Stay Swanky My Friends!
We've been using the hwk jacket and pants for over a year now and have had good luck with it. We wear the pants on every ride and the jackets during cold weather. It's hard to beat for the price. Going to be doing a comparison of the hwk street jacket vs the adventure version soon. Good detailed video 👊
Nice! They have a good number of coats out there. I wish they would make more matching pants though!
@@SwankyCatProductions me too. Wish they would come out with some camo gear. It's good affordable gear and a great option to get people into adv riding without breaking the bank
Great way to review the gear man. Nice job! I love my HWK gear. Once again, thanks for introducing us to it. I've put about the same amount of miles on my pants and the big things I've noticed is that the velcro on the pockets is starting to give way a bit. Plus I have the same tear as you do. Over all though, the protection is there, the pants look great, and the price can't be beat.
Thanks Island ADV! Huh I'll have to check on my pockets, I use them pretty often and I'm not very nice about it lol. Glad to hear you like yours!
I just recently bought and tried all the cheap moto/adv jackets on Amazon. The HWK and Aplha gear are two brands from the same mfg that seem to trade features and are almost identical… anyways the one place they fell short is waterproofing. I ended up thinning out the non foaming gorilla glue (any polyurethane glue that dries flexible will work) with xylene (doesn’t harm plastics) and “painted”nether jacket. It is now completely impermeable and significantly stronger as now the fibers are glued together. It was a bit of a mess to do but now it will easily stand up to the best crab boat raincoats 😁
I run the mesh HWK pants year around here in Northern, California. I use a base layer like yours and I've ridden in snow with them - you're right they're awesome pants and really comfortable. I wear these on my ADV and dirt bikes.
Great video! I'll be looking into some of these products here soon. Rode in some 30 degree weather here in Alabama this morning. I just bought a Bilt Jacket yesterday to help with the coldness. Only problem is my finger tips 🥶
They definitely work and are really hard to beat for the price!
Good Job Swankster...
Thanks!
Can’t agree more about the HWK pants.
Thanks for the tips. I have never used heated gear. But I have heated grips and a seat on the bike. Maybe I will try some.
Grip heaters are nice since they don't ever run out of juice. Gloves are helpful though too since they keep the back side of your hands warm. The insoles are definitely nice!
I run the fly racing maverick boots, cold and warm weather fly socks. I too have the HWK pant, and jacket. I absolutely love them. I purchased the set, which came with gloves. Those are on the cheap side, but they have held up rather well. But the jacket is fantastic! I've ridden in temps as low as 26 degrees here in Minnesota, and it all works great! Love the content!
Nice, yeah the HWK stuff is surprisingly versatile! Thanks!
It is getting into that season! Looks like you've got a sweet collection of moto clothing for all the seasons!
It took a while but I finally do! Use to be all I had was a leather coat a gloves lol.
I have the same HWK pants with matching jacket. I’m satisfied with them, especially at a fraction of the cost of bigger brand names.
Right? I know there's much better stuff out there but no way do you get nearly as much for your money!
Glad you started with the base layer rather than start fully clothed- making the view concerned as to how many layers you would doff.
Thanks Eric!
What size pants did you buy❓
As far as all the underwear, what’s it made of? Materials are a consideration for some of us with sensitive skin brother.
Hair would not be an issue for me when buying a helmet. Great gear review!
Haha my dad's in the same boat! Thank Bill!!!
Should a person order slightly larger size to allow for layers of clothes? Maybe get slighty longer inseam?
Possibly yeah, if your in between sizes you might be better off going on the larger side. My stuff worked great but with and without layers under it.
Great vid. Can the pants fit OVER adventure boots without snagging?
thx,
S
I don't think I ever ran them that way but the bottom cuffs should open up more than wide enough.
Looking forward to seeing what you replace the t7 with. 😉”dr650”
Haha I've been looking!
Well if most videos aren’t of you in the garage, In your underwear, why am I here? LOL.
LMAO idk man 🤣
Sorry Man ! So you are about 160 pounds and what's size are u wearing ?? Just for reference.... and how is the waist ? Tent to be loose or narrow and tight ?
Thanks for your help 👍
HWK pants are 30-32 inch waist & 30 inch inseam. I usually wear a 32/32 (which are always long) and these fit perfect!
Hello Mr cat. Sorry but a klr ? My 2022 went through 2 garmins within a hour. Also mine is so jerky it clanks my gf's helmet against mine in any gear. Really sucks, maybe it needs to go back to the shop. I rode it on a round trip of 1,400 hundred miles. It didnt use a drop of oil and no issues other than jerky and the gps going black. Any ideas? Also do you have a good tire recomendation? 50/50 use. Really enjoy the channel. Thank you for all the great content.
Hello Randolph. The GPS bar on the KLR is extremely bad for GPS units. It has a really hard and fast buzz at any speed. I've got a foam pad between my mount and GPS and plan on installing a really anti vibration mount in the future. I'd look into something like that. The jerky throttle is due to the fuel being cut completely when you let off the throttle. Dragging the clutch a little may help this slightly but it will always be there unless an ECU flash that stops it becomes available. As for tires, MotoZ Tractionator Adventures do awesome both on and off road! Here's the review I just did on them.ruclips.net/video/83H0MAo0jls/видео.html
