She has every right to speak for herself and her constituents.
The problem was she wasn’t willing to do give the judge the same courtesy she demands.
Typical hypocritical behavior by people who lie and get caught. She was out of line. This has nothing to do with skin color. When everything gets labeled “racist”, racism no longer exists.

Judge told her to sit and be quiet while he was speaking- to not interrupt- but she couldn’t control herself. She had to interrupt. Constantly. No one told her to remain quiet for her entire tenure. Just STFU while he’s trying to ask the question. You know, a conversation, which she’s obviously not able to have.

He did not have the authority to do that. This wasn't a judicial matter. It was a meeting of the elected governing body of the county. He's an elected member, and while his position does preside over the meeting procedurely, he does not have the same kind of authority he would in a trial. He essentially pitched a hissy fit because the commissioner brought up some questionable dealings he had had, and he didn't want to address the matter, so he attempted to silence her. If you look up the full encounter, she was professional about it at the start, and he was the one who was being an a**. He vastly overstepped his authority in an attempt to prevent discussion of a legitimate issue, and she was well within her elected role to press the matter despite his attempts to silence her.

Just watched a longer video. Commissioner Simmons had PLENTY of time to talk when it was her time at the microphone. Not a single person interrupted her and they all were paying attention to her. When another member on this panel was speaking, she looked disinterested and it appeared she rolled her eyes at what he was stating as well. This meeting was regarding staffing and approvals in the budget from what I gathered, and the Judge was simply pointing out that the commissioner did not appear to be using her staff appropriately because they were managing her Twitter/X account by posting political topics. Commissioner Simmons did not appear to like being called out and tried to point the finger back at the Judge, but the Judge made it clear that he manages his own Twitter/X account.

Just keep throwing the race card whenever someone questions anything. If the judge was anything but white and the commissioner was white, you wouldn't hear a peep or the judge would be applauded for keeping a tight control over the courtroom. Makes no difference what color, beliefs, religion or whatever a person is. When in any court there a rules to follow and the judge runs the show. It's not some street argument. In court you talk or stop talking when a judge asks you, that's never been a point of contention and not when you feel like it's convenient for you to so. To me, it looks like the commissioner knows she been caught, will not reply then does whatever she needs to do to avoid answering

I'm white, a moderate republican that leans more conservative but open for discussion to opposing views. Do i think the NAACP has any worth? I think it has in certain aspects, but they tend to choose many of their fights poorly. How often does anyone hear the NAACP talk about black on black crime or blacks being shot or killed at a staggering rate in most big cities on a national level. Rarely, because it does not get you the TV coverage from liberal or left stations. There has to be a bad guy to rally against, to get media coverage and donations they desire. And right or wrong, it can't be one of there own. Do i think the NAACP has any worth? I do. Do i think they are maximizing the impact they can have on bettering the lives and safety for people of color in the lower income brackets or high risk areas? No, i think they get easily sidetracked by every shiny new media opportunity that comes up and on a larger scale, neglects those that don't offer such an opportunity but needs there voice and help the most

What was Michele Obama's statement: When they go low, we go high.
All she had to do was be respectful and professional no matter what he said. Answer his questions.
Y'all have bought into the anger. It never solves anything. Anger just creates more anger and hate.

Racists distorting reality to suit their fantasies. Still doing it today for hundreds of years. Thats really … something.
Playing your racist card and accusing others of playing a race card (essentially) in comments won’t change the reality of what happened.

Yes, my dear, we did elect her to ":come and take a seat" -- and follow the rules of engagement. She wants to kid up a ruckus - use another medium. And don't pretend the six-figure salary didn't matter. Elected doesn't mean you can act however you want - and we didn't "elect" you for anything.... so you're very BIASED analysis made to make the situation something it wasn't? NO thanks

It seems a lot of people in the comments don't know what actually happened. This wasn't in his courtroom, this was a meeting. And the Judge seemed hostile from what I saw. He kept trying to act like Marjorie Taylor Greene and Boebert...I don't want that here in Texas, please. No reason to come to a meeting and act like you are in high school, especially when it's not your meeting.

Good job telling half the story, giving one side the chance to tell their viewpoint which is all about race, of course...shocking...This had nothing to do with that. She kept trying to talk over the judge while he was talking and showing HIM DISRESPECT by smarting off to him while he was trying to ask questions. She was acting like a petulant child and he treated her accordingly. Sorry these folks got their feelings hurt...Cry harder

      This meeting IS NOT COURT-
      It is a MEETING-
The judge DOES NOT HAVE JUDICIAL AUTHORITY IN A MEETING-
In a meeting, there may be a CHAIRMAN-
That chairman can be CHECKED if he gets out of line REGARDLESS of his profession as judge-
If he had told ME something like that in a meeting, he as well as the viewing public would've learned EXACTLY what disrespect is....😡🤬😡🤬😡🤬

Be it a meeting or a trial, generally what does one do when another is speaking its called mutual respect neither had it however you don't interrupt a person that is speaking at all patiently wait till they are done then speak they both need to be reprimanded. The way I see it there are too many people that like to be in charge when there is one above them they don't like it and must go against the grain, why?! Fight for that position!

A Judge telling a Lawyer to be quiet while he talks better be dead right that the Lawyer's Right to address the Jury is properly taken away. This "Judge" was in fact completely wrong, obstructive, and bellowing to cover over his own misconduct.
Worse, this "Judge" is NOT sitting as a real Judge. He is ONLY the Speaker or Chairman of the meeting. He has no more right to speak than any Commissioner save to maintain "one at a time" Order, and time limit observance.
Why are 90% of Bully Judges Boy Judges? This Bully Boy disgraces every real Judge. If She were the Judge, and He the Commissioner, can there be any doubt what this Bully Boy would have done? The entire County needs to Re-watch The Heat of the Night. That bully lost too.
