Consuming tempeh as part of a balanced diet can contribute to your vitamin K2 intake, supporting bone health and overall well-being. How Your Body Makes Glucose: It mainly comes from foods rich in carbohydrates, like bread, potatoes, and fruit. As you eat, food travels down your esophagus to your stomach. There, acids and enzymes break it down into tiny pieces. During that process, glucose is released. Your body is designed to keep the level of glucose in your blood constant. Beta cells in your pancreas monitor your blood sugar level every few seconds. When your blood glucose rises after you eat, the beta cells release insulin into your bloodstream. Insulin acts like a key, unlocking muscle, fat, and liver cells so glucose can get inside them.

Yes, tempeh is similar to tofu in that it is a soy-based product, but they are not exactly the same. Both tofu and tempeh are made from soybeans, but they go through different processes during production, resulting in different textures and flavors. Tofu is made from soy milk, which is curdled and pressed into a solid block. It has a smooth and soft texture and takes on the flavors of the ingredients it is cooked with. Tofu is commonly used in various dishes, both savory and sweet. On the other hand, tempeh is made by fermenting cooked soybeans with a specific type of mold. The fermentation process binds the soybeans together into a compact, firm cake. Tempeh has a nutty flavor and a firmer, chewier texture compared to tofu. It is often used in savory dishes and can be grilled, sautéed, or marinated. Both tofu and tempeh are nutritious plant-based protein sources and are popular choices for vegetarians and vegans. They are versatile ingredients that can be used in a variety of recipes, offering different textures and flavors to suit various culinary preferences.
