    3:09 - I use this shortcut concept, but not in the way you do it. There's one that gets you there with less keypresses.
    Command + L
    That ends up in the same place. I've been using that one for a few years now. Appears to do exactly what you say with Cmd + Option + F, but with less keypresses.

    You can add tab groups - they are pretty handy to switch between different workflows. Also the ‘import from’ feature is extremely easy to keep sync between different browsers.

    Imo, the biggest drawback of Safari is the severe lack of extensions available for it. There simply aren't any Safari equivalents for many of the privacy extensions I use in Firefox. Until Apple actually creates an environment where devs are actually incentivized to create extensions for Safari, Safari just isn't a browser I can use (which is a bummer since Safari is perfectly optimized for MacOS).

    You are becoming one of my favorite "tips" you-tubers to help me explore Apple products. I wish I could get into Safari as much as you (and a lot of folks) are. However, I don't understand why Safari does not have "icon" only showing or even showing in the favorites bar. Seeing an Amazon icon, or my bank icon, or you tube icon (etc) is so much easier to see and comprehend then having words all over the place. Do you know if they are ever going to show icons? (or did i miss a tip on how that can happen??)

      If you right click on the tab bar when you have a website open, choose "Pin Tab", that puts a small icon to the left of the main search bar for each pinned tab.

    • @Pingwinho
      @Pingwinho 2 года назад

      @@allanfreeman6131 Yeah, but that keeps that tab open.
      My workaround is that I have favourites bar hidden - it's only visible on each new tab AI start - and this is where icons are visible.

      There is an option in some versions(Monterey I believe), Settings for Tabs - To automatically collapse tab titles into icons. Maybe you'd like that. Not sure about favourites though.

    But, I also use Chrome and Safari. I love Safari as well. Really clean. But, Safari fails to block certain ad pop ups that Chrome and Edge Block. So, I Safari is no longer my default. Edge is.

    Something I use daily: When viewing something in Mail, the right-click option to Open Link Behind Mail lets me keep reading, while the linked content conveniently opens in Safari in the background. My comment is that in the Apple ecosystem it’s antithetical to use keyboard shortcuts when everything is set up to be visually available or right click menu available or three finger gestured on the trackpad and thus quickly and easily clickable. I also find it impossible to remember all those command option keyboard letter commands because there is nothing intuitive about them while the same combination means different things depending on the application! Memorizing endless commands stem from the days of command line applications that went away with the last century or might still be around in the Windows/DOS world. We have even tried to move away from this method by dictating commands though there is plenty to be desired there still.

    Hello
    I am a recent subscriber and one of the silver surfers who is trying to keep up. I am all Apple, and nowadays spend most of my surfing time on my iMac. I have just discovered that it is a late 2015 model and therefore unable to download Ventura.
