I've done the same :D. I believe my FLGS secured a copy for me, but I guess we'll se next saturday if they call me to pick it up. Not gonna lie, I've been waiting for Warhipster's tutorial in particular
Honestly mate you made painting these guys look so fun. I was intending on selling the nightlord half of the box but now I feel like I need to follow your guide for them!
Been looking forward to this one! For the armour, I'm thinking of priming with something metallic, quickly overbrushing the brass, then doing the blue and continuing as you have here. I love the effect of contrast metallics and then the brass only needs tidied up. Not sure if I should spray retributor or leadbelcher though...
Excellent job! I love all of your videos, I do have a bit of a process question. In efforts to make the lightening blend in a bit, would it help to under-paint the lightening first before applying the second coat of stormfiend? And then of course after you’ve applied the shade over top going back in and adding touch up high lights to the brightest areas? This isn’t meant to be a critique by any means, I personally sometimes have difficulty with process order when it comes to using contrast paints. Thank you!
I’ve been watching you for a year and a half now, since I picked up the hobby. Your stuff is masterful. But I have to ask, it seems with your technique you have to be 100% perfect. How can you correct mistakes? If you get red onto the blue armor, painting with grey seer and re-contrasting will leave a splotch. How do you repair mistakes with contrast?
Very cool to see the miniature painted using contrast, complete opposite of what I’m going to do when I will riceve the box. Also great video Ave dominus nox
I tried thinning mine a little with medium, and it didn't make much of a difference visually. Arguably made the Stormfiend flow better though. I think it's been on the more unpleasant end of contrasts I've used, particularly on flat panels. It looks better after a second coat though - less coffee stain look. I haven't gotten past the Stormfiend yet but I may light stipple Nightlords blue or something similar/slightly lighter to clean it up. Definitely open to any input myself...
me neither, it is darker and does not look as cyan an it does in his first layer. Kind of disappointed to follow this guide and immeadiately having a different look.
I'm surprised you got a box of them. I heard Bricky is hoarding all of them.
Immediately saved this to my painting playlist for when i finally pick up a box of these amazing CSM. Well done as always mate.

You got that blue scheme perfect on them, many others have been painting them too bright like Ultramarines but man, you did them justice today.
holy moly that blue armour is just perfect !
I'm in awe that you are able to take these figures to an a-ma-zing level! Huge respect.

That blue hue looks great!
Awesome to see you painting these models. Night Lords were the first CSM i painted back in the day.
Definitely bookmarking this for when I pick up my Night Lord kill team soon
I got mine, did you get yours?
@chalkdemon8019 Yes they're awesome. Shame Drukhari got a points nerf :(
Dude, thank you for this video. I love that shade of blue, and I just ordered a jar of Stormfiend for my Nemesis Claw.
The starting music is so good.
Had to go off and listen to the whole track, now I'm back.
Thankyou for the video sir.
I'll be painting mine black and gold. I'm having them as a warband who have bent the knee to abaddon. They'll be appropriately named the Black Lords!

Could you substitute Akhellian green for Stormfiend?
Hey Warhipster. Do you know if the Lizardfolk Cyan from the new AP speedpaints are like the stormfiend contrast? 🙂
I might have to apply this to my heresy night lords cause the traditional method is so pain staking slow
Ave Dominus Nox !
What color would you recommend if I needed to clean up the blue armor?
Hopefully u get to doing shallaxi helbane
Please do Argel tal! The First Heretic book is so good!
Still amazed how accurate it is, I always paint somewhere else and ruined it
Hey @warhipster, is it just me or did the red cloak and bones not get any shade?
How many hours did it take you to finish painting them?
Hello, i like ur videos, could u do a alpha legion contrast video?
Very cool to see the miniature painted using contrast, complete opposite of what I’m going to do when I will riceve the box.
Also great video

@@danilopetrov4980 same i think he must have used contrast medium or something which is so annoying especially as he didnt say anything about it
Don't think I've ever heard of a NL been referred to as a gentleman 😂
