it could sound better, but it's not as usable. On the other hand, my vocal break is around A4. I'm 19 years old, and I'm a bit confused, could you tell me what's going on? At what age does the voice stabilize? Thanks again, for helping many of us young folks get into vocal lessons

Yeah just managed that low D2. Same time washing dishes. Two things same time😮. Now to karaoke 12:00 today 🎤😎. I think these two octaves practices are good. My ultimate range I want like to be C2-C5. Now it is D2-A4. Once B4😁. I think I am bassbaritone.

Boy those are some low notes. As I understand it, as we work on our upper register we are learning to relax our thyroarytenoid muscles and strengthen the cricothyroids to stretch the vocal folds and get higher pitches. As opposed to just tightening the TA to get a higher pitch in chest voice. However, once you let the CT muscles drop out and relax the TA to go lower, it seems there must be a limit to how much you can relax the vocal folds and still get the closure and tension necessary to generate a musical tone. Do most students have an easier (relatively speaking) time strengthening those CT muscles to expand the range up vs learning to relax and develop the bottom? Or am I missing something? Sometime ago a vocal teacher I met told me he always worked his tenor's low notes too because it added depth and richness to the tone. No shrill or tinny tenors!

A little low for me, but it's a nice M0 practice or relaxation exercise.
