From NMIXX, you should react to their B-sides as well their debut single album, then their covers are out of this world, they covered Stray Kids' Thunderous, Seventeen's Very Nice, has several covers in their official RUclips channel, and remember this, they are the strongest all-round group of the 4th generation. All of them, can dance, all of them can sing, it's just the fact that they took a very different route of creating a genre exclusive only to them. And as you might have already noticed, they are unpredictable, and their talent is limitless.

Mix-pop is what this group was all about from the onset. And they even had a video narrated by Lily explaining the concept in a storybook manner. But a lot of people had no idea. So when O.O first came out many were not prepared. I was one of them. But after educating myself, the song and the group grew on me. Lily’s the vocal standout for me with Haewon being a close second but they can all sing their asses off. So much talent in this group. But apparently some feel NMIXX should be punished with negative comments because their concept doesn’t adhere to traditional KPop norms.
Kind of sounds like the way DreamCatcher was treated when they debuted. They were SO far from what K-Pop was at the time, they felt entirely different so nobody was prepared for them. "Hybrid Pop/ Rock/ Metal? WHAT DO YOU MEAN???" It was awesome internationally but Korea practically shunned them (and some even went so far as to have sabotaged them at the award shows). Same treatment with NMIXX right now, which is completely unwarranted. They actually are GOOD at what they do, even if they are so 'unconventional' to Koreans.

I’m just so proud of the girls who didn’t ever conform on their title tracks just to get a first win. And now look at other groups like Aespa and I-dle who aren’t afraid to dabble with a rock sound on some tracks. But yeah, for the most part, if it’s not girl crush or cute concept and fully conform to KPop traditions, the majority of KPop fans, especially in SK will sh** on it.

Korea seems to be stuck in our 1950's with their conservative views even if they have far better technology than we had in the fifties. Personally though, I jam to O.O and Dice as well. Your comparison to Aespa is fitting, though to my ears Aespa are more mid-paced and smoother with the switch-ups, whereas NMIXX use faster tempos and their switch-ups are complete chaos. Definitely one of the most unique and entertaining groups. Their live performances and vocals are amazing.
I think this polarizing thing is plan of their concept. It makes it interesting and stands out and they had a immediate fanbase which is quite active and fighting compared to other fandoms. I also don't think they were unsuccessful - if you look at the views of their MVs ... O.O is at 87M and Dice after only 5 days at 40M: These are very good numbers compared to many other gen 4 groups which struggle getting in the 10-15M area and having far less liikes and comments. If you look at the view counts of their performances on the TV stages, you'll also notice that they are quite popular and beating even formally bigger artists easily.

I absolutely loathed NMIXX’s debut song O.O at first listen, but now I enjoy it. In 2 months I’ll probably like Dice too, but for now that change up felt so weirdly unnecessary. The company should have named them E-Mix instead, for 'experimental' first thing. It would have warned people a little bit better what to expect. The pill would not have been so difficult to swallow for those stupid haters who have no imagination or appreciation for art.
I'm still not sure who the target audience would be if a song first has to grow on one over months before I'm able to enjoy, appreciate and like it. From a talent and skill point of view and even the production standard - it is awesome but for me personally!! there are more enjoyable and listenable songs which were released over the past view months. And yes there are songs which I won't get immediately. Meanwhile I'm waiting for the "Entwurf" preorder here to arrive 🙂 I can imagine myself listening to their songs with speakers at max volume. NMIXX (pronounced as N-Mix) is a South Korean Girl Group from JYP Entertainment, that created a concept called MixPop, essentially creating songs with Mixed pop sounds basically like 2 songs in one. Their goal is to keep on being diverse and being creative.
NMIXX put the N in the in the middle of MI and X and omit the X in the end and MIXX's N is missing so put the N the in the middle of MI and X and omit the X in the end and MINX is the real noun and all of them reference to minx and which means in US "a girl or young woman who knows how to control other people to her advantage" and in UK "old-fashioned usually humorous". JYP Entertainment is messing with us.
Currently a lot of people spreading hate comments about the girls on Twitter and it is being proven by Jinni and Haewon that they are reading the comments on Twitter and since it is filled with hate comments their confidence vanishes. Jinni said that she can't dance which ich not true. Haewon said that she is a no one and that she deserved no fans and she asks herself why we support her. 😭😭😭😭😭 I personally love these girls so much. They were so honest with us #nswer from the get go. So I am happy that they are talking openly about how they feel. But They get all of this for nothing. They are amazing. Great personalities, great voices and great raps. I love everything about them. Yet another song where its a complete mashup of sounds. Definitely did better than O.O, I'm predicting another 2-3 comebacks before they manage to make it work. This sounds infinitely better without the video, just like O.O. 6.5/10 for me, better than the 4/10 for O.O, still hope for them!
