I can agree, Software can be a good thing if it is done right. for example Logitech G software is great. you can set all of your settings then store it the the mice to be used on any computer without software. In Zowie's case lack of software is less of an issue, but i brought it up due to the price point being so high with lack of features to justify the high price
It's not a positive because having no software would mean adding more unnecessary weights such as extra buttons (and things to accomodate those buttons) to change DPI/Polling rate and the small extra LEDs needed to show that, it add complexity to the PCB.
It's a positive for sure. Zowie mice are also lighter than most of the competition despite adding "unnecessary buttons", the mice also work fully on WIndows, Mac and Linux while those with software and drivers (excluding Roccat) don't. This mouse is sold as an Esports mouse and having no software or drivers is a positive for players who attend LAN events since it's plug and play.
TruthJusticePeace but what if you set the mouse settings into the mouse onboard memory (e.g: Logitech G Pro I use) and just plug and play with that? Because every time I am told that Esports professionals bring their own equipment like mice and keyboards. Most mice these days with software come with onboard memory you know. :3
I bought it specifically because it doesn't have any nonsense software and RGB gimmicks. Its all business. I did get mine on ebay for only $30 though . Awesome mouse.
I don’t need RGB or other software features just need something light and on point FPS gaming. Anything with features like RGB fancy detailed designs just adds weight . This model dropped down in price at $69 at Amazon and the Counterstrike G.O. Edition has a better click on buttons and doesn’t have any rattle like the black version EC2-B
It's to show the build quality, some mice will vibrate or creak as they come back up if clicked slightly harder than usual, some will this, some will that, there's a million issues with a million mice.
Mouse is not priced high at all as it’s the only kind. All other mouses go for rgb software and features for more newer less experienced people to buy instantly because it looks cool. This mouse is perfect and they can price it however they want as it’s the only true fps gaming competitive mouse. I absolutely love it
The best implementation of mouse and software, in my opinion, which is a entirely theoretical example, is combining Zowie like plug and play, with Steelseries/Logitech + Razer Software customisability. With mouse design: Mouse shape - Zowie Build quality and quality control - Logitech Sensor - Steelseries (Truemove 3) Button design (Scroll wheel, LMB & RMB, Side buttons) - Steelseries + Logitech. Materials - Zowie + Logitech (Plastic for longevity) Mouse feet - Zowie Button Layout - Zowie CPI LED by Zowie as well Profile switch button (1 plug and play profile, 2 customisable profiles on PC) with corresponding LED to indicate which profile is being used Cable - Dream Machines shoelace cable / Zowie rubber cable Low weight With software: Plug and play - Zowie Optional customisability (On PC + save to a different profile on onboard memory) - Logitech + Steelseries Optional ability to save customised profiles online - Razer In my opinion, that is what I would consider a lot of people's theoretical best mouse. And I shouldn't forget, RGB and non-RGB versions, to accommodate to those who want RGB, and those who don't. Another theoretical one is to combine this idea with the Ninox Astrum customisability of the mouse shell and buttons. Sorry this was just a thought of mine...
Hey, i just got mine today and i wanted to ask, does your ec2-b have a bigger travel distance in the front side button than the back side button? The side buttons have different travel distance?
"RGB lighting" is just as much as feature as "NO RBG lighting". One of the real "issues" many have with this mouse is the 16 step scroll wheel, that should have been mentioned in this review, can be a deal breaker for many. Also zero mention about the actual switches used and how they are tweaked from the previous version. Key factors are missing here....Regarding the mouse feet as mentioned in the video, ofc there is no issues as of such with them, but compared to the previous version the mouse does not slide as well, thats the whole point of why some complain about them.
Mice that comes with software these days stores the settings in memory inside the mouse so there is no delay. The issue with driverless/software-less mice is that they tend to be heavier since they need to include extra LEDs, buttons, more wiring and PCB to adjust DPI or polling rate, so the only reason a company decide to create a driverless mouse is that you can't make good software, it's no coincidence since BenQ isn't known for having good user interface or firmware in their products generally.
im really considering getting this mouse, my main concern is the thumb buttons, how much of an improvement are they to the ec2-a? I felt those and didn't like them. how do they compare to the thumb buttons of a deathadder? I've been using an old deathadder 3.5G from 2012 this whole time and really like those thumb buttons.
thanks! that should be fine then. I'll most likely give the ec2-b a shot, it should suit me better than the logitech g203 i tried recently. it was good but didn't feel quite as comfortable for palm grip and i misclicked the buttons several times when moving it around in games because the switches are so light.
It depends on their implementation. What I meant by what I said, is that if you are going to charge that much for a mouse make the feature set worth the cost.
That’s a hard question lol. I love the way I play with the Venator better but I like the comfort of the EC2B better. I would honestly still be using my Venator if my review units rattle had not gotten so bad.
The side buttons definitely feel cheap. I much prefer the side buttons on my ZA12. Most of their travel is beyond the click, so the just feel ridiculously mushy.
Does anyone have a good mouse recommendation for 17.9cm(Basically18cm) x 10 cm width Hands? Zowie is good i would get this if i only play FPS but i like MOBA on the side and buttons don't sound too great for it
the mouse is suited towards competitive gamers, its not supposed to look flashy or have any sort of thing that can cause delay. Also, you make it sound like this mouse is not good for all people. Zowie mice DO NOT fit casual or less competitive gamers.
Nice review. I was thinking of getting this mouse but now you have me second guessing myself. You said it was too big for you, what are your hand measurements. What's your fav moustle atm?
Right now I am still using the EC2B. I haven’t found my perfect mouse test unfortunately. But I really loved my Nixeus Revel, and I really life the shape of the EC series. It’s not too big. I just would rate it bigger than a medium mouse. My hands are 19cm by 10cm
Screenbite That ended up being a deal breaker eh? Too bad. If you were going to go to a tournament tomorrow, what mouse would you compromise on and use?
If I was going to a tournament. I would honestly bring the EC2B at the moment. My only complaints with it is the price per feature ratio, and to a small extent the clicks
If only they could get the quality right then. I am not saying it’s a terrible mouse. I actually like it a lot. But if issues from past mice are going to carry over to the new version, I would like to see more features to justify the price
I have the mouse, it really isn't that great. I hate not having software to personalize my DPI and will never buy another mouse without it. Hype for nothing that special.
No software is a positive not a negative

i use 700 dpi so to use this mouse i need to change sens for all games
I bought it specifically because it doesn't have any nonsense software and RGB gimmicks. Its all business. I did get mine on ebay for only $30 though . Awesome mouse.

Great review man, keep up the good work! Hoping for a new version of FK1, 70 $ have to wait ;).
why did you press so hard and slow on the clicks????????????????????????????????????????????????
He didnt press hard at all lmaooo

should I get this or the glorious model O?

+milli graham they are definitely improved over the EC2-A! Not as crisp as on a death adder though
thanks! that should be fine then. How does the 4 small mouse pieces feel compared to the 2 big pieces zowie used on ec2-a?
+Potatwooo I honestly feel no differences. In the glide. That was something I was concerned with. And happy to report I see no issue
If you have an uneven desk/uneven mousepad you'll feel those, otherwise I feel no difference to the 2A
i own a ec2-a and i love it, does the ec2-b have the EXACT shape as the ec2-a?
Rulio :P it does
same size like ec2_a or whats thw difference please between ec2a and ec2b
Doest it clikc faster than previous zowie? or may be slower?
hi, this mouse has an mate coating?
22 left handed people disliked this video
lol
so now software and rbg for a mouse is a good thing to have ?
It depends on their implementation. What I meant by what I said, is that if you are going to charge that much for a mouse make the feature set worth the cost.
I can't believe BenQ's Zowie replaced the poor scroll wheel, with an even cheaper wheel.
Now, I don’t know if I should get this or not.
Any sensor whine in yours?
Zowie ec2-a or ec2-b ? I dont mind if the sensor is old or new i just want to know who has the best quality among the two mice
They are almost the same, EC2-B should be better in every aspect though
HEL tnx
EC2-B have major quality control issues at the moment. It's a 50/50 chance of getting one with the "coil whine" or not.
What does that mean? any videos?
Rival 100 seems more comfortable than ec2-b for me :D
The new Rival 600 looks really sweet.
Absolutely. I am looking to get my hands on it to review
Screenbite can't wait to see your review!
What your hand size
For claw grip is good? 18cm hand.
you like ec2b or venator better? i personally haven't found a single mouse that can beat my venator. i thought i might give ec2b a try.
That’s a hard question lol. I love the way I play with the Venator better but I like the comfort of the EC2B better. I would honestly still be using my Venator if my review units rattle had not gotten so bad.
What is your favorite mouse
the clicks sounds cheap :/
The side buttons definitely feel cheap. I much prefer the side buttons on my ZA12. Most of their travel is beyond the click, so the just feel ridiculously mushy.
I dont buy this mouse because clicks sounds cheap i need clicks sounds like launching lamborghini engine just perfectly
The EC2-A has a cheap scroll-wheel, and mushy buttons. It relies entirely on the excellent shape. BenQ has added nothing to Zowie.
And the scroll wheel feels cheap too... Why?
I have the EC1-B and the build quality feels perfect
How to default lod? Plz help me
My hand length is 18 cm, and i don't think this mouse is too big at all. Maybe this is because i was using the deathadder elite.
Luos how was the transition? I currently use da elite and it’s breaking on me in 11 months. Feel like this mouse is an amazing buy
@@kyze2k what mouse, the zowie or the elite?
That sounds like the old ball dell mouse i had like 15 years ago
Lol
Does anyone have a good mouse recommendation for 17.9cm(Basically18cm) x 10 cm width Hands? Zowie is good i would get this if i only play FPS but i like MOBA on the side and buttons don't sound too great for it
*IS IT POSSIBLE TO CHANGE LIFT OFF DISTANCE ON ZOWIE EC2-B?*
Yes but why
Are the m1/m2 buttons really really bad?
Theyre amazing but abit loud for my taste, i dont think they would be very well suited for mobas tho
I have rival 300 now and i got 17cm hands so should i upgrade to ec2-b???
yes, you REALLY should.
I'm sitting at a bit over 18cm so let's just say 18. Im having a hard time deciding between EC2-B and the FM Ultralight Pro Black.
anybody know how we can get this mouse in Canada
Using this with a Zowie Kamade makes it feel wireless
C2 PAPA SIEGE damn might cop
@
Screenbite
What is your hand size? And which hand size do you think will fit EC2b?
My hands are 19 cm long by 10 cm wide. This noise is medium to medium large in my hands
the mouse is suited towards competitive gamers, its not supposed to look flashy or have any sort of thing that can cause delay. Also, you make it sound like this mouse is not good for all people. Zowie mice DO NOT fit casual or less competitive gamers.
70 USD wow.. its 100 euros in France( about 120 usd)
great review!
Podrick? Its you?
So what is your main mouse ?
Right now my main go to is the G403
Screenbite what is your favorite ambidextrous mouse atm? I ask because i saw ur review of the venator and revel.
John T my favorite ambi mouse at the moment would be the Venator. It is smaller and feels more nimble in my hand.
back to the 24 step scroll wheel pls, also omrons :P
Zowies had an omron version but double clicking was a huuuge issue throughout the first batch soooo
Such a shame they kept the horrible coating, wish it was rubberized like the old EC2 eVo, loved that coating.
woo you hit 1000
damn sohuldve got this one, however the ec-2a looks way better IMO
the fact u must keep it on a specific colour to have ur desired dpi is pretty f-ed
but i play on a 1000 dpi :(
used to be a zowie fan, untill i tried the logitech g102, this 20 usd mouse blows away all my 70 usd zowie mice lol.
Jeffrey Bozko its your preference. I have both and zowie is way better for me
Nah.
Jeffrey Bozko you’re funny
That's MEGA preference, my man
g102 has great sensor with shittest cable quality and internal build quality. gets click issue after 7 months of using. thats y its just 20 bucks
Nice review. I was thinking of getting this mouse but now you have me second guessing myself. You said it was too big for you, what are your hand measurements. What's your fav moustle atm?

Screenbite I just watched your review on the Venator. What made you stop using it?
Tim MacKinnon for the venator it was the lens rattle that developed in my unit
Screenbite That ended up being a deal breaker eh? Too bad. If you were going to go to a tournament tomorrow, what mouse would you compromise on and use?
If I was going to a tournament. I would honestly bring the EC2B at the moment. My only complaints with it is the price per feature ratio, and to a small extent the clicks
Who bought the csgo edition ?
me
me, it makes ur hand sweat a lot, totally uncomfortable
@@keilinx if I don't sweat while playing will it be fine ?
Virush
Sure, it’s pure preference, my hands are just sweaty, not all coats suits it.
Meanwhile i bought Delux GT625 PMW3360 for 18 usd on aliexpress xD
Its the quality durability not the features dude
If only they could get the quality right then. I am not saying it’s a terrible mouse. I actually like it a lot. But if issues from past mice are going to carry over to the new version, I would like to see more features to justify the price
the reason there is no software is because it adds some delay to the mouse
iHX why is that
No it doesn't add delay to the mouse lol.
thats zowies reason tho thats what they say
a mouse should be as raw as possible in term of input. thats why, even a slightest modification of software, is not considered as raw performance.
yea and zowie says the difference is enough to not use a software
could you help me sir?
Too the best of my ability. What’s up?
Screenbite My hands long 18cm and 8 cm will be this mouse for me good?
Yes my hand is slightly bigger 19.5 by 8 and it is ever so slightly on the small side for me. It should fit you perfectly
Sorry 19.5 by 10
Screenbite mister thank you! your pad mouse very big .
I just bought an FK1... Fml
How long ago did you buy it? you could get that nice refund lol
Screenbite a month ago from amazon.
Mickxal hmm I think as long as it hasn't been a full month. You should be able to return it. Always worth a shot!
DAT CHIN :D
I have the mouse, it really isn't that great. I hate not having software to personalize my DPI and will never buy another mouse without it. Hype for nothing that special.
the scroll wheel is louder than a ratcheting wrench. pathetic attempt money grabbing company this mouse not worth the upgrade over ec2a
u need to be better at r6 dude
pls get a better mic!!!
Diederich Garz better mic?
Zowie mice look like a common office mouse. Bad quality
THIS IS THE WORST MOUSE I HAVE EVER BOUGHT 90 pounds FOR A PICE OF SHITE
