- I created a lovely workspace for my husband who is working from home right now. If you need to set up a home office but need some ideas to make your space neat, tidy and inspiring, this is the video for you. I have installed some Elfa Shelving from The Container Store to tie the space together! As a former Container Store employee, I have some Elfa Installation tips to share with you! I’ve got a quick tip for whenever you’re drilling holes in dry wall - to avoid the dust going everywhere, I fold a piece of wide painter’s tape underneath the hole like a little shelf with the sticky side up and it ‘catches’ the dust when you drill the hole. It’s hard to describe, but I hope this makes sense. Love your videos. :)

I use post it notes. I stick it to wall and fold it in half to catch everything. :)
As a former Elfa Designer and 7-year Container Store employee, I just want to clarify; Elfa shelving is designed to be stable using just the drywall anchors that come with the system. Hitting studs, wooden or otherwise...although great...is not required for stability and I was not searching for one. If I encounter them when drilling pilot holes, I mark that hole with an X and use the included wood screws. I do have a stud finder lol.

I was worried about that. I’m about to buy a system for two closets. The master closet will have drawers and such so I’m worried if I don’t catch a stud since one rail will not span the entire wall.
You need your own design show like, "The Property Sister." Just a friendly joke, but you are definitely gifted with home organization skills.😊

This is great! They said having it hanging all on drywall is totally fine, that's the physics of the Elfa System, the weight of the contents acts as a counter balance.
I like the shelves with the glass doors, looks like Ikea (?).

Clover is such a cutie, he makes me smile every time I see him. Apartment is coming along nicely. That was clever to use the shelves in the corner, very useful organization --easy change if needed in the future. OH by the way music is so nice today. 🙏♥️ Blessings

Love this! I have to go to the office in the morning, but I’m hoping that I will be able to talk them into letting me work from home for the foreseeable future. I don’t have a dedicated home office. Looking around for things I have that I could repurpose. It’s a strange time we are living in. Stay healthy!!

To find studs in the wall, you simply tap the wall with the handle of a screwdriver. If it sounds hollow then there's no stud. If it sounds solid, then bingo, there's a stud.
You do such a good job...his desk looks really...I have that same Movado calculator on my desk. I am in a condo too, I organize and clean my laundry closet the other day, today I am cleaning and reorganize my desk...I had a hutch desk, ( love it) you gave me alot of good ideas.

The Organized Soprano funny...right after I posted this comment I googled “glass door bookcases” and saw those exact ones on IKEA website...nailed it! They are so nice & Great price! I’m gonna get one soon... probably “gray/metallic effect”. I like that the books are enclosed so it eliminates the problem of DUST! Thanks for the reply & confirmation. Love the video and the music was wonderful. As an organizer, I have a quick question - In order to set up my home office, I had to order a new monitor and printer. Do I save the boxes? Not a lot of extra storage space. TIA
Toss the boxes unless you have room to store them. If you have to save them at least flatten them :)

What does Yves do for a living? My husband has worked from home for years and years, but he is so loud when he’s on the phone (which is 80% of the time), I could never be in the same room.
He is a writer :)

Kay go to the hardware store and get a stud finder.Why make holes if you don't have to.
I have one! The system is designed to be stable with only the anchors if that’s the case. That way you can hang it wherever you need to. It’s really cool like that! 👍🏽

He actually likes it! It's a lovely padded folding chair from our Expand Furniture Trojan Console Dining Table, but he wants to purchase a proper office chair eventually :)
