August 9, 1998 in Nola. Best concert I’ve ever been to out of 70+. Second leg of the Aenima tour and they were so tight. I’ve seen them 9 times since. I don’t care what anyone else says…this right here in this video is TOOL’s peak time, their prime state. And yes, it was before Lateralus.
@tinapuleo1233 I remember they tried to air condition the tents. They'd turn on these massive AC units and tried to close the flaps on the tents. But they only turned them on right before an artist went on. From J5's first show ever to Cornelius to Lamb, the tents were amazing that first year.
How did you get the sound so good? I was too young to see Tool at this time, but I did manage to see A Perfect Circle in Australia back in 2011 I think. My friend made me leave mid set, and I am still upset about that. Thanks for posting this, something for those born too late to have heard peak Tool/APC. Plus is that James Iha on guitar? Th things they're able to do with th visuals and how they arrange their setup. Idk how they figured this stuff out but it's amazing. Especially if u take some sort of psychadelics th stage literally flows like it's meant to be or something.

They simply asked since day 1 for full creative control. So they likely lost control over certain things. Which is why they've been waiting to complete their contract. I think touring was their last thing on the list after the album release. Now we'll likely see music sooner, more reissues, etc. I wish all new merch was available online. Oh and they took long due to lawsuits, other legal issues, label crap basically.
