    • @cyruscatfisher
      @cyruscatfisher 7 лет назад +2

Medium, I don't have a tape measure at hand, I've swapped my FK2 for EC2-A with a friend of mine when he came over for a little QC/QL LAN session, just loved the shape of it. I've had a DA2013, was slightly too big for semi-claw grip, I found, but cool for those lazy drunk days to rest the hand on palm grip. If you like your DA, I'd suggest EC2-A.

A decent mouse but nowhere near the power and performance of the apple magic mouse. I mean the 1cm high soap design suitable for any type of grip and hand size, the wireless Bluetooth input for maximum input performance, the epic gaming-grade sensor, the multi-touch surface, it even has a single gaming-grade button click switch to make sure that there are fewer moving parts and fewer things that can break. Apple > Zowie 2016

After years of playing with right-handed only mice (Deathadder, G500, G400s) I just picked mine up yesterday and I tested it out in Overwatch for 2-3 hours. I was coming from a G400s so the lighter weight and low profile shape definitely took me by surprise. I was amazed at how well I was able to aim and play with it. I was able to make shots with McCree that had been a challenge before. With other mice I used it felt like I was fighting against the mouse itself to try and aim but this dude just glides around my QcK Heavy incredibly well. Cheers for the review, it was spot on.

1:12 "low hump in the middle" that's exactly what is most suitable for me(shape-wise) and if the size is okay then it's the mouse for me. The less curl you need to make of your hand while holding the mouse, the more comfortable it is for you to use longer and avoid hand strain. the liter and flatter and a bit smaller mice are always better for a long time fps gaming.

Great, great choice! I have been avoiding Zowie mice because they have no programmable dpi button and I use that button to throw grenades but Quake Champions has no grenades so I finally decided to buy a Zowie mouse (just to test in QC (I must be crazy)). I only needed 30 seconds with this mouse to realize this is the mouse that will beat all my scoring records. Best sensor implementation of all time, a step ahead of the ROG Gladius II in terms of sensor implementation. I couldn't really test it in Quake Champions because of the immense lag, ping and bugs so I gave up on that. Instead I tested it in Doom Ultra Nightmare Arcade lvl 12 with the Roccat Alumic (speed side) mouse pad. I used it with what I call the puppeteer/crane grip. That grip puts the sensor right at the exact imaginary center between the 5 fingers (middle and index finger are basically at the top of the mouse, tip of my thumb only reaches half of the back thumb button (can't reach the forward thumb button without readjusting the grip). Well, to put it simply, with this grip I can do things that were never possible before. 96 Headshots on lvl12 of Ultra nightmare on first try, but not just regular headshots, it's aimbot style headshots with a speed and precision that I simply cannot do with any other mouse and pad combo. Absolutely surreal!!! Just a shame this 3310 and 3988 sensors lose track on my favorite pad (Corsair MM600 smooth side). This FK2 with the 3360 sensor, programmable dpi button, thumb buttons placed 1cm further back, a slightly more rounded V-Shapped back near the end and extra metal feet (like A4tech Bloody) for guys like me who love the unique feedback and consistency of metal feet on hard and smooth pads would make this mouse absolute perfection in every sense. If it also had easily replaceable switches (like Gladius II) and replaceable mouse wheel I would gladly pay up to 120eur for a new version of it. Just take my money already.
Anyway, I've just realized you have 2 different lists of favorite mice. It makes much more sense now. Your top40 didn't make much sense to me from a Vet point of view but makes a lot of sense if is more directed at the regular gamer in general. The g403 is the Jack of all trades, master of none. Perfect mouse for players who are not at World Class level yet. Can''t go wrong with it. The only mouse I find curious in that personal list of yours is the Cooler Master MasterMouse S. Only because of sensor positioning. I found it curious that you managed to adapt to it. It's one of those things that makes a mouse completely incompatible with me.
Well, keep up the good reviews. Btw, the guy that is already one light year ahead of everyone else in Quake Champions is not Zero4 (I red it wrong, saw the Z4 for a split second and thought I saw Zero4), it's actually the Swedish Z4muZ. I won't even bother with the game as it is. I would need 10 hours of practice a day just to catch up to him in 3 months. Don't have the time, nor do I like the game as it is now.

As a experienced RTS-player I'd tend to say that the weight plays a pretty big role on a mouse, and the little over 80g of the FK2 is great because you have to move fast and precise in RTS-Games, which is hard if you dont have an ambidextrous mouse like even the EC2-A or a Razer Deathadder (which still some pro's use). Concluding I think the FK2 is a very good choice considering the old Zowie Mico was the go to choice for many korean Starcraft II professionals.

I've used it for QC and Dota2 last few days and this shape is just awesome and I can confirm it suits ALL grip styles, including mine which is a super weird hybrid on a 19cm hand. Hey Zy I bought the deathadder elite 3 weeks ago and although a great mouse I really jumped in head first with it.
After watching your video I measured my hand (same size as yours) and I went and ordered this mouse.
It feels leaps and bounds ahead of the Razer because I’m not stretching to be comfy. I’m way better on cs go too because of the native dpi steps. I used synapse to set my own custom dpi which resulted in choppy aiming. With the Zowie I set my desired dpi and In game sensitivity and I’m so comfortable with it.
Anyway just to let you know thanks for opening my eyes I now have to sell my Razer as I bought myself the Zowie bungee which I didn’t even know would be great.

I can personally vouch for the FK2 as I was originally sceptical of it - but it exceeds my expectations. The coating has not reacted badly to sweaty hands in the last few days of using it, and it's quite a comfortable shape - even for a warped palm-claw grip. The scroll wheel has not bothered me at all - and seems great for gaming and completely usable for internet browsing.

Probably the EC2-A because of it's ergonomic design. And to answer your second question: If you have a program to assign hotkeys to your mouse buttons, you can. But because the mouse doesn't come with a software, you can't "just" do it (I should mention, that you can never use all four side buttons at the same time - either the two on the right or the two on the left side).

Why are these zowie mices looks so cheap and ugly in colors(?) even the overall black looks more silver/grey and not matt more shiny and the wheel color in this old grey give the mouse even in 2016 a 2001 look, especially with this ugly red logo now combined with the other points I said!!! And this standard, cheap, "plastic" cable (the cable from my old Logitech g400 just "broke" or fall of/out from the mice itself, I can't trust these rubber/plastic cables anymore if they have this imgur.com/a/OHjhD) I want a zowie with a true "Jet" Matt Black color with white highlights Logo Wheel or any other color like this yellow from the old zowie fk2 model that looked sick! And the cable should be something like from the dm1 or ss sensei with clothes and fully plugged into the mouse like this imgur.com/a/jIR5E. I wish I could Order a dm1 pro s (but more smaller like the fk2) in my country.
I just wish there were a Zowie, shape like dm1/sensei, small like the fk2, better cable(cloth), better/fresher colors, for righthand only (and lefthand only) so on the right/left site are no buttons like on the dm1 pro and maybe some color-lights like logo and wheel that's it.. simple shit

I know it sounds redundant, but PLEASE give the FK1 a try, you might like it more.
For me, the slightly increased size really adds to the comfort and makes the mouse easier to grip/pick up AND aim with.
I can almost guarantee that it won't feel too big, since (for me at least) the ec2a felt more bulky and bigger than the FK1.

+N3XUS What is your hand size according to Zy's measurement?

    • @TheSolidlad
      @TheSolidlad 8 лет назад

      Doesn't matter.
      That's not a golden rule...
people seem to take everything as an always-true law when u attach numbers to them...
You can't rule a mouse shell out based on numbers, because whether or not it'll be good for you depends on the FEELING you get when you are holding it, which cannot be quatified.
If you can't take my word for it, because my word means nothing compared to the rules that the almighty "Zy" set for you (btw, that's just how you see them, he tells everyone in every video that the measurements are just there as help and a general indication, nothing definitive, they could be true in some cases, but not in every case), then take HIS word for it, as previously, before testing the FK2 he said that the EC2a has just the right size for his palm, anything smaller or larger would not be as good of a fit... but now, after testing the FK2 he actually prefers its smaller size...
      Say whaaat?
People actually need to try out mice befere they can pass judgement???
Can't they just rule them out based on hand sizes, grip widths and shit???
(btw, I understand why you'd want to do that, as most people don't have enough time and money to try out every single candidate... but unfortunately, no other method works)
      Jokes aside... no.
      You can't.
So stop trying to do so.
Sorry for the rant, this block of text isn't only directed towards you, but rather everyone who got himself really caught up on the numbers and forgot that they are only there to give people some general idea, because fitting numbers reassure people... like mice are similar to clothes or something... they are not.
"if your hand size isn't between X and Y number, you definitely won't be able to aim well with this and that mouse"
^Stuff like this is simply not true, and I'm trying to stop people from thinking the opposite.

Got this mouse yesterday and wanted to reassure anyone thinking about getting it. This mouse is nearly perfect. The size, the weight, the quality, and the sensor are just perfect. Only problem is, I came from a Razer Mamba TE and I was used to the right handed ergonomic shape and since the FK2 is ambidextrous, it took me about a day to get used to. After I did, it was absolutely perfect. I play competitive Battlefield 4 and my precision and recoil compensation dramatically improved as soon as I began playing. I'm very happy with this mouse and I can see why it's Zy's current favorite.

    • @FitzRaGaming
      @FitzRaGaming 8 лет назад

Do you think I would prefer it over the EC2-A (I currently use the Logitech G303)

    • @RustyDurant
      @RustyDurant 8 лет назад

That's a tough decision. I'd say for me, one of the best, if not, the best things about the FK2 is its small size, shape, and weight. It may also depend on which grip style you use and which game you play. For example, I said I played a lot of BF4 where I have to pull down and to the left to compensate for the recoil (especially with the AEK-971's recoil). That movement wasn't exactly difficult, but because of the size, shape, and weight of the Mamba TE and its higher arch, it wasn't the easiest thing to do either. I could just feel I needed a smaller mouse. The moment I began using the FK2, that motion became much easier due to the lower arch, smaller shape, and significantly lighter build.
So, in your case, I'd ask myself if I think I'd be more comfortable and perform better with a smaller and lighter mouse; since that's the main difference between the FK2 and the EC2-A.
Considering you're currently using the G303, which is already one of the smaller mice, I'd say you'd feel more at home with the FK2, since the size, shape, and weight are already quite similar to the G303. (For reference, my hand is the same exact length and width as Zy's). Hope this helped.

BSC-Saturn Hey, your comment helped me make my decision on the fk2 as well... I mainly play bf4/bf1/titanfall and other fps games. In bf4, the aek is my gun of choice and the recoil control isn't easy. So ill take yr advice seeing that this mouse helped your aim and control a bit.

just bought this mouse and the g403 and all I can say is wow. The shape and size of the FK2 is literal perfection if you fingertip grip, IMO. The weight is also amazing. I am not even joking when I say that my aim improved drastically on FPS games within the first hour of trying it out. Beats the g403 by a mile.
However, my main issue is the buttons are rather stiff. I'm coming from the g502, which has fairly easy to press buttons, so it may just take some getting used to. But geez, I feel like I'm giving my forearms a workout using it! If this mouse had lighter left/right clicks (the side buttons are fine btw, very easy to press) it would be nearly perfect.

Ended up going to a shop and tried various mice myself. Based on similar hand size and similar grip I planned on trying out the FK2 or the EC2. In the end however I ended up going for the FK1. The FK2 felt too cramped for my hand. On the EC2 the side buttons felt terrible and mushy compared to the FK Series (Use them as push to talk)
That said coming from a Roccat Kone XTD and Logitech G500, the lighter shell, good build quality and the fact that it is not really noticeable to anyone not familiar with these mice means I can generally use it wherever I want without garnering to much attention is a welcome upgrade and I'm very happy with this choice.
Thanks for the in-depth review of the product from the eyes (hands?) of an actual well performing FPS player.

As always, nice review. My experience with the FK2 made me appreciate my EC2-A even more. I have small hands with a fingertip/claw hybrid grip. The thing I never could feel comfortable with the FK and ZA series mice was the subtle slope on M1/M2 buttons (also the shell makes the clicks stiffer than they have to be). From the front or the rear, the main buttons have this subtle: / \ slope. It kinda forces my middle & index fingers near the edges of the mouse which sorta feels weird. The EC2-A may be slightly heavier, but the way the M1/M2 buttons of that mouse is contoured makes sure your middle/index fingers stay on the sweet spot of those buttons. Just my experience. Keep the reviews coming Zy!

Just bought this mouse on your (great) review. Very impressed. I also own the Logitech 502, Corsair rgb pro 65, Razer chroma rgb and Logitech MX Master. I play CS:GO mainly and have concluded that the fk2 is now my goto fps mouse.
FK2 is light, responsive and very well made. Included is spare slippy feet. Which should be included with all premium mice.
    A brief comparison to the fk2;
#Logitech 502 is heavier, well made (apart from the rattling scroll wheel) slim and easy to control, extra buttons for on the fly changes. Dpi by colour indication is good, has the added appeal of easy switching parameters for different modes with again colour indication. It's my close second choice fps mouse.
#Razer chroma rgb is a bit heavier, fairly well made (the scroll wheel seems to rock and click side to side & shouldn't do), the software is a touchy point as you need to enroll to be able to use it! A bit too wide for my finger grip control but very responsive non the less.
    # Corsair rgb pro 65 is quite a bit heavier (even with all weights removed), it's very well made, dpi switching is the best imo with colour indication. Just wished it was not so wide and they removed or repossitioned the sniper button. The width makes it less controllable in fps games and the sniper button makes it uncomfortable for prolonged use. This would possible be one of my all time favourites if they resolved these two issues for me.
#Logitech MX Master is not a gaming mouse for fps, but just a very comfortable, very well made mouse. Recommend if you casual game and want a Rolls Royce of mice.

I think a good design for ambidextrous designs with buttons on both sides is to make it possible to press the buttons in and tighten a hex screw on the bottom of the mouse so they stay flush with the body of the mouse (until you loosen the hex screw). It should be possible to do on both sides so left-handed players can disable the right side and also for players who prefer the mouse no buttons at all so they tighten the screws on both sides.

I ordered this mouse a week ago and been playing with it ever since. Tried many mice myself and keep searching for the best mouse. So far i love the FK2 because it's kinda small. Only thing is i noticed some tracking problems on the lowest lift off distance on my Corsair MM300 mouse pad. That's a shame. I decided to buy an Corsair MM200 mousepad and try that. Because that one is plain black i thought the problems would go away but i noticed bad tracking on that one aswell on the lowest lift off distance. That pretty bad IMO. I now switched the lift off distance to a higher setting. That works, but sometimes my mouse still moves when i'm picking it up. Is that a regular issue on cloth pads with these mice? I used my Corsair M65 Pro mouse on the same pads and that worked pretty well on the lowest LOD settings.

Have you ever tried switching to using a mouse with your left hand? I got an FK1 recently and I've been using it a fair bit with my left due to some pain in my right arm, it's a bit weird in games still, but I'm getting used to it for general PC use. One bonus to having the mouse on the left is that the keyboard's main section can bemore central to you and therefore more comfortable to type on (you don't have to bend your wrists at a funny angle), and the mouse does't have to so far away from you for this. I've found that smaller tenkeyless or 60% keyboards are good for this reason too. Just curious as to how you handle ergonomics and pain/RSI when using M/KB, it's kind of an occupational hazard for us computer users! :)
    Thanks.

Is it worth to swap Rival 310 for FK2? I used Kinzu V3 for almost 3 years, and at septembar last year i bought RIval. Its heavier than Kinzu for 15 grams, overall bigger, especially higher, because its not ambidextrous like kinzu its more righthanded . I used to play cs 1.6 on kinzu v3 using finger tip grip from this video ruclips.net/video/wSl15sDzCL4/видео.html but in csgo movement feels more bulky comparing to cs 1.6 and i just couldn't play with finger tip grip because it just didnt feel right. When my Kinuz died i bought Rival 310 to try out palm grip. It's been 7 months since i bought it and even today i just cant find way to hold it so i can spray normally. I'm playing 1.5 in game sens and 400 DPI, on Qck+ mousepad. I have to play with my elbow on a table and my arm gets sweaty and kind of get "glued" to the table and i cant move it at certain moment when i need to spray. Using this mice with finger tip grip for me is like using brick instead of mouse. My hand is 19.5cm long and 10.5 cm wide.
Is it worth switch omron mechanical switches, truemove3 sensor for huano and 3310? :/

I was wondering if you would like the FK2. I've been using the original FK (same size as FK2) and now the FK2 for many years. I tried the EC2-A on your recommendation recently, but came back to the FK2. The smaller ambidextrous shape seems to give me an edge over the EC2-A also. The EC2-A is more ergonomic, but I aim better with the FK2.

Glad I found your channel. Been watching videos for hours. Very informative. They get better and better - more concise and detailed.
    Anyway, few questions.
Hand is about 20cm long and 11cm wide. I prefer a finger grip, my palm hardly touching the mouse surface, controlling the mouse mostly with my thumb and ring and a little my pinky. I'll press just a little with the part of my hand where my fingers start.
I also prefer the buttons not to curve too much downward.
Currently, due to your recommendations, I've been using the G302. It ticks off a lot of what I described above( and of course a great sensor) but I really don't like the angles as the ones in the back of the mouse rub sharply against the back side of my hand. I think I'd enjoy a more curved, slightly sloping back.
I'm also thinking I would like a mouse that has a wide grip and the 302 isn't very wide, as I feel I'm really squeezing or relying on top pressure more than I'd like to control the mouse.
Ok so there are some key details.
Based on what I've seen here I've been thinking maybe the FK1 would be a good fit for me. The ZA11 seems more for palm users - that big rear hump may be in the way for me. The EC1, I'm not sure. I've also wondered about the Gigabyte (300?).
Anyway - recommendations? I saw someone talking about the 1.1a. I remember using that mouse and feeling it was perfect. I could pick it up and control it without hitting the buttons, with just my thumb and my ring finger. So maybe what I'm seeing - the FK1 - is best.
Thanks for your videos and site. Look forward to more reviews.

I'm glad u like the mouse I'm currently using. Athough It's not perfect (I use the older revision one, I still have input delay and stuff). I'm preety sure you like smaller mice, because it's easier to make small adjustments with smaller mice if your grip is pure palm.
Also I don't know if you already noticed, but your "go to go character" from overwatch Pharah can actually bounce off things with the projectile, I believe it was binded to E key. It's not as good as in quake, but still (if you gonna play overwatch of course). Have fun using the FK2 :D

I am forced to finger tip the mouse because my hand isn't small, meaning I have a lot of room to move the mouse with my fingers which gives me a lot of precision within a small radius. I would recommend others trying it. don't worry if you have big hands or you use large/ergo/palm grip you may just like it

I have a fingertip grip, and I think that the buttons should ideally be on top for that grip. If I want to simultaneously move the mouse and press buttons on the side with my thumb, it's kind of hard. I lose control because thumb, pinkie and ring finger are the ones that mainly move the mouse. When the buttons are on top, I can move the mouse freely with almost full control while using my index finger to press the buttons.

Hi! Assuming I consider ZA11, with its microswitch reliability problems, somewhat clunky wheel and easily abradable matte finish, as a bit overpriced, what other mouses would you guys recommend? I've just returned mine due to double click problem in MMB and to be honest I'd love to switch to a slightly less pricy mouse with softer MMB. I browse more than I play games and I got a sore finger on more than one occasion even though I often work as a construction worker. It's nowhere near as bad as the unusable wheel on the old Logitech G500 but still...

Which one suits better for claw grip (EC2-A, FK2 or ZA 13), taking into consideration the size of my hand (18 cm) ? Thank you.

+Rocket Jump Ninja I really like the G302's shape, but I want to test something similar from Zowie, so which one do you think I should try first? EC-2A or FK2? I am pretty sure FK2 should handle similar to the G302, but since you tested both, I would appreciate your feedback on the matter.

With medium sized hands would palm grip work on this mouse and the right set of buttons not be a problem

Love this mouse - it's excellent for fingertip grip with it's low hump and low weight. Moved away from my EC2A / FK1+ / XM300 despite my large hands.
Colin Chapman was onto something: remove weight and add lightness.

Hey Zy, could you maybe help me with a purchase decision? My hands are 18.5 x 9.5 cm., hybrid grip (more claw). I've been looking at the zowie fk2 or ec2-a. Problem with zowie, it's nowhere to be found in EU, and I would have to wait 1 month to get them. (or pay 80 eur ). Do you think I should get them for that price or just wait for stock in different stores? I'm also thinking about getting the DM1 Pro. Thank you!

I use the fingertip grip. Should I use the EC2-A or FK2. I have small hands.

+Rocket Jump Ninja for the buttons do you prefer the fk2 or the ec2-a? or are they both just very similar to you?

When you used the Zowie FK2, did you use palm grip? I have slightly smaller hands (couple of millimetres) than you but I'm scared if I'll buy it, palm grip will be not completely comfortable on the long run.
How tall are you actually in person? For comparison reasons...

Nice review as always! Are you planning to make an ambidextrous mouse comparison between the fk, za, sensei/dm1, and g900 anytime soon?

I play with the FK1 and the PTF-X and I love it. I kinda need the FK1 since my hands are 19cm long and about 10-10.5 cm wide. I think the FK1+ would fit me abit better because its wider.. but the weight is increased too much so I dont want to change to it.
Great review, Zy! keep it up.

What's your grip mate? I have about the same hand size as you and kind of hybrid fingertip. Im wondering which zowie should I get. Thanks

+Vicente Nobuyoshi I find myself hybrid fingertip it too or claw it - still hybriding it. Feels more natural to do so with the FK1 for my hand at least! If you get one let me know how it feels for you!

Do you think it would be good for someone with large hands like Top to bottom 20cm and 11cm Side to side with a Hybrid Fingertip / Claw ?

Hey, my hands are about 19.5 x 9.5 cm and I'm thinking to buy the FK1/2. I palm grip for browsing and hybrid palm/claw for gaming. Should I get the FK1 or the FK2? I already tried EC1-A but I'm not a fan of the shape. Thanks
