Thanks for all the support along the way!🎉 Soon 1M subs, I can't wait! *edit: I run multiple project at all times, it would be impossible to keep up otherwise.
As from own experience from old chockolate. Chockolate will whiten and it gets a more rought/grainy texture to it when eating it. Also they do not taste "bad" the taste mostly have faded. From once I refused to throw away an over 2 year old chocolate bunny and ate it instead.
@@ZoofyZoof Chocolate is not synthetic and is almost always (making an exception for maybe research or lab synthesized peptides/amino acids that taste like chocolate) made of plant or animal derived materials. Chocolate, like mac 'n cheese or chicken soup, is a prepared or "man made food" as you wrote (unlike just eating nuts, fruits, vegetables, milk, etc).
@kimnoir I never said chocolate is synthetic, I said it isn't a naturally occurring food. ...Because it isn't. It's made by humans, we don't just pick chocolate off a tree.
A friend of mine goes by the nickname snickers because they found a 6-month old bar in their fridge. Can't believe there's finally a timelapse of one! Would be cool to see how long (if ever?) it would take for one to disintegrate without the water!
wowww beautiful mold!! so fascinated by the way it puffed up the candy bar. looked like an alien landscape by the end..and i love the cute puffs of spores when u broke it open. u are the best timelapse channel on youtube!
Yummy! Interesting how some of the chocolate on top appeared fungus-free even to the very end! Wonder what would happen if you were to rehydrate it (and keep it moist, as you did here) and observe for another month. Would other fungi come in to feast on THESE varied organisms?
Darn, I didn't know you put trivia in the description of each of your videos. I'm going to read them all now. I wish we could double-like for all your extra efforts.
What a cute name for a horse. From one hundred subs to nearly one million, what a ride. I'm truly happy for you my friend!! I really need to have a 4k monitor to see how beautiful these shots are.
When I was a kid, I used to use my baby sister's baby food jars to store bits of things in order to see what would happen after time. It was lots of fun.
Wow your videos are fascinating; I love them! Do you give the mold sunlight? It would be really cool to see if different molds grow in the sun vs shade (like the white one always comes out more when I give it some sunlight by putting it near the window). If you got really good at it, I wonder if you could cast a shadow of your logo and have the mold follow the pattern?
It takes me awhile to find your channel. I bury food, both vegetable and seafood scraps in the garden regularly. I always wonder what happens to them in the deep dark soil. It would be cool to watch more organic material decompose in the soil. Thank you.
Can you do a video where we have to guess what the food is? Like the food will be like completely disintegrated or whatever and w have to guess what the original food was
Can you do something similar but in tap water vs rainwater vs bottled water? I am genuinely curious whether bottled water is comparable to or better than tap water. Rainwater supposedly has no chemicals that come from filtering tap water too. So, they all should have different rates of degrading.
I get that without the water not a lot would happen. But the use of the water feels like a cheat to me. Foodstuffs with natural moisture or ones that get all maggoty seem more interesting than seeding the decay with moisture 🤷🏻♂️
At one point I thought it might be on the verge of coming to life and becoming sentient... but guess POTL thought the same thing and let it dry up instead. 😉
I’ve been subscribed to you before you even hit 100K!
Edit: how do u make videos so frequently yoo

Somewhere there is a building full of chambers of rotting things and 100 cameras
@@PhotoOwl I can’t wait for 1M too! Maybe even 10M hehe
@@PhotoOwlso many cameras 😅
@@PhotoOwlyou should also keep one until it molds then pour resin all over it so that you can keep it as a award forever 😂
Without water, the damn thing would probably survive the next century
oh, I thought the chocolate was making the water 😂

I mean, so would almost anything. Dehydrate something and it makes it last so much longer
Yeah,I think so too,and it should be without a bite.
Bacteria from human's mouth and added water will spoil the organic material so fast.
It was interesting to see how the filling was almost immediately yummed on by the mould, but nothing seemed in a hurry to eat the chocolate.
Chocolate seems to be a problem for most animals. It's also not a natural food. Chocolate is a man made food.
Maybe because of the moisture content of the chocolate. It molded after more water was added.

@@ZoofyZoof You said it's not a natural food. The opposite of that would be synthetic or unnatural.
I like how the mold is so powerful that it broke through the chocolate
More like it ate through the chocolate, maybe?
I spy a sad face defined in the cracks on top of the chocolate bar.
I also noticed that, that's why I zoomed in on it

Without any water? Decades, centuries. With air moisture? Depends on the climate, but I would say at least weeks
Love the Snickers trivia in the description
You can find one in every video :D

There's something so eerie and disgusting when rotten food in your videos start pulsating.
Amazing quality by the way!
I think too, it looks strange when that happens. Thank you, I'm glad you liked it
I always do that with my Snickers, they taste better afterwards
😆
real
Hungry? Snickers satisfies.
i ain’t satisfied
Not at that size. Man they used to be twice as big and three times as cheap.

You just had to take a bite of it before starting, understandable. Snickers best chocolate.
2:23 🤣 it's just moldy chocolate bat and your getting so fancy with it i love that
🤣 🤣

Seeing that these can take weeks, sometimes months; I was just wondering how many projects you usually have going on at once. Thanks for the vids.
2:28 Lol that face tho
I've seen it at that moment, where I read your comment 😂
This is sad Patrick from Spongebob
I've seen it too 😂

Wow, toast of Snickers. In every video I'm always amazed at the fungi. They're amazing.
As someone who hates peanuts in any form, I found this extremely pleasing to watch! Thank-you 👏👏👏👏!
Idk why but the fact that there was chocolate(?) at the end grosses me out even more.
Thanks for watching, even through the gross parts!
The end shots are pretty cool done!❤
When I was a kid, I used to use my baby sister's baby food jars to store bits of things in order to see what would happen after time. It was lots of fun.
The shots near the end were so good! I was really hoping it was gonna be donw with water, too :D
A very satisfying video to watch. You helped the tag line hold true.
u add water?
yep, I had to, otherwise it would have just dried out
It's amazing how long a coating of chocolate can last without rain/weathering, etc.
this is so beautiful. checkmate nihilists.
👩🏻💻Oh brother, what a waste of my favorite candy bar, but the sacrifice was for Science, O.K.
yay i love snickers
I'd love to know what molds were growing.
I wonder if a seed can grow from that
Or make soil out of snicker bars

You know it’s about to get good when the mold shows up
how tf does the mould make it look even more appealing
Raise your hand if you wouldn't waste a perfectly good piece of chocolate.🤚🏾

What was the odor like?

Oh that mold is thriving
still look tasty, bet snicker can make their own moldy looking candy and itll look hard and delicious
I wish they did that, it could be a hit
I love the time lapse
All of your videos show me how fascinating fungi are🤩😅
Glad you like them! 😊
Do you use a respiration mask or something to avoid mold spores?
Like how when water is added it lets it dry up completely.
I haven’t had a candy bar in so long. I think I might treat myself to one. 🙂
I was surprised that the zig zag line design was still on the bottom. Also, don't let your survival Snickers stash get wet.
For some reason Mars inc. declined to sponsor this video
Can you do something similar but in tap water vs rainwater vs bottled water?
I am genuinely curious whether bottled water is comparable to or better than tap water. Rainwater supposedly has no chemicals that come from filtering tap water too. So, they all should have different rates of degrading.
I’m both terrified and pleased by your content.
NEW ultra crunchy blue cheese flavored Snickers, your newest favorite chocolate!!
Best snickers bar in da world 🔥🔥🔥
Now time for the taste test💀
I feel like I am going to sneeze just looking at it.
Curious what the temp was, since the chocolate didn't melt
normal room temp, around 22°C/71°F
Was it still good?
lots of energy in that bar
My main question would be this:
How do you destroy these dishes afterwards?
I'm so glad that a Snickers bar is out of my system in less than 24 hours
Yo bro I have this snickers bar that has been sitting in my pocket for some time, do you want it?
The snickers bar in question:
are you gonna finish that?
Parents gonna abuse the power from this video and discourage their kids from consuming goofy aah moldy Snickers
As they should lol
No one should eat goofy aah moldy Snickers, eat the fresh ones

Why you added water 🤨
Wie immer ein super Video ^^ Mach weiter so!
Danke! Freut mich, dass es dir gefällt. :) :) :)
That was satisfying.
What an amazing dessert
I wonder what chemicals are on the surfaces that didn't get mold.
Cake or not cake?
Cake
Why is it so small
HE IS BACK !!!!!!
I wasn't away that long :D
He spent 43 days just to make this video for us
yea he was not gone that long. i think you ment coryxkinsin
Since I'm a candy addict my chocolate bars don't last 43 days without being eaten😂. It was so cool to see the ridges still at the end
Sooo pretty little fungi thriving.
Is it eatable ?
The one in the video definitely isn't.
Everything is edible if you have the balls and lack the brain.
I get that without the water not a lot would happen. But the use of the water feels like a cheat to me. Foodstuffs with natural moisture or ones that get all maggoty seem more interesting than seeding the decay with moisture 🤷🏻♂️
I am amazed that it didn't kill the fungus and the mold
Why the water though?
So something would happen to it
Thanks!
I was so confused until I read you added water lol
Sweet Living Decay!!
When I think that this is what will become of me when I die, it's disquieting to say the least..

Also thanks for showing the sad face 😁
I used to love a snickers. Now I’m not so sure. Dang it!!
Im curious, did you try this without water? Did nothing happen?
Some little dots appear on the chocolate, it doesn't look too interesting. This version is much more "fun"
@@PhotoOwlcool, thank for the reply :)
i thought the chocolate was peeing when i first saw the water
i'd still take a bite- ( dies just by thinking )
2:29 old and sad face right there.
you should make one of a wrapped candy bar.well maybe not a timelapse
At one point I thought it might be on the verge of coming to life and becoming sentient... but guess POTL thought the same thing and let it dry up instead. 😉
yooo where u been? ur backk :)
Day 29-30 looks pretty good, would be full of protein and still have a nice chewy core
Might try this one myself, thank you bro
Please don't :D
Not going anywhere for a while?
