Hendrix was popular because he was black, and a novelty on a rock guitar. He had talent, but not anywhere near SRV. Any argument about it would point out the fool that thinks SRV was not the GAOT. End of discussion...

Un Garza what? Because Jimi was black? Novelty? Cmon man, SRV is out of this world but if there was no Jimi, there was no SRV. Let’s give credit where credit is due. Eric, Jeff, Pete all said when they saw Jimi for the first time, they stated “what da f are we gonna do now?” SRV on any given day is just as good as Jimi but Jimi is the one who revolutionized guitar world and played role model to many of the later guitarists.

I’m a incredible proud DALLAS, Tx man & was very blessed to have pretty much knew of his childhood threw to his incredible success and untimely passing. For.a really short & skinny man he had huge hands that were insanely strong. Yes he used the largest strings that were produced in that era and he had them way higher off the bridge than basically anyone I’ve ever heard or seen live. #1 there had a lot of neck changes due to how easily he bent them or broke them. Breaking strings were common every show. A very down to earth man that was as humble as anyone I know of that like so many others. Passed way to soon. He went threw Hell but overcame addiction and flourished for a very short period. When Hendrix said he was the greatest guitarist of all time its hard to not agree with the icon. They were so far ahead of everyone else it was crazy. I often think about if they hadn’t passed and were still here. What their sound would of become with the technology and equipment threw out history getting better & better until today’s period. They built their equipment/guitars from pieces to produce that sound that blew anyone away who was fortunate to hear them or see them live. Including piers that were just as or more successful as they became. That’s the greatest thing any musician can have. Huge stars saying your the best. I can’t imagine the feeling he had hearing this from Jimmy. RIP Stevie

@@markwambolt2820 yeah just watch his left fingers when he resumes playing after dropping his pic the first time. He's bending the floor bottom strings all the way up almost all the way up the fretboard like it was nothing. He was so rough with his guitar that's why he was continuously having to tune it during a song. The strings would lose some from being forced to bend when they didn't want to he was phenomenal just amazing
