Aeroplan has announced yet another exciting promotion this week: the ability to spend your way to a higher level of Aeroplan Elite Status!
Until October 15 or November 30, depending on when you had opened the card, simply spend $10,000 on a premium Aeroplan credit card and you’ll level-up your Aeroplan status.
If you have no status, you can earn entry-level Aeroplan 25K status. And if you have existing status, you can earn a one-tier upgrade to the next status level up!
And with some careful advance planning, you could even earn all the way up to Aeroplan 35K starting from no status at all, if you combine the spend-$10,000 promotion with the current record-high signup offers on the American Express Aeroplan cards.

Thanks for explaining - as someone who doesn't like to travel and literally only signed for up for the points - I'm not sure if I want to 2x my spending just to get that upgrade. Feel like both those cards are decent if you do fly a lot however.

Hey Ricky! I am on track to get boosted to 25k status because of my Amex Aeroplan Reserve card spend this year, but I am wondering if you have tips for moving up tiers from year to year. As someone who used this unique spending offer to achieve 25k, do you think it's feasible to make it up to 35k the following year? I travel fairly frequently, but not enough to have achieved 25k organically. Does having some status (25k) make it easier somehow to achieve higher ranks? Thanks again for your amazing content
Ricky as always fantastic video explaining everything. Question for you is there anywhere you can see you 100k point tracking or do you have to track it yourself?
If you don't currently have status, you'll see the 100K tracker on your "My Aeroplan" dashboard. If you already have status the tracker doesn't show up so you have to count manually (but they're working on making it show)

Great Info!! Question If I get the Amex reserved card (primary user) and my wife the supplementary holder can she still upgrade her status as she is already a 50k teir status with Aeroplan. I have no staus so the staus for me would be great. In other words, can we both upgrade our staus with the Amex cards with Aeroplan?

You suggested being able to use this promo, plus the Everyday Status Qualification to boost above the 25K to potentially 35K or beyond. However, to confirm, you do STILL need the SQD (actual hard dollars spent on AC tickets) to qualify for the initial status (ie. 25K) for this promo to boost you to 35K, correct? To simplify - there's no way to spend your way to high status using credit card spend, without ALSO doing AC ticket spend, correct?

Jokes aside, I really like the advanced strategy in maxing out both the personal and business versions in order to jump two status levels from nothing to 35k! It's definitely a feat that will be hard for most, so thank god we were able to pick up 25k during the travel at home event from before!

The terms say that your card "must be open and in Good Standing on the date by which this Offer is fulfilled", and the latest date that may happen is January 31, 2022.

Love your videos! I signed up for the TD VISA infinite privilege back in February 2021 and I have about 19k in everyday purchases between myself and and my girlfriend who has a secondary card on the same visa account. I read the T&C's and they were not the greatest to say the least, or I am just stupid. I know that the 10k minimum spend requirement needs to be on the primary card holder, so all purchases made from my girlfriends card should not count to that total. But what I am unclear on is the date range to spend the 10k. I says the 10K must be spent between July 1st, 2021 to November 31st, 2021 for me as I opened the card after January 1st, 2021. However I just registered for the offer on August 10th, 2021. Will it back date the purchases I have already made since July 1st, 2021 as part of my total 10k minimum spend requirement?? or does that total begin the day you register?? hopefully I made sense of this, thanks for putting out your content, it's really helpful

I have been an Aeroplan member since 1984 - almost when it began I think. I have used my points for a few trips over the years but probably never very efficiently. Given the recent changes to the program and my wish to use my points more effectively, could you please provide a list of your (Aeroplan) videos in the order they should be viewed so that I can logically and systematically build up an understanding. I get a bit confused with the terminology and jumping from one video to another. Tx.

What are the bag tags that 35k gets?
But doesn't the Amex reserve card already give you unlimited maple leaf lounge access and checked baggage? I guess the only real benefit here is the eUpgrades.
Ricky, I have no status now, and in order to double dip to get 35k, I am wondering if the everyday spending 100k can be earned by more than 1 credit cards? You mentioned combining 50k offer from both Amex Reserve Personal and Amex Reserve Biz. Thanks!
Yes, the Everyday Spending can be earned on more than one card, as well as through bonus points from the eStore etc.

So I got the amex aeropla business reserve but the 10x on dinning and Gas does not add up to your EDQ.

If I have an AMEX MR plan and convert points to Aeroplan, do these converted points count towards the 100,000 points needed to earn the 25K level?
No - it excludes transferring points from other programs
I have the TD Aeroplan platinum are they going to bump me up to 25k or that's just for the premium card

Just wondering - if you sign up for the Amex Reserve + Business Reserve and did $5,000 per card for the 10x eats, wouldn’t that get you the 100k points to get 25k AND count as the $10,000 spend needed to get bumped up to 35k as well? Or would I need to spend an additional $10,000 above and beyond the $5,000 per card to get the double bump?

Now I regret picking the platinum instead of the Aeroplan reserve
I have a question mate, i am a 25k member now, and i got the AX reserved card on July 28, 2021, and i will send $10,000 by the end of this week, as i understand that i will be upgrade to 35k member next week. and also i just applied for the td infinite privilege card today on OCT 1, 2021. if I spend $10,000 on this TD card before Nov 30, 2021, am i able to upgrade to 50K member? thanks

I am pretty sure this has been answered as a No! But I am going to ask anyway. I have all 3 cards(long story). I am currently Elite. Can I use this offer on all 3 cards to go from 35k to 50k, then to 75k and finally to 100k. I have not been SE since 2011 and sure do miss it a lot. I'll have no problem spending the $10k on each card. What do You think?
Most likely not, since the terms say it's a one-time upgrade. Still, what happens if the system glitches out? Who knows 😉
