    Thank you for this. I have had several litters of Salukis who may present with diarrhea and are negative for giardia. We have a waterway going thru our property and I know there is giardia present. I routinely treat for giardia and consider it "OK" when the diarrhea clears up. My old vet retired and agreed with me on this line of thought. I'm so glad to hear you verify this treatment.

    So basically what you’re saying here is that if they are experiencing these symptoms they probably don’t have parasites? I’m just trying to figure out why my dog is excessively licking his paws for the last year.

      There many reasons dogs lick their paws. It may be allergy, aches or pains, separation anxiety or boredom, self grooming, parasites, skin irritation, or secondary infection. I would advise to consult with your vet and possibly a dermatologist also. Sheryl at Revival

    Have you seen tapeworms infect the animal owners? How were they diagnosed? Ova and parasite tests for people do not test for or detect tapeworms. Do you know the protocol for diagnosing people with tapeworms? Thanks

    • @RevivalAnimal
      @RevivalAnimal  6 месяцев назад

      Diagnosis of Taenia tapeworm infections is made by examination of stool samples; individuals should also be asked if they have passed tapeworm segments. Stool specimens should be collected on three different days and examined in the lab for Taenia eggs using a microscope.
      These infestations are found worldwide. They can be caused when humans consume raw or undercooked animal products that contain worm larvae (for beef or pork). Humans can also become infested after close contact with animals like cats and dogs.

    If you have never seen hookworms or tapeworms in your dogs or puppies, is it worth following the 5 week fenbendazole protocol?

      Katya, This protocol is recommended by Dr. Greer but we don't tell anyone they have to follow this recommendation. Sheryl at Revival

      Hi Roxy, usually licking of the paws/feet is a sign of a food allergy. You could try either the Vet Basics Chlorconazole spray or the Pramoxine spray. Michelle @Revival

    i'm a bit confused why heartgard includes roundworms and hookworms when the worming tablets we use have this prevention also?

    • @RevivalAnimal
      @RevivalAnimal  Год назад

      Kerry, I would recommend to consult with your vet about using a heartworm medication that may not include round and hook worm prevention vs one with. Because it's a prescription medication, only a licensed doctor can speak with you regarding the product. Sheryl at Revival
