  • In this video I take you for a walk along the beautiful Rodgers beach in San Nicolas, Aruba. Rodgers beach is situated accros the popular Baby beach but is much less crowded. Some locals and visitors insist that it's "the best" beach on Aruba. This was filmed in the afternoon and there was a partial cloudy condition at the time.

    We went to baby beach the last time we went to aruba and it was too many people. So we went over to Roger's. If was OK, just too much seaweed. The beach itself was great. We tried snorkeling all the way over to the boat dock but were disappointed. Still a great time

      Good to know about the snorkeling, I don’t ever recall it being any good. Otherwise the Rodger’s beach is nice and quiet compared to BB.

    How's the snorkeling there? Are there different species of fish in the seagrass compared to the reefs? Just wondering it's on my list for new snorkeling spots next month. And also hello Hyro.

      Sorry Josh, I would have to get back to you on this one. I haven't snorkeled here recently. While the water looks clear, it didn't seem like there was much to see.

    How difficult is it to get parking spots on the different beaches? How much does it cost to park there?

    • @LetsgowithHyro
      @LetsgowithHyro  2 года назад

      Hello Charles, thank you for your question. It’s actually free and not difficult at all. For the Palm Beach I recommend parking between the Divi Phoenix and the Riu or next to the Hyatt resort.

    If memory serves me correctly that area is on the way to Baby Beach. I remember a community of old darilic houses with the door wide open. Also I remember seeing what looked like a penitentiary in a very isolated area not far from there. When we got down to Baby Beach I immediately said let’s get back to the Riu. I can’t help but wonder what happened to that little community that was there that seems people just up and left? That’s a really weird area.

    • @LetsgowithHyro
      @LetsgowithHyro  2 года назад +1

      It used to be a closed off community of houses for some of the Oil Refinery (Lago/Esso. After it closed, many left leaving the houses empty. In recent years, many have been sold and the area is slowly redeveloping itself, but indeed many abandoned houses still remain. Rodger’s beach and the nearby Baby beach are some of the best on the island with Baby being the more crowded one.

      @@LetsgowithHyro I alway wondered why the houses were abandoned. Thanks for telling me. There is something I alway wondered about Curaçao. While driving around the beautiful island of Curaçao I couldn’t help but notice many big projects were abandoned just before completion, hotels, motels and some rather beautiful houses. Looks like a great deal of money was invested then abruptly forsaken. Could you shed a little light on that it would be much appreciated? We always watch and enjoy your videos. Can’t wait to get back to Aruba!
