Great Video, Over the last few weeks i've began starting to use a lot of the native apps that comes with mac os, been a mac os user for 13 years now. Just watched this video but one thing i find that i cant do is if i have youtube in full screen mode i cant then scroll the page to the comments, safari just keeps the youtube video screen and thats it, in edge i can have it set to full screen but still able to scroll to the comments............if anyone knows a way to do this then i think it must be you. so hoping you can explain if you do know.
oh sorry, the other thing is at 11.00 in the video you change the favorites icon folders to an emoji, mine just puts the emoji in the title not on the folder, M! macbook pro with os sonorma

I think what you want is this: go to the web page you want in RUclips. Then click the green button at the top left. Now you are using the browser window in full screen mode, not viewing the video itself in full screen mode. You won't see the emoji as the icon.

The only thing I miss about the start page in Safari is that you cannot lay out the icons as you want. For example I would love to have a feature where I can put some of the icons on the left some on the right, or some on the bottom. I work on three projects and like this I would be able to have groups which are separated somehow. Something like you can do in for example chrome extension called speed dial two. I can’t believe how many times you show me something I didn’t know even when I was sure I already knew it all. I never knew that that was the point of that Favorites dropdown in preferences. That suddenly makes the start page way more useful for me.
One issue: In the past I’ve assigned a keyboard shortcut to the start page, but it never works immediately after launching Safari. I always have to use the menu item or the icon on the first try. After that, the keyboard shortcut works. Is that just me?

I've seen that before. It could depend on the keys you are using. Something to try anyway. Otherwise, keep in mind that quitting Safari should be a rare thing. For me it is an app I use many times per day so I never quit it, I just hide it or switch Desktops, etc.

When I want to reach the start page, I click on the + button to open a new tab. That opens with the Start Page.

Or use Bookmarks, Show Start Page if you don't want to keep adding tabs.

When start page shows a letter instead of web icon, it's not because site doesn't have an icon, it's a bug. In Brave browser start page, I have same sites as Safari start page. Brave shows ALL icons correctly, Safari, only 5 out of 12 are correct. The rest are letters. Searching the web reveals this has been a problem forever.

I think part of it deals with the type of icon file, size and other factors.

My Start Page in Safari looks nothing like yours.

Sadly there is no option to increase the size of the print so that I can read it on the start page. It's very tiny print for my eyes, and thus all the content on this page is pretty much useless to me, even though when I go to any other Web page on Safari, it's easy for me to set an increase in text size permanently for that site.

Perhaps you are using an older version of macOS?

I wanted to find out how I can make Safari as my Start Page. Now how to do thing in it. So your description is misleading.

Not sure what you mean by "make Safari as my Start Page." This video is about the Safari Start Page, the page that will be displayed when you open a new tab or window in Safari.
