I am a "Mzungu" :) (a white man slang term in swahili) and I am married to a Kenyan wife (Sarah Irara) from Kikuyu tribe (Who happens to be a Gospel recording artist in Kenya). I live in St. Louis, MO in USA, and a good population of Kikuyu live here. I have become accustomed to chipati, ugali Nyama choma, Kenyan stews, goat, etc. (I also love authentic African cuisine from around the continent). I think African Cuisine is one of the most under-rated in the world, and their common "street food" versions are gourmet quality in my opinion. Thank you for introducing us to various cultures around the world. If you come to St. Louis, I could map out for you an amazing and unique food tour experience as well. Your videos are inspiring and your kindness and friendliness truly shine in your videos.
Mark’s channel got pretty exotic! I was never introduced to African culture before (exc. north and south), but the food looks great IMO and the people seem very friendly. This channel is more than just food

He was made for this. I’m in love with his humbleness and sincerity towards other people culture and food. I’m enjoying his trip to Africa. Every episode of his Africa trip is life. ❤️
Ms. Keysha Wineglass Yup, we’re all in it together. I’m yet to jump out of bed go make me some breakfast, yet I’m watching Mark eat all these tasty foods.
I can't think of anybody in this world who would be worthy of continuing the great legacy left by Anthony Bourdain. I could wish that someday one of those big networks would take you in consideration for that type of job, but the reality is that you are a unique traveler, and the content you provide is as unique and 'organic', very spontaneous and carefully selected. You are just an amazing vlogger and no big network or company can match that freedom and creativity you put in every single one of your videos. Thank you for letting all of us see the world (and its food!) thru your eyes Mark ❤️
I miss Anthony Bourdain so much! Everyone has a special talent. Like Michael Jackson, no one will replace him. Mark Wiens is also very unique. Love him❤
I love the videos and the respectful connection with culture. It is amazing that in the south of the United states we are frying chicken, coking collard greens and eating grits. It truly shows the African roots in America. . Thank you and god bless you in your work!
Going so deep in Africa and blending in so naturally with them really shows how great a person u r as always... Africa series also show us how fortunate we actually are with what we have and sometimes happiness cant buy with moolah. And also showing is how natural n easy life can be... Fresh n free range meats are the best flavours. In order to enjoy n taste the freshness its best to keep the cooking process simple as it is.. Nice one.

Hey Mark. I have noticed from the comments, many people from India seem to be surprised and interested in the Indian connection in Kenya. I thought I was the only one who thought mark did not do Nairobi any justice, why did he have to concentrate only on the foods made in informal settlements, Nairobi has so much to offer, I would have even voluntered to take him around to clean and very decent places for authentic Kenyan food...maybe next time
As an African American, such videos make me appreciate our ancestors' heritage. Thanks for traveling to the motherland and sharing these moments.

Thank you to the Machakos host for bringing hope after the not so good Nairobi nyama choma at gikomba and dagoreti episode.
Julie Jay very true
I thought I was the only one who thought mark did not do Nairobi any justice, why did he have to concentrate only on the foods made in informal settlements, Nairobi has so much to offer, I would have even voluntered to take him around to clean and very decent places for authentic Kenyan food...maybe next time
I know my people. I had suggested mama oliech and those nice places but he might have been misguided. Anyway, the Kajiado one fire. Go check it out
The Nairobi episodes were pretty hardcore.
Wow now the foods looks wonderful... Welcome back lil Micah and pretty Ying 😍😍😍😍😍
The girl whose cooking is so pretty...
