NOTE: As for what size firearms will fit = "Most" pistols with a 4.25" barrel or less will fit just fine. I recommend using a "holster" attached by hook-n-loop/velcro to the back interior panel. A very common sized pistol the GLOCK 19, fits quite well. If you choose to carry a firearm "off body"; you should practice retention (in case someone tries to take OR access your pack); and drawing the firearm in a SAFE manner. First practice with an unloaded pistol "extensively"; then: (when you feel you are ready) graduate to a loaded pistol with shooting drills. "Legal Disclosure". Please KNOW and FOLLOW ALL firearms laws for your area; and practice in a SAFE MANOR, at all times.
Alpine star and armilla nato strap :) Yes... They have that versatile insert system but they just didn't mention enough which bags are compatible. Thank you for highlighting it.
Hi Baul. I don't ride anymore, however I love the Alpinestar brand 😊 Helikon Tex should have caveats on all their gear that the inserts work with. Its not clear to all where they apply for sure. Thanks for the watch and comment buddy
I always run with a backpack, but since I'm upping my distance significantly and still wanting to carry a few small essentials, I'm looking at buying a wasitpack for it. Usually go with the helikon style brands since they last forever, and this is the first video I've watched on the bandicoot and I'm sold! Good video!
Thanks buddy. I really appreciate the kind works and I'm glad I help make an informed decision. The Bandicoot would be great for carrying the essentials whilst running. Stay say and well
Hi mate, Detailed information as usual. You always make it easy for people to decide if they want to buy the product or not. Thanks again and stay healthy.
Thanks Emiel, I really appreciate the feedback. From time to time I worry that my videos are a wee bit too long, however it's goof to hear there's everything you need in there. Spurs me on to make more. I have to keep my honorary Moorlanders sweet :D Have a great evening buddy
That's quite a lot there... And I'm sure you still have some room for extra gell packs and snacks 😁 it's crazy how it eats up your gear with ease. How do you find the thinner 1" webbing belt? I imaging a slightly wider on would help biking. Thanks for commenting 👍
I'm pretty late to the HK train however I'm a converted fan for sure. They've hit the nail perfectly and have the best balance of value and build quality. It's crazy just how many colour combinations they have for each product. Thanks for commenting and watching Chris, have a great week
Hi. Thanks for the review. I have chosen the possum, it is smaller and i am using it as my EDC daily grab bag. Sufficient enough. Keep up the good work!
I don't have their fany pack, but I order jeans, and for 65€ they are better made and more comfortable than most of my jeans like Lewis, which was my goo too forever.
Congratulations and thanks Molander, as always, for the video. It is a great review and in honor of the truth I admit that it is very complete. I have a Bandicoot waist pack and the truth is that you haven't forgotten any of its features or possibilities. Nice and complete video. Thank you and congratulations for your channel. Greetings from Madrid.
Do you think this little bag is connectable to other bags from Helikon, for example the Messenger bag or the EDC side bag? Maybe in the area of the hip belt? If you take away the belt from the Bandicoot it should be possible to connect it to the belt from the Messenger (or the other way round)! This would be a great argument to buy it because it would be a perfect bag to complete a multi purpose carry system.
Hi Dedrich. Brilliant question. This is definitely possible. The snap clasps have a split back to they can be completely removed. As long as they still have that inch webbing you could attach them to any other strap. It's also got the pass through behind the pack too. You could unbuckle any bag strap, waist strap, sternum strap and pass it through to have a smaller pack if you needed to ditch the larger bag. Super versatile. Hope this helps buddy and thanks for the continued support 👍 stay safe
Briliant review, definitely be picking one of these up as a light day bag. Also first time coming across your channel, you've got a new subscriber for sure! Looking forward to seeing more of your content, keep up the good work chap.
I didn't know there was 2 diff sizes! I got the possum but wondering if I should have got this one. I might have both eventually. trying out possum for a while first
Having held both, and with minimal EDC in mind, which do you prefer? I have 2 kids so I take the usual mini med kid, folding knife, leather man, torch, lighter and alcohol gel. All of my EDC carry’s dimensions would fit in either, just wondering which you think is better after holding both…
Hi, if you have a chance, I would be appreciate if you can review 5.11 LV6. I'm comparing these two Bandicoot and LV6. 5.11 just released the new version of LV6 (version 2) couple of months a go I believe.
Best video on this bag. thanks you helped me choose this larger bag over the other smaller one. Since its been a few years now how is it holding up? you just got a new subscriber.
Hi, it's doesn't have PALS webbing on the back no. I think adding it to a molle panel would be hard. It does have a pass through though so you can add it to a belt. Hope that helps buddy 👍
Hi Billy. That's a good question... from memory I think it's the Adaptive Green colourway. It's got a bit more brown in it over OD green which I quite like. Are you thinking of picking one of these up?
@@MoorlanderEDC Yeah, I ended up buying a few pouches I need for the range in Adaptive Green but its still on the way. Ill let you know how it goes once it arrives. Cheers.
Hi Muhammad. I can check tomorrow for you if you like. It will also say on the Helikon Tex website as well. The panel is the full size of the back panel. All the best my friend
Hi Darren. It carries really well. I've had it reasonably packed as well as just the essentials when out with the hounds and it's been great. I'm a 42 inch chest and there's plenty of room, even for a coat. Hope this helps buddy
Are you able to make the strap even longer than shown in the video. I only wear these types of packs cross body, but i need it to fit over a heavy fleece or a big jacket.
Hi Falken. The straps on these are reasonably large however I have a 42" chest and there's a bit more space to open it out. At it's largest it'll fit over my chest with a thick jumper and jacket on, however there's not much room to increase after that. I hope this helps. All my best
I just got the Possum today, and I am struggling to fit in my phone while having the bag on me. I have a Motorola One Vision, which is slightly larger than your S20 (160mm vs 152mm). With the heavy duty case it fits in from one end to the other leaving no extra space at all. It is quite OK when inserting the phone while I don't have the bag on me, I can fiddle with the phone a little and in it goes. But when having the bag on me it is impossible to insert the phone one handed. I need to fiddle with the bag itself, the phone, the pocket. I just wondered, do you think you have some more space in the large pocket of the velcro insert than it was in the Possum? I've looked at the Possum review once again, but can't tell from here. Thank you.
Hi Tom, if I have the question right, yes, there's more room in the main pocket of the Bandicoot. I can fit my mobile in there plus, wallet keys, dog walking stuff and more. Being able to take the velcro back out also helps as it allows you to lie things in flat without having to worry about anything on the back section. There are more set-up options available with the Bandicoot. I hope this helps. Have a great week buddy
@@MoorlanderEDC Thnx. I was talking about the pocket in the velcro section. The slim one. The one in Possum is fixed and if it was at least 5mm larger in width.
@@TomSP9TL Oooooh sorry, buddy. I'm not sure I'm 100% awake yet :D Yes, there's not much really between the two of them. The Pocket is very similar in size. It's a fiddle to get a phone in and out of
@@MoorlanderEDC I just got another fanny bag today, Pentagon Protean. I think it suits my needs more than Helikon Possum. It has two separate sections, where in the front one I can insert a pretty large phone.
@@MoorlanderEDC I was in a shop today, and I had a look at the Bandicoot. My mentioned Motorola One Vision in a heady duty case could be easily fit into the front zip pocket, but not in the velcro flat pocket, just like it was in the Possum one. I thought the Bandicoot was much much larger. It is not a small fanny bag, obviously it is bigger than Possum, but it's not that HUGE. Looks pretty neat on my waist. I think I will order one :)
Hey Fireball. I don't sorry. My only guess is that a lot of their gear is military based and used a lot more as airsoft gets bigger. A lot of it is worn over other things like a plate carrier or other tough fabrics. Cordura on cordura is more tough than cordura on mesh. It's purely a guess however it's all I can think of 🤔
