  • Trying a brand new ride for the first time can amp up your anxiety if you don't know what to expect, especially if you or one of the people you are traveling with has special needs: plus size, big & tall, wheelchair, ECV, scooter, canes, walkers, strollers, epilepsy, autism, hearing and sight challenges ... in this video you will find answers to help you decide if this ride will work for you and your family.
    Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway is designed to be a very family friendly ride that will work for people of many ages, sizes and abilities.
    Although I show you scenes and clips from the ride -- I try not to give too much away and leave lots to discover should you decide to try the ride.
    This is a very different sort of ride review from what you may be used to and I hope you find the information incredibly useful -- I hope you and your family are inspired to try the ride.

    I’ve gone through many of your videos. As a size 24/26 myself, you don’t know how useful I’ve found your videos. I’m heading to Disney in February with my family, and most of them are thinner. So it’s great to see that I can ride so much with them. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

      @@kfitz9654 toy story mania was a little tight, and not the most comfortable ride. But youll be good trust me!
      Rise is a seat belt, make sure you pull the seat belt all the way out, lash it before you sit down all the way and let it retract as you sit down. No problem there at all.

    Another great video. You’re honesty is so refreshing and helpful. I love how you strive to give us as much info as possible but still try to avoid spoilers. You clearly get it. You have found a great niche in the world of Disney vlogging and your tips are on point and extremely useful in planning a plus size trip. Sadly this video was obviously made before the world changed and I suspect the next time we see you we won’t see your face.

      I filmed this video on March 11th -- the day before Disney announced the parks would be closing. I have been longing to return to the parks but feel it is prudent to wait a bit longer before my next visits. In the meantime I still have a good deal of Disney, SeaWorld and Busch Gardens content to edit and post so you will continue to see more new videos from me in the coming weeks.
      I am so happy the videos are helpful and it's really nice to know people can see I reveal just enough of the ride to show you what to expect while still leaving plenty to discover during your experience.
      I look forward to a time when we can all return to the parks healthy and safe.

    I was SO BUMMED when we went and they had replaced The Great Movie ride thinking "how could you Disney??" But honestly, this ride was SO MUCH fun!! My family LOVED it. Loved the nostalgia and classic Disney feel. Must ride for anyone. And if you accompany someone who is handicap, your family of up to 6 gets to ride with you and they pull you over to the side with a special car waiting for you that just slides right into the next lineup AND if you exceed the 6, they allow the rest of your party to be in the car DIRECTLY in front of you with their own seat so, there's no breaking up your party. Disney shines in moments like these!!❤ I feel like I'm your friend watching these videos Pammie. We need to meet up sometime!!

    Hi Pammie I really enjoy your videos as a plus plus size gal you detailed videos help me know whether I should or shouldn't try to ride ... because of one of your videos I was able to experience soar in' for the first time and it was awesome ... one thing I wanted to mention was when I rode this ride recently I was in an ECV and a cast member approached me to ask if I would like to go to the private area to board ... we said yes and found it nice to be able to take our time without feeling like all eyes were on us ... it was just our party and a cast member. The ride is very easy to navigate into and out of but this is still a nice option that I think your viewers may find interest in. It works similar to the access area of toy story mania where your vehicle pulls in or out taking the place of another ride vehicle. As I could tell there were no special modifications to the vehicle. Thank you so much Jen

      Thank you so much for sharing -- recently I returned to Hollywood Studios and was allowed to look at the accessible loading area. I agree, it is really nice to be able to take your time getting in and getting settled -- and not feel like you have to rush to get out. But even if this option is not available for all rides, please know that Cast Members are very kind and they will give you the time you need to board, even for the standard vehicles.

After a while I started hearing from people with clinical anxiety and people who are on the spectrum ... these are people who like to know all the details of what to expect even when they aren't using all the services offered.
      I am really happy that the channel's content has opened up to serve more people.

    I found you on a recommendation from a group I belong to on Facebook and I really am liking you! My only "sensitivity" which isn't something I really care about all the time- I'll deal with it for some rides. 3D gives me a headache, do you have any recommendations for that? Motrin? Advil? Exedrine? Anything more natural?

    • @PammiePlusParks
      @PammiePlusParks  4 года назад +1

      I'm so happy you found the channel. If you are comfortable sharing, I'd love to know the name of the group ... its neat to see where the videos are being shared.
      Your your question regarding headaches from 3D falls a bit outside my ability to answer because I am not qualified to make medical recommendations. If I experienced the same, I would talk to my doctor....often your doctor's medical assistant or lead nurse can quickly answer that type of question over the phone.

    I know people miss Great Movie Ride but Hollywood Studios really needed a good all-accessible, family friendly ride like GMR that was more relevant to the new children and families visiting in 2020 and beyond. Plus Mickey finally gets his own ride!

    • @PammiePlusParks
      @PammiePlusParks  4 года назад

      I completely agree with you. The Great Movie Ride was accessible but it lacked lighthearted fun and joy. I loved it but always found myself weepy with nostalgia at the end of the ride. I think this is a much more fitting ride that will age well. It's full of life and fun -- and yes -- finally, Mickey gets his own ride.

    • @Knuckleb0ne
      @Knuckleb0ne 4 года назад

      Pammie Plus Parks I’m 29 and even I had not seen half the movies in GMR... I think many kids and the new generation of parents were losing connection with GMR, unfortunately. It will always live on as a classic part of WDW history, but I agree with you that this one will age better! And I think it’s central location in a big landmark of Hollywood Studios is such a great fit for a Mickey ride! It looks so cute and I think it’s wonderful that it’s so accessible to all types of people. We’ve had to postpone our honeymoon due to Covid but I can’t wait to ride it, possibly in 2022. :)

    • @PammiePlusParks

      I placed the record date twice in the video in bold graphics.
      I learned the hard way that if you include the record date in the description or title, RUclips notes this and stops suggesting the video and limits how it appears in searches within a few weeks of posting....so even if the information is current and highly useful, fewer people who need it will find it because RUclips views it as outdated content, when it is not.
      I apologize if there is any confusion.

    I'm so surprised this " "family friendly ride" is not totally

    • @PammiePlusParks
      @PammiePlusParks  4 года назад

      It is true that there may be people with certain visual or motion sensory concerns who may wish to avoid this ride but overall, from boarding to ride experience, to exit....it works for very small (infants) to very large and tall people and most people with mobility/accessibility challenges. There are even hearing/vision accommodations to enhance the experience for the blind and deaf. All those factors combined make the most accessible ride for the greatest number of people at WDW. Is it 1000% perfect, no.....but in this reviewer's experience and opinion, it's the best WDW has to offer at the moment.

    • @MadisonPrincess
      @MadisonPrincess 4 года назад

      @@PammiePlusParks sorry my entire comment did not post here for some reason. You mention in the video that the ride is not even as jerky or rough as Winnie the Pooh. My surprise is that it does not have a wheelchair ride vehicle for those who can not safely transfer out of their wheelchair. There is only one ride at Hollywood Studios that has a wheelchair ride vehicle and that is Toy Story Mania which is jerkier and way more rough than even Pooh. So why does this ride not have a wheelchair ride vehicle? Not perfect at all. Thank you for your review.

      I absolutely feel nostalgic for the old ride too. I grew up watching old movies with my Grandfather and am actually quite a classic movie buff regarding films from the 1930s to the 1950s. When I rode the movie ride, I would tear up at several spots because it brought up so many happy memories with my grandfather. However, this ride is so adorable and fun that I can't help but love it too. I know that millions of families will ride it together and make their own happy memories together. I'll never forget the old movie ride but I am happy to usher in a new era of family memory making too.
