I'm with you Rob, No Man will EVER be in Stevie's league, different class pure GENIUS! Discovering this Man was life-changing for me. Damn Helicopters!!!
I still cry about it. Nothing hit me harder than his passing. I knew this helicopter pilot 10 years later. He told him he couldn't fly because of weather and Stevie grabbed Clapton's chopper to head to the airport, the rest is history.
So true. The evil that we have walking the Earth today, then SRV taken like that, so young and at the very top of his game, beyond cruel, not just a GENIUS, but a very humble Man too. 30 yrs or 30 days, I'll never get over it. When this world nightmare is over, I will leave London UK, fly to Austin to visit Stevie's statue, then onto Dallas to pay my respects to the Man himself. Peace to you Brother x
It really was a crime. The pilot was inexperienced and flew in crappy weather at night. It was a very bad decision on the part of probably a handful of people.
That beautiful song chokes me up Everytime! There's no one better in my opinion. He makes the guitar cry, and makes it feel emotion. That is genius, and it was a pleasure to just listen to this legendary man Mr Stevie Ray Vaughn!
I shed tears every time I hear this song...his message about propping people up instead of putting them down, shows you his humanity towards all people...saw him in 87...we were awestruck...he will always be my GOAT...
Here I am, 57, standing in the bathroom at 02:30 crying about a guitarist who died 30 plus years ago, because I couldn't sleep and decided to watch your reaction video. Sometimes you make me sooooooo mad. But I still love you and I'm glad you've become a fan of SRV...THE GOAT!
OH YES BROTHER,,,,,, STEVIE WAS / IS ... DIRECTED BY GOD ... EXCEPT... WHEN HE DRANK ... THEN ... YA KNOW.... THE KICKER WAS STEVIE HAD ,,,,, DEDICATED HIMSELF TO SOBRIETY... RECORDED AN ALBUM WITH JIMMY... THE FUTURE WAS SO BRIGHT FOR HIM / EVERYONE AND THEN ....... GOD CALLED OL STEVIE HOME ..... THIS PERFORMANCE IS KNOWN AS THE GREATEST LIVE MUSIC PERFORMANCE EVER ..... ON ALL LEVELS ... SO MUCH TO SAY HERE ...... TY CHARLIE .
The brightest candles burn out first, they are meant only to burn for a short time, but brilliantly, Stevie was such a talent, he dazzled us for a short time, then left us in awe.
Never ever be a guitar aficionado that can actually make me tear up like SRV. One of a kind performer. Gave his heart and soul. Love him like he loved the world. Wish he was still here. And I really respect you for feeling his music and understanding what he was trying to convey through it.
SRV wrote this song for his friend Charley Wirz, after his passing. Charley was the man who made & serviced SRV's guitars. The white guitar he plays during this song was custom-made for him. Fittingly, it's name is 'Charley'.
I was at the concert at Alpine Valley. We didn't know at the time but we just saw limos and ambulances scrambling everywhere. Great and Terrible night.
@Hard News TV 2 I was living in Washington DC. I had just broken up with my girlfriend and was already down in the dumps. I was sitting at my desk at work reading the news paper.(remember those?) It was on the front page. I got up, closed the door to my office, sat back down at my desk and cried like a baby.
How many people noticed that he switched out his guitar in mid song? He started out with his regular guitar, the worn and faded Fender Stratocaster he lovingly called his "First Wife." First Wife was originally painted with a dark "sunburst" finish, though he had worn much of that finish off though constant playing. He was clearly having a problem because he kept fiddling with one of the the tuning keys. At 2:20 he looks over at one of his people offstage to let him know he needed a backup guitar. At 2:30 we see the guy come up behind him and do something. When the camera cuts back out he's now playing a completely different white guitar. Stevie Ray was no stranger to guitar mishaps. His very aggressive playing style broke many strings throughout the years and he and his crew became masters at making seamless guitar swaps in mid song. There's a famous clip of him playing 'Look at Little Sister' on Austin City Limits when a string broke. On that occasion the camera was pulled back and you get to see the whole thing. He never missed a beat and the audience went wild over it. Definitely worth watching.
There is one thing that everyone knows about a great guitarist; just play a few seconds of their playing, any song, and instantly you know who it is. That is the ultimate testimate to all of the current, former and deceased guitarists. And when Stevie straightened himself out his playing took a big leap forward. I will miss him and its now 31+years he's gone but I listen to his music every couple of days every week.
And Stevie Ray didn't even read music....think about that. WOW I am almost 62 and I have always loved good music. I grew up in the 70's, 5$ concerts it was a wonderful time to love music. SRV was my favorite, I remember when he died...it was terrible, and I truly would have loved to see what he would have done. I miss you....
SRV brought people of all walks of life with only one message-love one another and treat each other kindly and stop hating. I saw his last show here in Wisconsin at Alpine Valley and as I write this I'm getting goosebumps! You got a subscribe! Keep the love going!
It's something that just takes over you when Stevie Ray Vaughan sings those Soulful songs and I can see it in your eyes it just takes you over and transport you somewhere else somewhere that your mind remembers beautiful things
Yes there was one but there will be another one after SRV like there was one after Jimi. And on and on. That's what hope is. The art...any art, never dies. Ever. Somewhere out there, pick a subject, skill, art....there is someone out there that eats sleeps and lives it and god puts his touch on them on 'wallah'... magic.
I saw him play this on his last tour. I think he closed with it then, and he’d gave this little speech at the end, like in this video. It was different than this one, I remember it was mostly about his recovery from addiction. The one thing he said then that’s stuck with me was, “the people that really need you, they need you NOW, not some time later.” It felt really sincere, like he wanted to connect more personally with the audience... which was huge.
Oh...I think they did. And Gibson guitar. Rock and roll was invented, inadvertently, by Fender and Gibson etc. No electric guitar, no rock and roll. So that solves the 'who invented rock and roll' question. Technology invented rock and roll as it has invented everything.
I saw him once in 1983 in Dallas. I don't know how to explain it, it was like maybe God was channeling blues through him. I've see 200 concerts and that sticks out as the greatest performance ever.
Thank you for making srv legacy continue...this guy guitar is unreal he was such a legend ... survived from drugs and alcool and died in a stupid accident ! Rip SRV luv u 4 ever ...
One of the coolest things about Stevie is how he started out a nobody with these other two guys called Double Trouble. Once producers and record companies found out how good he was, everyone who was anyone came a calling with all kinds of big money offers. Most if them said he needs to ditch the other two guys. Said we can get you the top players ever to back you up, but you're going to be a bug star and you need a star backup band. He refused all offers that didn't include the other two guys. If that's not loyalty, i don't know what is. Hell, it was hard for him to play certain guest appearance sort of concerts that would be with a different band. The other two guys had to talk him into it and assure him it was alright. Yep, Stevie had great friends in his life, because he knew how to be a great friend. His band said how he was simply a kind sweet man. That's his real legacy. That should be everybody's goal for a legacy. RIP brother.
This is probably the FILTHIEST SRV performance I've ever seen! Thank you so much for reacting to it! Every time I watch this it gives me goosebumps! SRV takes it to a new level in this performance!
Friend had an extra Tix to see The Fabulous Thunderbirds (Tough Enough) in Hawaii in 1985, so I went and it changed my life because Stevie Ray Vaughn and Double Trouble were fronting for them. Never heard of SVR before and even though I liked alot of different genre's, Reggae, (seen Bob Marley in 1979) punk, SKA New wave etc........I never really heard the Blues before. Our seats were in the back of the arena but when Stevie started playing, it was like it just touched me deep inside. I found myself with my arms literally, resting on the front of the stage, as I somehow floated to the front and next to speakers that were 25 feet high! Anyone thats seen Stevie, knows how LOUD he liked to play....haha That had never happened to me before or since! Since that day, I have seen as many of the old blues players (and current) as I could........ Jack Dupree, Ray Charles, Clarence Gatemouth Brown, BB King, Cat Courtney, Luther "guitar Jr." Johnson, Matt "guitar" Murphy, Buddy Guy, Robert Cray, Walter Trout, Bonnie Raitt, and of course Jimmy Vaughn who was in the Fabulous Thunderbirds. Oh what a night..............I think Stevie was a gift to all of us and he somehow could channel music like noone has ever done. He was an open conduit as the music could endlessly flow thru him! I miss you Stevie so much. RIP my man
I've just started getting into Stevie Ray. I think the may be the greatest guitarist ever, but after hearing Texas Flood and Voodoo Child, I had the impression that his singing was just good enough, but not great. I'm blown away at how good of a singer he is here. All of a sudden, he may be my favorite vocalist also without the guitar.
As HIS Friend It's Wonderful To See The Young People of today Witnessing the GREATNESS of This Man, It's Brings Tears To MY Heart, Thank you for being able TO SEE His Heart and Love,. May God Bless You In All,. True Respect Young Lady,....
He was the GOAT. This song makes me so sad. It reminds me of my Dad and I miss him so much. He loved the blues. He always said it was the most honest music ever. That if it was in your soul, it was impossible to hide it. ✌🏻❤️from Texas
We sure MISS YOU Stevie !!! We will always LOVE and THINK of YOU often with the way YOU touched our Hearts. Its a common pass time here to sit by the fire pit for hours listening to the best tunes and skills that has ever been on this planet. Helps to get our minds right from the stresses of life. We hope the angels love you as much as we do!! From East Texas ✌
A legend died way way way to young. I Listened to Cold Shot, my dad say yea thats Stevie Ray. Oh right the greatest of all time. Just forgot to mention that. Good god
Just dropped his pick but you would never know it.Stevie plays with a 12 gauge guitar amazing isn't it?love him from the first time I heard him. Thanks for sharing.😃
I actually work this show at the Capitol Theater in Passaic New Jersey I was a stage and you know setting up stuff but during the show I was standing on his side of the stage like 20 feet away I'll never forget that show rest in peace Stevie👐👐👐👐👐👐👐
If you weren't watching the video you'd swear that guitar was burnt the fuck up after he squeezed the last note out. He's channeling something I'm envious of...Very appreciative he shared it with us.
I like seeing peoples reactions to seeing SRV live.. Life without you is an amazing song... My girl, you got blessed with one of the sickest guitarist to bless the stage.... SRV played with many legends of blues..
Some of my greatest memories are of seeing Stevie Ray every time he came to Colorado, front row at Red Rocks was something you can keep with you forever. Great reaction!
Love it, love it, love it! Amazing man and musician. Was honored to see him live in concert and was blown away by his talent and love for his fans. R.I.P. you are missed.
I wish I was Stevie Ray. He was like a God. He was like a bad ass gunslinger. I saw him live, before he became so famous, I knew nothing about him. and he floored me. I bought a guitar the next day.
The best description for a first-time listener to SRV I've ever heard goes like this, "It's like he and the guitar are coming for your soul and there is no escaping".
When he says "There is no longer a time to do things, like what happened to a few friends of ours in the mother country, down south" He was referring to Africa and apartheid. He hated how the people in Africa were oppressed by any number of groups. The whites in South Africa, the warlords of the Congo and other countries. He was awesome human being. Thanks for reviewing this for me.
Yay my birthday twin (Me and Stevie Ray Vaughan both born on October 3rd). Definitely rocking out with you as always beautiful queen. 👑 👑 🌟 🌟🌹🌹❤❤😍😍 Also, love Stevie's speech about every one of us should love and look out for each other. Especially with this situation that's going on in this world. That really touches my heart the same way your inspirational words touches my heart (which is #1 just like you're my number one forever.)
You get the full SRV experience with this one: Behind the back, playing without using his picking hand, picking with his teeth. The full experience in one song.
Even so you've got to try, people told SRV he'd never be as good as Jimi Hendrix...but here we are! Never listen to anyone who tells you you can't do something!
got to see him in Texas i believe around 1986 he closed with this song when he went into the solo at the end i remember he took off his hat and put it on the mic and let loose i made it down to the stage and passing by him he looked at me and just winked i will never forget that day rip Mr Vaughan the best ever for blues
I've been playing guitar 40 years and SRV takes guitar to a new level like EVH, Jimi Hendrix or Randy Rhoads .... SRV played with so much SOUL, each notes spoke to you and explained things to you !!!!
I saw SRV in my city in the summer of 1983. He was opening act for the Moody Blues. I knew who Stevie was from his MTV videos, but I had no idea the man was the god he was. I was there to hear Nights in White Satin, not SRV. To this day I feel sad that I witnessed greatness and didn't appreciate him.
Hi i saw stevie 5 times he loved coming to Montreal.the best show was when he played at Jerry park he flew in from his father's funeral.we saw something special that night
That’s crazy…I just played this song at a show last Thursday night and even did the break where he talks and I said that SRV had a message for us back then and it pertains to today more than ever..and commenced to say something similar to him. Was awesome
I watched this for the first a little over a year ago. Right after I went to my FB page and the first story I read was one of my oldest childhood friends passed away. Irony?
Greatest guitarist ever.
I'm with you Rob, No Man will EVER be in Stevie's league, different class pure GENIUS! Discovering this Man was life-changing for me. Damn Helicopters!!!
Oh yeah, SRV IS THE G.O.A.T!
one of em. jeff healey as well.
Yeah, you aren't wrong about that.
Johnny Winter best imo
Stevie dying at 35 was a crime against humanity 😢 R.I.P. brother
I still cry about it. Nothing hit me harder than his passing. I knew this helicopter pilot 10 years later. He told him he couldn't fly because of weather and Stevie grabbed Clapton's chopper to head to the airport, the rest is history.
The second time the music died. Rock in peace my brother.
NOPE ,,,,,,, ERIC CLAPTONS HELICOPTER...... THE DAY HE DIED THO ,,,,, REALLY WAS A HORRIBLE DAY ... WE CRIED .... OMG .... SRV WAS A SAINT ..
So true. The evil that we have walking the Earth today, then SRV taken like that, so young and at the very top of his game, beyond cruel, not just a GENIUS, but a very humble Man too. 30 yrs or 30 days, I'll never get over it. You should consider yourself a very lucky man to have seen this legend perform 🙏🏼 I wonder what he would think of today’s blues artist as well
Here I am, 57, standing in the bathroom at 02:30 crying about a guitarist who died 30 plus years ago, because I couldn't sleep and decided to watch your reaction video. Sometimes you make me sooooooo mad. But I still love you and I'm glad you've become a fan of SRV...THE GOAT!
I hear you Brother , I feel exactly the same, greetings from London UK
He was NOT of this world.
From the moment SRV went into his solo he was basically taking us to Church, because only god could do what he did with that guitar.
Truth
That is the truth!
The Lord giveth, and also taketh away....
God WISHES he could do what SRV did.
OH YES BROTHER,,,,,, STEVIE WAS / IS ... DIRECTED BY GOD ... EXCEPT... WHEN HE DRANK ... THEN ... YA KNOW.... THE KICKER WAS STEVIE HAD ,,,,, DEDICATED HIMSELF TO SOBRIETY... @Rafael Felan but we still have him on recordings.........the Lord Giveth and the Lord Taketh away.....but Memorex is forever!!!
STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN WAS A MAN WHO DIRD IN A HELICOPTER CRASH

There will never be another. I’ll never forget the morning I woke up and saw the news of the helicopter crash.
@Hard News TV 2 So did I. That entire week was just shit for me.
Hard News TV 2 I’m a St.Amant LA. boy! 👍🏻
I was at the concert at

There was nobody like srv. Thank you for all the music and love you passed our way, stevie.
That was a different side of SRV...RIP Brother. We are still loving your music!!!!

Master of his craft, no one put the feeling into their music the way he did. God Rest Your Soul SRV!
STEVIE and JIMMY,greatest of all time,PERIOD
A guitar player without equal. Love the 409.
Nothing can catch her
Nothing can touch my 409 (409, 409, 409, 409)
Giddy up 409 (409, 409, 409, 409)
Giddy up 409 (409, 409, 409, 409)
Yes there was one but there will be another one after SRV like there was one after Jimi. And on and on. That's what hope is. The art...any art, never dies. Ever. Somewhere out there, pick a subject, skill, art....there is someone out there that eats sleeps and lives it and god puts his touch on them on 'wallah'... magic.
He was beautiful man I miss him.SRV. RIP🙏🏼
My mother has terminal cancer and this song just hits me right in the feels every time. I bawl like a baby every time.
He broke his tooth on a guitar solo. Lifetime mic drop. God bless this man. RIP SRV
This has always been one of my favorite SRV songs. Another simple, but powerful song by Stevie is Life By the Drop.
The best, my avatar, love this guy😎 Fender never imagined their strat being used like this-possibilities endless with SRV. Great show today-thanks👏👏
After God created the Stratocaster, he needed someone to play it, so he created David Gilmour and Stevie Ray Vaughn!!!
Oh...I think they did. And Gibson guitar. Rock and roll was invented, inadvertently, by Fender and Gibson etc. No electric guitar, no rock and roll. So that solves the 'who invented rock and roll' question. Technology invented rock and roll as it has invented everything.

SRV is easily my favorite blues singer. And it's not close.
SRV Baby! Caught him 5 times. Killer concerts.
This is now your favorie song. Mine too......
Everyone who hears an SRV album falls in love with his music.
Nice!!!!!...Bringin the SRV!!!!!...Man was a guitar wizard
Am I the only one in tears listening to this masterpiece!!
Always makes me cry....
Sit back enjoy!!
Thank you for making srv legacy continue...this guy guitar is unreal he was such a legend ... survived from drugs and alcool and died in a stupid accident ! Rip SRV luv u 4 ever ...
For sure. I think this song captured your mind. I could see it in your face. Love you. I think your GREAT. Keep it up.

Brings me to tears every time I hear it. He was beautiful.
This is actually one of the shows that I work with stevie rayvon as a stage hand this is the capital theater in Passaic N.J
Beautiful song and beautiful message from our brother Stevie Ray.
Always loved this one. We used to play this at a club I managed,to honor friends when we lost them.
This is probably the FILTHIEST SRV performance I've ever seen! Thank you so much for reacting to it! Every time I watch this it gives me goosebumps! SRV takes it to a new level in this performance!
So glad we at least have awesome footage like this we can still experience his greatness. What a great performance that was! R.I.P SRV
SRV gotcha girl, your hooked
You never really realize how good they are till they stop making music.
Stevie played the guitar like his life depended on it. His vocals were great too.

He wrote this for his close friend Charley Wirz .. Charley worked on his guitars early in his career
My favorite song ever recorded. Much respect for keeping this man's music circulating. I'm subing
His music is timeless everything he touched was a masterpiece
I miss him so much.
God gave him an extra bolt of lightning in those fingers when he made Stevie RIP my Texas Brother .......
I luuuvvvvvv how you appreciate SRV! I've watched 3 of 4 reactions of yours to SRV.
Nobody past nor present will be able to top this guy, the absolute MAN 👍
Just completely otherworldly!!💖💖💖💖💖

I’m crying so beautiful in everyway
He had to change out guitars and didn’t even miss a beat, wouldn’t know he did it if not seeing it, no body like Stevie.
Thank you. No one else seems to even notice that 🤗
He was the GOAT. This song makes me so sad. It reminds me of my Dad and I miss him so much. He loved the blues. He always said it was the most honest music ever. That if it was in your soul, it was impossible to hide it. ✌🏻❤️from Texas
My first show ever! 1985 Stevie, ZZ Top and RUN DMC! University of Hawaii stadium. I was 9.
We sure MISS YOU Stevie !!! TY, for a real reaction.
He lived in my city, and we loved him well.
If you weren't watching the video you'd swear that guitar was burnt the fuck up after he squeezed the last note out.
He's channeling something I'm envious of...Very appreciative he shared it with us.
What else can you say besides...GOAT!!!!! 😎✌️
This is the best video with sound .....
Stevie talking the truth...
Americans need to come together
I like seeing peoples reactions to seeing SRV live.. Life without you is an amazing song... My girl, you got blessed with one of the sickest guitarist to bless the stage.... SRV played with many legends of blues..

Did anyone else see the guitar change? 😊
And him losing a tooth too?
You can’t witness this and say he is not the best ever! Bar none! Forget it! Damn!!!
Yay my birthday twin (Me and Stevie Ray Vaughan both born on October 3rd). Definitely rocking out with you as always beautiful queen. 👑 👑 🌟 🌟🌹🌹❤❤😍😍
Also, love Stevie's speech about every one of us should love and look out for each other. Especially with this situation that's going on in this world. That really touches my heart the same way your inspirational words touches my heart (which is #1 just like you're my number one forever.)
Best ever! Man that was good and so are you! Thank you!!!
"Go on and live again LOVE AGAIN" powerful stuff
You get the full SRV experience with this one: Behind the back, playing without using his picking hand, picking with his teeth. The full experience in one song.
Stevie Ray Vaughan man. REST IN POWER
Girl, you are so right, ain't nobody gonna be able to do that! Lol
Even so you've got to try, people told SRV he'd never be as good as Jimi Hendrix...but here we are! Never listen to anyone who tells you you can't do something!
@@jamieharper2554 Amen!
got to see him in Texas i believe around 1986 he closed with this song when he went into the solo at the end i remember he took off his hat and put it on the mic and let loose i made it down to the stage and passing by him he looked at me and just winked i will never forget that day rip Mr Vaughan the best ever for blues
I 100% understand what you mean
Bought tears to my eyes. 1st time from Stevie.
He really was pure heart expression here from our brother.
The guitar god takes us all to church… sweet reaction young lady
May his Music Live Forever RIP SRV
Hi i saw stevie 5 times he loved coming to Montreal.the best show was when he played at Jerry park he flew in from his father's funeral.we saw something special that night
That’s crazy…I just played this song at a show last Thursday night and even did the break where he talks and I said that SRV had a message for us back then and it pertains to today more than ever..and commenced to say something similar to him. Was awesome
Stevie Ray Vaughan.........says it all....
The most beautiful song to a dead friend ever.
I watched this for the first a little over a year ago. Right after I went to my FB page and the first story I read was one of my oldest childhood friends passed away. Irony?
Thank you for mentioning Jimi Hendrix! A definite inspiration for SRV. Two legendary talents that were taken from us too soon.
I cry my eyes out when I hear this tune every time. Lost a lot of people.
Love it when he breaks his tooth off and looks for it on the stage !!!!
