    I have done this flight with my pilot friend many times and always this fight. Sometimes we go back along the coast to Mt Solidad and then back to El Cajon.

    Great video man! I recently moved to Cali and started flying out of Montgomery using the same plane (N4975F). I've been looking at some of Bay Tour videos and yours is by far one of the best ones! Nice flying!!

    Great video, was there an issue with the transponder’s channel selection?

    11:22 Boat drifting?

      This is a boat ride you can take in San Diego, offered by Flagship. It costs around 30 bucks and lasts thirty minutes. It's a pretty big boat that seats around 20 people. They blast rock and roll music and the boat does these abrupt 360 degree turns. You get splashed, it's pretty wild!

    this is definitely on my bucket list to do after I get my PPL. Bookmarking for review later :)
    It cut out near the end and didn't capture the landing. Did you run out of battery?
    How many Hobbs hour did the Bay Tour take?

      Daniel Wu Ohh oops! I cut out the end since it was pretty uneventful (aside from a mediocre landing on 28L). I also left out the first half of the flight where we did the Miramar transition and went up to the practice area and back down the coast. If I were to do it again, I'd go the opposite direction, asking for the delta transition from MYF, then doing the tour the opposite way so the passengers get a better view of everything.

      I'd normally say it sucks to have to circle an area while waiting for clearance, but I can't think of a better place to have to circle than over the Coronado Bridge :)
      why is it called the "delta" transition?

    • @DanielWhiting
      @DanielWhiting  9 лет назад +1

      Daniel Wu It's unofficially officially called the 'taxiway delta transition' since you're supposed to line up to go over taxiway delta at KSAN. Take a look at the airport diagram and google maps satellite view to see it's roughly a straight line from the MZB VOR, over taxiway delta, to the east end of the bridge.

      +Daniel Whiting Is the transition officially published anywhere?

    • @DanielWhiting
      @DanielWhiting  9 лет назад

      ***** Nope, I've never seen anything published about it. All the controllers understand what the 'delta taxiway' and 'offshore' transitions are though. There seem to be variations of the bay tour, so I always seem to need to explain or clarify to the North Island controller what I'd like to do.

    I'm guessing that you flew over the US Navy Base.

      North Island want us to stay over the water and not to overfly any vessels, but you do get a great view of the base!
