This is flipping interesting. It's just totally open how we'll be using this stuff in the future. Funnily enough I'd just started playing with Notebook LM today!

Honestly, I tried it almost accidentally, and I was really surprised how well it works. Maybe you can influence reMarkable with the "power" of your channel and following to enhance their subscription service with LLM features and build something into their ecosystem :-)

@@Artellico let's do it together! Come join me on a livestream sometime? Maybe called "how remarkable could add powerful AI features without loosing the distraction free philosophy." something like that. They did mention they were looking into AI features in their launch and that they would only add things if it fit with their message.

Love this idea 😃 Sure I am in! This would really give the reM ecosystem a unique selling proposition and differentiate them from most other offerings.

I've been watching your videos now for several weeks. Thank you for the really excellent quality of your content. As an RM2 and now an RPP user, this video has opened up a whole new realm of possibilities for me.

This is really interesting. Your previous video on Mermaid diagram generation was also very informative. You are showing us the way to make much more use of our eink devices - thank you!!

Many thanks, I have been recently called "e-ink aficionado" :-) ... while this is maybe too extreme, but I do see a great potential, and together with AI used in a proper way, these devices have the potential to increase our productivity significantly, while providing joy and fun - at least for geeky persons loving technology - at the same time.

Hi, just found your channel and it is amazing what you are sharing here. I think there is a strong argument for AI to improve upon workflow and efficiency of using epaper devices.
I am looking to get my first epaper device but I am struggling to choose what to get.
My use case is for taking notes, studying, mathematics, physics, and reading. I am a mechanical engineering student so I don’t want the device to have a steep learning curve in order to be efficient. I also don’t want to have to purchase consumables, this is one reason why I am not fully sold on the paper pro.
Budget isn’t too big of an issue for me
    Any suggestions?

Thanks a lot for this reMarkable feedback ... no pun intended.
I can just give you decision logic, and considering what you write, this actually does heavily point to the reMarkable Paper Pro. It is simple, has no steep learning curve. Colors are a great if not necessary enhancement to your reading experience, especially for scientific documents, textbooks, and papers. I have found many instances where diagrams and illustrations lost most of their meaning without color, if they contain color as a distinguishing / differentiating factor. For note-taking, color is even less important for me personally, though it gives you additional ways to highlight and flag certain content. The pure writing experience is slightly different, with the reM2 and the Onyx Boox series being more "sticky", but the reMPP provides an excellent experience as well. The pure functionality of writing math, drawing engineering diagrams etc. is something where all e-ink tablets shine.
So for me, the main decision factors are: size, color, and Simplicity (i.e. no Android). You may have watched many other videos, and this is a controversial topic. Some regard the lack of Android as a major disadvantage, for me, this is a major plus of the reMarkable philosophy. But that's maybe the first question you should ask yourself.
You write about "consumables", what do you exactly mean? The pen nibs? Then I can just tell you, that the nibs of the reMPP wear out much LESS than the ones of the reM2, and it seems much less than on the Onyx Boox series either (even if used them less for writing than the reM tablets). It also possible to use some 3rd party pens on either device series, though the technology is different. I am sure there will be 3rd party nibs at some point for the reMPP as well, which you can likely buy from Amazon locally. Until then, you should have plenty of time with the included set of nibs from reMarkable.
I hope this helps you find the best device for your use-case. In case you decide on a reMarkable tablet and understand what you are going for before the purchase, you will not be disappointed.

😊 I just tried this with a document that I wrote months ago for job references and information. I'm impressed with how you can interrogate the document for specific insights. Like it summarised the jobs and the longest job etc. Etc. I can see a future for remarkable or any eink notes to be fully interactive. Not least samsung notes and onenote.

Many thanks! I have tried a couple of use cases, but want to avoid flooding RUclips with similar videos. But indeed, these tools like NotebookLM and illuminate have a great potential. We are living in an exciting era, but also have to make sure, AI is always used responsibly and not just focussing on how many human jobs I can get rid of ... a temptation large corporations may easily have in mind.
