I couldn't get Adobe Firefly to generate an image of Iran launching missiles at Israel for a video, so I changed "missile" "Pickle" and I used that for the video thumbnail. Here is a review of some of the pictures generated.

The pickles are pretty funny, but for real I think you can get it to draw you actual rockets if you convince it you are writing an article about the Iranian "space program".
it's probably better to not show anything like pickles than civilian rockets that will be misleading

When I was about 7 or 8 years old I had asked my best friend where she was from originally ( all I had known was that they had come to the US when she was very small) , But it broke my heart when she said she didn't want to tell me because she thought I would hate her if I knew where she was from... this would have been1979-80ish, she was my best friend I would never hate her!!! so after few months I finally got her to tell me- she was from Iran, It was during the hostage crisis, but even as a child I was angry that anyone would blame the actions of a government on a child, much less her parents who came here to get away from that government, and I told her that in those words. It's a conversation I will never forget. And it still upsets me that child was so afraid to tell another child where she was from because of how people had been treating them, it made me sick then, makes me sick now...the people are not the government, especially when they have no choice!!!

Paraphrasing a Bulgarian missionary I know, people love to hate the West but everyone wants to live in a Westernized culture. Iranians want Apple Stores. My best friend in Ukraine grew up watching the same American TV as me, listening to the same American music, wearing the same American clothes. You start to realize that less and less of the world is alien and unrelatable, these folks are just like us and they want freedom and happiness just like we do.

Yeah that is a problem with AI image generation. It doesn’t know the entire context of the image. But it makes for some wild and funny creations that even humans couldn’t think of. It’s pretty scary, because what kind of wacky stuff will AI think of when it actually can think for itself.

There's actually an Arabic joke where the word for cucumbers sounds like the word for options. Some Arabic leader said "all the options are on the table" and the Arabic internet had burst with images of cucumbers ridiculing him.
Living in LA, the majority of my Iranian friends are Jewish. Not only are they not fans of the Iranian government, they are actively pro-Israel. Their religious identity trumps their national identity, even though they were born in Iran and their native language is Farsi.
A lot of non jewish Iranians are also pro Israel,because:
1. Their government keeps sending money and resources to palestine,while Iranians are poor,despite having natural resources and being more educated than their neighbours in the Middle East
2. Their own government kills and opresses them. Israel doesn't. They strike military bases and nuclear facilities.
3. Polls suggest 40-60% of Iranians have left Islam,most becoming athesit or agnostic,with some converting to christianity and zoroastrianism. So they don't see the Palestinians as their muslim brothers,but as regular people and/or islamic extremists
4. Iran and Israel were allies before the revolution,and the Iranian opposition hopes for Israeli support for their secular liberal cause. If Iranians get rid of this government,they will become allies again. Saudis are naturally opposed to any Iranian gov because oil interest,and other countries in the region are either islamist or unstable
5. A lot of iranian nationalists and other anti government people want to return to a pre 1979 era,when Iran was more liberal. In that era the jewish community was somewhat prominent and very integrated in Iranian society. A lot of historical ties exist between the two peoples despite the hatered between the governments. I guess you could say Iranians miss the times when they were at peace with everyone,including Israel,and tens of thousands of jews lived in Iran without any issues
These are just a few reasons,the Iranian government does not represent the people!

Also, appreciate you reminding people that just because someone lives "over there" doesn't mean they're bad people. I too know lots of Iranian people. Very good, nice, welcoming people. My dad worked there a few years in the 70's and even learned Farsi while there. I've met a lot of his friends that are Iranian. He loved his time there. Even till he passed he said he wished he could go back.
I think both of our countries would benefit from thawing relations.

Good stuff! I have Iranian friends, too. To a person, they are great folks. One was raised on a small farm in Southern Iran that was in many was identical to the one I grew up on in Indiana. I wish the "real people" in Iran all the best.

I’m from central Pennsylvania and I also pronounce it I-ran.
Sometimes Iran launches corn cobs, squash, eggplants and girkins.
I think the corn cob was supposed to be a cluster munition.
At 01:00 it's called Ahwaz province, and it's an Arab land that was occupied by Iran. People there speak Arabic, and have an Arab culture. They keep resisting what they call the Iranian occupation.
They reject Khuzestan which is the enforced Persianised rendition of Ahhwaz.
Historical Susa became Khuze-stan. Susa and Anshan were Elamite cities. Elamites are not at all Arab nor Semitic. Elam fell under Midian and then Persian control in the 6th century BC or so.

To share - I was a youth facilitator for the Baha’i faith. Baha’i is a religion from Iran. They were persecuted and beheaded in the streets for practicing the faith. Many fled the country to places like Israel and the US as a safe haven to practice their religion in peace. They are good, honest, and loving people who lived in Iran. That goes for every nation. It is important to separate the government from the civilians because the people are no different from you and I.

I know plenty of people who's accent drastically changed, including internationally, and after long enough it tends to get 'stuck' that way and *becomes* their 'real' voice with their other accent just being their 'original' voice

Iranian Studies specialist here; I believe there are 14+ national language groups in Iran. But you missed what group has traditionally been the largest: the Turks; Azeri, Osmanlis and some other leftover members of the Turkic invasions.
Btw cucumbers actually had some more meaning in this context.

YES!...you missed something very important in the "multiple pickle launch system" picture. In the background, that monument you see is the former Shahyad monument (now called the Azadi tower) outside Tehran, Iran.
When I was young I lived in Tehran with my family (dad was American Army) and got to visit and go up to the top of it. Someones AI had pretty good background knowledge!

My father bought many science fiction books in the 50-60-ies. I recall a book of a certain planet where the trees grew into rockets and at the end of their lifes they launched into space to propagate their species across the galaxy. Very far fetched, but this video beats it big-time! 😊👍

On the one hand, the situation in the middle east is horrific and tragic, but on the other hand, making light of dark situations and finding some laughter can be an excellent way of coping and having a healthy outlook on things happening outside of our control, so i don't feel bad about having gotten some good laughs out of this video 🤭
