a factor alot of people arent taking into account is everytime steelers ravens play their stars leave walking wounded. Ravens would be wise to sit lamar for sheer health reasons.

As a Steeler fan, if I was the Ravens I'd sit my star players. Better to have players rested and healthy than possibly injured.

Last time Ravens sat their star players on a great season, they ended up being one and done. Start the starters for a quarter. Starters not playing for a couple weeks will be detrimental because they won’t have any rhythm come playoff time.

Everyone keeps bringing up 2019 playoffs and I understand it. But the factors that people are leaving out: all season the Ravens ran the ball insanely and that wasn’t the game plan in the playoffs. Also, how many drops did the WRs/TEs have with passes that should’ve been catchable? Not to mention Lamar didnt have to run as much as 2019 because of Gus, Keaton, & Justice. These two teams are not the same.

They are first in the afc by a long shot so I say just rest all your starters because the last thing we need is injury’s
For me it all depends on the O line if the O line is all playing Id like the starting O to play some of the game, if 2-3 of the O line are held out for being dinged up I don't want Lamar to even suit up.

Resting and taking a potential 2 week break can be a negatove too. Treat it like a preseason game: start your starters for a quarter or two, then give your backups a chance to win the game and gain invaluable experience! Plus Ruldoph for the Steele's is becoming hot and is wanting another win!

You rest EVERYONE and don’t play ANYONE. Take advantage of winning out and earning two weeks off to nurse those nagging injuries and heal those bumps and bruises. THEY EARNED IT. They’ll start the postseason as the healthiest and freshest team
2 weeks is enough time for the team to get out of a groove. They just talked about it from the 2019 season.

Took two weeks off...well, actually they had no meaningful games after locking up everything late November so they didn't have a game of any importance in the month before. Jacksonville, who got in via a collection of miracles (namely a missed FG kick by Morton Anderson), went into Denver and WON. Rode it all the way to the AFCCG.

2019 wasn't about rust, that offense was never going anywhere, specially playing from behind. Greg Roman abandoned the run early and made Lamar throw like 60 times when he wasn't that good in the pocket, had no receivers(they dropped everything that game) and still finished with 500 scrimmage yards.
I wouldn’t play their starters but at the same time I’m fine with it. They need to have both Steelers vs Ravens games earlier next season. I wanna see my team try to sweep Lamar Jackson.
I know why the league did it, but I rather have the Raven/Steeler games be in the middle of the season….actually I don’t mind if one of the Raven/Steelers games be the home opener.

Just a few notes on my Steelers. So last year they were bumped out by Miami. Also Does anyone remember the year the Steelers came in just like this and went all the way to the Super Bowl? Also Big Ben was QB then and he was a gun slinger. Rudolf trained under Ben so he is not afraid to throw the ball. I've been saying all along no Trabisky just Kenny and Rudolf. Anyway we just need a win and lots of sacks and interceptions to increase the stats. I hope Warren runs up the field like a pinball and we get a few more Angry runs!!!

as a Steelers fan, just show some mercy on us cos we are messed up by Matt Canada. We are no threats. But realistically from Ravens point of view, I will play my starters before half-time and rest them, not wanting to lose them to injury plus having some reps before going into the bye.
I always look forward to the Steelers-Ravens every year. It's been the best, and remains the best rivalry in the modern era. I hope both teams play well and stay safe. Happy New Year.

I'm conflicted. Part of me wants the Ravens to rest their starters so the Steelers have a better chance of making the playoffs, another part of me wants the Ravens to start Lamar Jackson so that it's one of those classic Ravens Steelers rivalry games. Either way, the boys will need to come out hungry for the win.

Sit all the starters. Get the reps in practice to stay relatively fresh, the Steelers aren't a playoff threat, and if they make it in by beating our backups, they'll get a quick reality check when/if they play our HEALTHY starters play them for real.

I guess after Saturday rather we sit lamar or not guess what either way it's still 2 weeks of rest. No matter what who Coach sit out or not. Ijs. But, like Coach said they will rest the 1st week and get back to practice before the playoffs start. Sooooooo. I do believe that Coach know what happened in the Past when they got they got the bye and he's not going to let that happen again. Even Lamar said he don't want to happen what happened then. Just have faith and trust in the Team. Nobody want that to happen again. Ijs. This Team is different than they were back then and has learned from it.
It’s 3 total weeks of no playing tho, and practice is not where near the intensity of a game so it’s still rest technically

The Texans and Colts play each other, the Jags are likely winning since the Titans have nothing to play for (they would be wise to lose and get a higher pick), and the Bills are probably winning since it's likely the Dolphins are sitting their guys.
The chances of the Steelers making the playoffs is slight as it is. Why try to eliminate them when they could be eliminated based on lots of other things that could go wrong for them?

As a Ravens fan, I'd rather face the Bills than the Steelers, to be honest with you. They're the one team that we've struggled mightily against in the Lamar Era. Them and the Browns are the only two teams that could beat us.

If they make it to the playoffs, the banged up Dolphins lose to the Bills and K.C. beats the Chargers (which is likely) then the Steelers would have to play the Chiefs in Kansas City. That would be a great matchup and the Chiefs have the playoff experience. Of course their receivers will have to play better.

That's probably why Bills v. Dolphins is SNF. That's really the only marquee game.

The only thing is, the Steelers could STILL get in with a loss. Jacksonville loss and Denver win and the Steelers get in regardless.

In 2019, both Andrews and Ingram got hurt in the game before the last game, and that affected both. Roman didn't even call any running back runs after the first quarter. It wasn't because they took time off, it was because they played a bad game.

Honestly, if I’m the Baltimore Ravens, I would let Lamar play the first quarter. I don’t think the ravens win because the older locked up the number one seed. Why would you want to play him the entire game plus I think the Pittsburgh Steelers can hold off and win against the ravens because they’re playing with house money, ever since Tomlin put Mason Rudolph as a starter.

Either way, we are risking something. Its either we don't rest our starters and risk a key player getting injured on either side of the ball, or we rest our starters and risk not only being rusty in the Divisional Round but also the possibility of us having to play the Steelers again.
