Hi John. Glad to hear you liked the bag. These really are awesome everyday bags for you essentials and a wee bit more if needed. I hope you're well my friend and have a great weekend
Great review buddy! I like to rock a small sling bag on my back when cycling, do you think I'd have problems with this bag swinging off my back and to my side? Thanks for the great videos!
Hmmmm.. great question. I think there's a chance this might sling off your back. Although, I had a play with mine just and if you tighten the strap a wee bit more it does stop it from sliding sound. The Cordura material it's made form does have a slight granular texture so it does grip on a bit. I hope that helps
Hey OG, seems they're not available in the US, however they must just be out of stock here. I know they definitely have them on Amazon. If you change your local store to the UK, they will ship them over without any import duties. The knife laws here are tough however we can still carry knives. The main laws are no longer than 3" and blades have to be none-locking, so slip joints and friction folders are king. This is just for public carry. I can legally carry a machete when I'm bush crafting, or a Mora Kniv when out walking with the family. I've made a quick video on our laws a few months back. A lot of it comes down to common sense too which the Police are good with. If I'm being a nuisance and making trouble they'll take any knife from me, whereas if I'm being my normal amazing self (😂) they're cool. Have a great week buddy

Now that's like asking which daughter I love the most 😆 If I had to choose it would be The One. The only reason is the flat front panel on The One. With this having that protruding front pocket it makes it a wee bit more obvious under a jacket. The One simply disappears under a coat or jacket. Hope that helps TR 🤘

Hey great video. I have some questions. I'm traveling over the pond to visit my daughter in Bury St Edmond when we can. So I'm wondering what am I allowed to carry for my edc knife and multi tool . Also backpack or messenger bag? Thanks for your time.
Hi Steve, really sorry I missed your message. EDC knives are definitely legal over here however with a few stipulations. Blade length needs to be 3" or less and they can't lock. Slip joints and friction folders are all welcome. The Swiss army knife is the perfect UK knife law friendly blade... I'm not sure about that last bit. Both backpacks and messengers are legal here too? 😂
@@MoorlanderEDC LOL I was more asking which to use for kinda EDC travel, backpack or messenger bag? Also what can you tell me about Bury St Edmond? Can you recommend an knife and multi tool? Bury is nice. There's a great Abbey and cathedral there. I think you'll be fine with your Wave. Although it locks, things like multi tools are a grey area. The police here factor in common sense. As long as you're not attacking the locals then you'll be fine. Check out my review on the Urban Courier from Helikon Tex. Its a great EDC messenger which I've travelled with. Hi Fabio, sorry I missed your comment. I hope you've had a great Christmas and New Year. Yes, this is easily as strong as the Flex. I wish the added that too. They do a similar bag which is like this and a Maxpedition Versapack called the EDC Side Bag. The top panel above the front zipper pocket is hook and loop lined on the outside so they can make them like that - amzn.to/3cxJXsq
So after the Admins Pouch failing a bit my wants and needs, this is another bag I could try out :) , you see, what I am trying to have is ONE bag that can be used either as shoulder bag or molle/belt mount one. Helikon Utility Pouch is perfect if you want to carry absolute everyday/city essentials, but with no medic kit of any sort. Admin Pouch gives you the possibility to carry few bits and pieces, but like I've mentioned over the IG, it gets too stuffed when I want to add the essentials. Those essentials for me are: home and car keys, wallet, sanitizing liquid etc. A universal bag (shoulder / molle-belt) would be used both in city and field/woods situations, where in the city it is more comfortable to wear it over your shoulder, and in the woods it is more practical to wear it on your belt, so whenever you do any field work, the bad doesn't get in your way like the shoulder bag would do. This is so hard to find the right one. I've had/tested about 5-8 different bags/pouches, and all were great to a certain point, a point when I wanted to use them in different situations, as mentioned above. As for the Helikon EDC Compact Shoulder bag, it seems to have enough pockets and elastic bands/holders for different EDC items. The two slim outer pockets seem perfect for a pen, which usually does not fit into most belt/molle pouches, unless it is a larger cargo pouch. Here I could even carry my Helikon pocket med kit inside the main compartment, and I think still plenty of space for a wallet or handheld radio/PMR/walkie-talkie. Also, the main compartment has ideal place for a velcro insert for keeping even more EDC items :) , I mean there are so many PROS here in this bag, and I wonder how many CONS :D :(
@@MoorlanderEDC Indeed! But you mean the shirt or the jeans trousers? :) I have both. BTW, I don't know whether Shadow Grey or Olive when it comes to EDC Compact ... I've ordered Shadow Grey, as it was the only one to be delivered on Sunday :) and I couldn't wait till Tue/Wed :D
I've had this 'lil pack for about a year now (I bought the Shadow Grey one) and my initial idea was to use it as a small bag I could keep in the front while hiking with a backpack or just being out in the woods with a pack and have it with small tools, snacks etc. Rather than a waist pack which would be in the way of my waist belt on the bigger pack. I have however found it to be really useful and comfortable and nowadays I carry it with me anytime I go out and my wallet, keys etc. have a permanent place in this bag. I simply stuff it into a bigger pack if I'm using one or I will just wear this. One change I would have liked and that I have thought about if I could mod it myself would be that detachable strap. But rather than using some form of quick release clasps as you mentioned I've been thinking about those hook webbing buckles that some packs have. So you could have like a hook on each end, thin enough that you can only just attach it but it sits tight and wont come off. That way you could easily remove the strap and just use it as a pouch. But then again, the strap isn't that big and doesn't take up much space at all. What I normally do is that I shorten the strap as much as possible when I'm throwing it into a bigger pack.
Hey Jon. I hope you're well Sir. !00% agree. These smaller shoulder packs are a life saver sometime when it comes to carrying the essentials, plus a bit extra. I think the detachable strap is a great idea. They have the hardwear on all their waist packs so it's readily available to them. Fingers crossed for v2.0. Have a great week buddy
@@MoorlanderEDCI got myself a Helikon Tex Haversack from their Bushcraft line recently and it's essentially the same bag as this with bigger dimensions and more options to carry on the outside. Have you tried that one?
@@jonn3132 Hi John, hope you're well buddy. Yes, I've seen the haversack and it'd on the list. I really like packs like that. The Bushcraft satchel is probably my most used everyday bag I have. Perfect for your essentials plus some extras. I'll pick up a haversack
@@MoorlanderEDC I've not tried the Satchel myself but I'm thinking it's to big for what it's meant for. Far to easy to fill it up when you have the space and then you get a heavy load to carry on just one shoulder. I think the haversack is good size for a short trip. if I want more stuff I'll use an actual backpack. I did get 2 x of Helikon Tex's SERE pouches I've attached to both sides on the haversack. Makes the sack more rigid so it holds shape better, good spot for small tools, gloves and similar without adding any weight to it. I do have a bigger shoulder bag I use for work, the Legacy 17 by Wenger, but it's not something I bring with me everywhere as it does get heavy. I can easily fit the small shoulder bag into the main compartment along with a lunchbox and a large water bottle in that one and it has loads of organization and possibility to lock.
Thank you buddy. Helikon are killing it at the moment. This might be the last one for a while however there'll definitely be more in future. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing what's new for 2021. Safe well buddy 👍

Hi Broad Side. The strap definitely gets a lot long. I personally like it a little shorter so it sits under my arm, whereas if I let the whole strap out, it comes down beyond my waist. Helikon have very quickly become a favourite of mine too. It's very easy to become a fan boy 😊 you're in good company here buddy 👍 have a top week
@@MoorlanderEDC hi there👋🏾, ohh i really thought it was the longest setting...their straps on the fannys are somewhat...too short, all up on my chest😄 but good to hear that you can expand down to your waist. speaking of comfort... yes, they make qualitystuff for a good price and its hard not to go with helikon. thank you for another very nice review👍🏾 love it...
@@broadside8326 Now you have me worried and I had to triple check. It's definitely not at it's longest. If you watch the opening of the content here, you can see the slide buckle just on the camera side of my shoulder. I've just put it on and opened it up. I'm 5,10 with a 42" chest, and the very top of the bags goes to level with the opening of my jeans pocket, or roughly half way down my fly. The strap on the Possum and Bandicoot is woefully short. I think I have it on its longest and it's tight over my chest with a coat in the winter.

Don't you have a problem with strap "cutting" in the neck? Or I am wearing it wrong. 😅
Good review and another great bag from helikon. keep up the good work sir. Rich
Thank you buddy. Helikon are killing it at the moment. This might be the last one for a while however there'll definitely be more in future. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing what's new for 2021. Safe well buddy 👍
@@MoorlanderEDC you too sir
Yeah great idea the removable strap I hope v2 will come soon very soon
Hey Helikon Tex listen to that guy he has good ideas make him your main tester before launching gear 😉😎
Hi, thank you for the kind words. If you are reading this Helikon, I'm more than happy to help out 😂 have a great week buddy
Another great video. Keep up the good work.
Thanks Chris, I really appreciate the kind words. Have a cracking week buddy
Great review shoulder bag buddy ! That's a shame that most of the people forget about the cool parts of the bag 😉
It's a great bag for sure. If you don't believe me, check out Papa Mike's channel too 😊 hope you're well buddy 👍
@@MoorlanderEDC I will check out my own channel XD
Ha ha ha... That was more to anyone reading this to check out yours 😂😂😂
@@MoorlanderEDC No problem, mate. Too bad that UK is that far from Poland. I would love to make a cross-review with you about something :)
@@papamike88 I'm sure we can make something work 🇬🇧🤙🇵🇱
Unfortunately it seems they don't sell it here in America. Otherwise I would totally buy it. I've been looking for an EDC bag lately and this one seems right up my alley.
I was also shocked when I was trying to find US affiliate links... However there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I highly recommend the Eastpak The One bag. One of the first ever reviews I made. Amazing quality and there's some really great prices now in the sales. Thanks for watching and following AK 🤙
@@MoorlanderEDC Wow, thanks, I just looked it up and that's a great suggestion. Thanks for taking the time out of your day, I really appreciate it. I will definitely have to check it out some more.
You're more than welcome. I'm glad I can help. Have a great weekend 👍
@@MoorlanderEDC You as well, thanks.
is this the longest you can set the strap?!🤯
if so then i dont understand why they making their straps so short🤔
not everybody is a slim jim,
a lot of us have that one center muscle and we have wide shoulders like men.
please helikon....i got 6 patriots and 6 camelon tshirts followed by the single gun case...im almost a fanboy,
i but i really need longer straps so i can use the gear.....😂
too bad...
@@MoorlanderEDC hi there👋🏾,
ohh i really thought it was the longest setting...their straps on the fannys are somewhat...too short, all up on my chest😄
but good to hear that you can expand down to your waist.
speaking of comfort...
yes, they make qualitystuff for a good price and its hard not to go with helikon.
thank you for another very nice review👍🏾
love it...
I think I will cut the strap, leaving a couple inches to flip over and make a loop, then attach my own strap. As you say, a 9 going on 10.
Or I might just go for the Claymore bag.
Nice review !
Thanks Pat. I hope you're having a great weekend
Werde ich mir auch kaufen. Nice.
Bitte komm zurück, wenn du hast. Ich würde gerne Ihre Gedanken über die Tasche hören, wenn mein Deutsch funktioniert ✌️
@@MoorlanderEDC So, I am now using the DeedL translator. I will write my thoughts when I have the bags. See you then. I'm going to put some sausages on the grill now ;-)
Hello my Anglo-Saxon friend and lover of the great brand Helikon Tex ;-) The bag arrived today and I can say with satisfaction that this bag from Helikon Tex is once again a great product from this brand. I always keep my word and have come back ;-) See you then greetings from Germany. Please let me know if the English is good or not ? ! Thank you! Subscribed!
From the Anglo-Saxon to our Saxon cousins 🤜🤛 great to hear you like it my friend. Plus, your English is amazing, was better than my Saxon 🤣
Great bag!
Thanks HD. Yeah this is a great shoulder bag for everyday essentials
@@MoorlanderEDC all the best from Poland! I'm giving a sub :)
Nice edc compact close body carry.
Hi NZD. 100% agree. It's great to wear under a jacket if you want to keep items super safe
IT’S NOT A PURSE!!
100000% NOT A PURSE 😂 definitely not
non removeable sling is a deal breaker for me :( dang it...
Hi John, I think they missed a trick there too buddy. I think the extra cost for two plastic buckles would have been nothing on top. Maybe there may be a version 2. Helikon also do an EDC side bag which is a similar style and has a removable strap. There's a few more pockets with the EDC side bag too. Or, have a lot at their Essential Kit bag 👍 hope these help buddy
CCW England style 💦🔫
I was going to rock a Nerf gun, but the neighbours were looking over the fence and I didn't want the police/Swat being called. Safety first 😂 thanks for watching FT, have a great weekend 👍
@@MoorlanderEDC Take care mate 🙏
Thought this was a ccw bag.😠
The main compartment is hook & loop backed and it'll fit a pistol. On paper it'll work... Might not fit a DEagle with three extra magazines, but should fit a Glock 26 or 43 (and a spare 50 magazines 😅). Check out my 5.11 Push or Viktos Upscale for something more suited for CCW. Hope that helps 🤟
Does anybody know the strap length
Sorry it look a while to get back. My strap on this one is 55 inches 🙏
