    It's nice to see reviewers actually using these on the trail, not just the roads.

    Welcome to ultra! Now you know first-hand that it’s overwhelmingly a mental exercise to go beyond 26.2 miles. Which means you can run as far as you want, Nick. Raced my first 200-miler recently and it isn’t all that different. Happy trails and roads and thanks for your excellent reviews! Troy from Colorado.

    Another great review and those views 😍 tip for “sloshing bladders”, once filled turn upside down and draw the air out through the drinking hose. Should prevent any sloshing when running 👍🏻

    Great review Nick, going above and beyond! Think you covered all my top beaches in one run 😂 Very interested to see how these compare with NB SC Trail when released

    ok, i did not expect Nick to do ultratrail, as usually its Kieran's territory, as Nick usually do road run full-send 😅

    I did my longest run ever recently - 17 miles. It was mostly along the coastal path of Finisterre. I had so much fun. There is something about coastal paths that just make me want to go on and on.
    Great video. Not sure the shoes are for me and my budget.

    Great review Nick and surprisingly positive. I’m yet to be convinced that we need carbon plates in trail shoes though.

    I feel like it is a road shoe. The only difference is the vibram. At $260 I doubt many trail runners will buy.....will mostly see them at the airport and grocery shoe.

    Another excellent review, I want to like this shoe and it sounds pretty good but not at that price. As you said, there are other shoes that do as good a job, if not better, for a lot less.

    Brilliant, honest review Nick - thank you! (And what a beautiful place to run :-O ) Nice to see someone taking the time to review an ultra shoe over an ultra distance. How can you do the shoes justice otherwise?! Looks like they help eat up the miles (at pace) while saving/protecting ones legs over large distances, in the same way the Invincibles do for the roads (but without a plate...??). Interesting observation about the upper though. As a specs wearer myself I'm interested to know if you wear anything to help keep them on?!

    • @TheRunTesters
      @TheRunTesters  Год назад +1

      Thanks John! It’s an amazing place, bit wet for our trip this time but couple of lovely days! On the specs, I got this pack 26 Pairs Silicone Anti-Slip... www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0921HFT2S?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share and use the longer attachments to hook behind my ear

    I am used to seeing Kieran on these trek's (but I suspect he being careful before Berlin), +3 hours on a run , welcome to the realms of the non super human Nick. Good review but my main question is what can these give us , that a trail shoe for £100 less can't?

    Good that you actually seem to like them. Would you actually race in them though? The width I actually found a bit disconcerting especially in less firm areas where felt was going all over the place. My feet are about 10 cm at their widest point and these are 13 cm for me in a UK 13. Maybe I am not best suited to this shoe! Yeah comfy but I was kind of expecting something a bit easier to bob along at and I felt of all the 370g of the shoe for me especially when going uphill.

    • @TheRunTesters
      @TheRunTesters  Год назад +2

      Atm they’re the shoes I’ll use for the 50 miler I have lined up. I don’t know if I class it as racing in my normal way though, as I’ll just be aiming to do the distance really. I don’t think they’re speedy for short stuff, prefer lighter smaller shoes for that. Very long distance focused I guess. I did find them great for ticking along in and like the higher drop than most trail shoes. Mine are 300g so a lot lighter. The width def feels odd at times!

    Hi Team. Thanks for this! Looking at these and some others (Endorphin Pro 3, Speed 4, Superblast) to run my first Ultra in. It’s the Comrades Ultra (all road) 90km. What shoe do you guys recommend? Looking to average 6min/km heal striker with high arches. Any advice would be great. Thanks.

  • @Arki2019

    So good at what it was designed for long rolling runs with the ability to go fast and adequate grip for a lot of surfaces, price is high but so are all other shoes at min and you will be able to get discounts once a wider release has happened, so at a cheaper price it makes even more sense. Re the weight I’ve seen a few reviews say it runs light on foot and the weight isn’t noticeable. Bit like the overrated nova blast 3 is light in hand yet runs heavy clunky and brick like.
